What causes the event ID 4624?

The Event ID 4624 Logon ID 0x3E7 occurs when a logon session is created on the destination machine. It is generated on the computer that was accessed. Also, it indicates the type of logon and other fields like Anonymous logon and Impersonation level.

  • Corrupt system files – You can encounter event ID 4624 irrelevantly when your system files are corrupted or missing. It causes miscommunication between the system and the services depending on the faulty files.

1. Perform a Clean boot on your PC

  1. Press Windows + R key to open the Run dialog box, type msconfig, and click OK.
  2. Click the Services tab and check the box for the Hide all Microsoft services option, then click the Disable all button.
  3. Go to the Startup tab and click OpenTask Manager.
  4. Select the startup programs and click the Disable button.
  5. Restart your PC and check if the event ID 7034 error persists.

A Clean boot stops services interfering with other essential features on your PC from running when you start the system. It can resolve the event ID 4624.

2. Run a System File Checker (SFC) scan

  1. Left-click the Start button, type Command Prompt, and click the Run as administrator option.
  2. Click Yes on the User Account Control prompt.
  3. Type the following and press Enter: sfc /scannow
  4. Restart your PC and check if the event ID 4624 persists.
