Suppose you’re a fan of the legendary Elden Ring games. In that case, we have some excellent news for you: the standalone Elden Ring Nightreign will be released to Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on May 30, 2025, and it promises to be a very different game.
Touted as an action role-playing game, Nightreign will see Elden Ring approaching the Battle Royale gameplay, where teams of 3 players will collaborate and work together over three days to defeat a powerful final boss. You can watch the trailer below.
Although the game can be enjoyed as a single player as well, it is developed to be played in teams. As with any other Battle Royale-inspired game, the map will gradually shrink, forcing players to move to the center of the map, where the final boss awaits them.
Even though it might seem like a lot of time until May, FromSoftware will host a series of beta sessions for console players of the game. These sessions may expand to Windows as well. Either way, if you’re interested, you should keep an eye out for registrations.
Nightreign comes out less than a year after Elden Ring’s first expansion, released in 2024. The series has been enjoying immense success so far, commercially and critically, being hailed as one of the best video games ever released.
