Windows 10 20H1 build 18875 fixes screen flickering issues

Windows 10 20H1 build is now available to Fast and Skip Ahead Insiders. As a quick reminder, Microsoft is merging these two Insiders rings starting next month.

This means that Fast and Skip Ahead Insiders will receive the same preview builds in the future. Slow and Release Preview rings can still access Windows 10 May 2019 Update builds until Microsoft release the OS to the general public.

The company plans to launch the next feature update later this year. However, 20H1 is expected to launch in the first half of 2020.

Now, getting back to Windows 10 build 18875, let’s have a look at the list of general fixes and improvements.

1. Lock Screen freezing issues fixed

Microsoft finally fixed the lock screen freezing issues that were affecting Windows 10 PCs. Previously, users reported experiencing this bug while interacting with the touch keyboard and switching keyboard layouts.

2. Settings crashing bug fix

Windows 10 users reported quite frequently that the Settings app crashed. Windows 10 build 18875 fixed this issue for affected users.

3. Device Setup message bug fix

Windows 10 was continuously prompting some Insiders to setup their devices on every restart. Thankfully, this recent release fixed this issue too.

4. Applications flickering fix

Microsoft resolved another issue that was responsible for flickering issues in some applications.

5. Unexpected battery drain bug

Finally, Windows 10 build 18875 resolved the annoying battery drain issues. This bug was potentially caused by pinning Photos tile to Start menu.

This build brings three known issues to the table. An update to the latest 19H1 Insider Preview builds can trigger system crashes for users who are running older versions of anti-cheat software.

Furthermore, Microsoft did not resolve the functionality issues in Creative X-Fi sound cards and some Realtek SD card readers.

The ISO files for Windows 10 build 18875 are not available yet. However, you can grab this update through Fast and Skip Ahead rings.

If you enrolled in the Fast and Skip Ahead rings, then the update will automatically download on your system. Insiders can manually download the update from Settings >> Update & security >> Windows Update and navigating to Check for updates.

You can expect to encounter other issues as well due to the fact that this version is an early development build.
