Windows 11 KB5077223 Beta Update Improves File Explorer, Taskbar, and More
Microsoft has released two different builds on the same day. The first one, KB5077241, in the Release Preview Channel, adds improvements to File Explorer, introduces Emoji 16.0, and brings a built-in network speed test directly to the taskbar.
Meanwhile, the second update, KB5077223, released in the Beta Channel bumps systems to Build 26220.7859 and focuses on reliability fixes across the taskbar, File Explorer, nearby sharing, and settings for a smoother Windows 11 experience.
File Explorer, Taskbar, Nearby Sharing, and Settings Improvements
The Beta Channel build brings several incremental fixes for Insiders. In the taskbar, app icons now appear more reliably in the system tray, even when autohide is enabled. File Explorer no longer causes open windows or tabs to unexpectedly jump to Desktop or Home.
That’s not all; Nearby Sharing has also been improved, which makes it easier to send larger files without interruptions. Meanwhile, in Settings, configuring options under Bluetooth & Devices > Wheel has become more reliable.
Moving on, the update also introduces a small but useful change for Microsoft 365 Family subscribers. On the Accounts page, users now see an option to upgrade to a different 365 plan, with the flexibility to remove the prompt by turning off suggested content.
