- Excel not responding when saving can occur for many reasons, including issues with Excel Add-ins.

1. End task for Excel on your computer
- Right-click the Start button and select Task Manager from the menu.
- Navigate to the Processes tab, select the Excel app from the list, right-click on it, then click End Task from the drop-down menu.
- Click on OK to confirm and restart your computer to help it sync the changes effectively.

2. Repair Microsoft Office
- Press Windows + R key to open the Run dialog box, type appwiz.cpl and click on OK to open Programs and Features.
- Right-click on Microsoft Office and click on Change from the drop-down.
- Select the Quick Repair option on the new windows, then click the Repair button.
- If Quick repair can’t fix it, select Online Repair.
Repairing Microsoft Office will fix any missing or corrupt app file issues that may cause Excel not to respond when saving to OneDrive or Network drive.

3. Download the latest updates for Excel
- Open Excel and click on Files in the top-right corner.
- Click on Account from the menu on the left, select the Update Options, then click on the Update Now option.

4. Use the Save as option to change the file location
- While on the file you want to save on Excel, on File in the top menu bar.

5. Start Excel in Safe Mode and disable the Excel Add-Ins
- Press Windows + R key to open the Run dialog box, type excel.exe /safe, then click OK to start Microsoft Excel in Safe Mode.
- Click on File in the top menu bar, then select Options from the menu on the left.
- Click on Add-ins on the right, select Excel Add-ins, then click on the Go button.
- Uncheck the boxes next to the active Add-Ins and click OK to save the changes.
- Restart Excel and check if the error persists.
Starting Excel in Safe Mode fixes third-party app interference, while disabling the Add-ins will fix any issues for corrupt add-ins.
