The ERROR_CACHE_PAGE_LOCKED system error in Windows, with code 752 (0x2F0), appears due to issues with the memory management and storage components, corrupted system files, and outdated drivers.
The error message reads, Cached page was locked during operation.
Before you move to the solutions, restart the PC, install all pending Windows and software updates, and run a malware scan on the PC. For most, these basic checks should do the trick!
How can I fix ERROR_CACHE_PAGE_LOCKED in Windows?
1. Repair the system files
- Press Windows + S to open Search, type Command Prompt, and click on Run as administrator.
- Click Yes in the UAC prompt.
- Paste the following DISM commands individually and hit Enter after each:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Now, execute this command to run the SFC scan:
sfc /scannow
- Once done, restart the PC to apply the changes.

5. Reinstall Windows
In case nothing else works, the last option is to reinstall Windows. Since there’s a possibility of data loss, I recommend backing up any critical files to an external storage drive.
To reinstall Windows, connect a formatted USB drive to the PC > go to Microsoft’s official website > download the Media Creation Tool > use it to create a bootable USB drive > restart the PC > change the boot order to the bootable flash drive > run the setup and proceed with Windows installation.
