1. Update Adobe Acrobat Reader DC manually

  1. Visit the official website and look for the latest patch version
  2. Download updates manually and then double-click to install them
  3. Once installed, reboot your PC and check.

  5. Right under Compatibility mode, check the box next to Run this program in compatibility mode for:

  7. Try launching Adobe Acrobat Reader DC again.

3. Run the program with Admin rights

  1. Go to the following file path:
    • C: > Program Files(x86) > Adobe > Acrobat Reader DC > Reader
  2. Locate AcroRd32.exe
  3. Right-click AcroRd32.exe and go to Properties
  4. Go to the Compatibility tab
  5. Check the box next to where it says Run this program as an administrator
  6. Try launching Adobe Acrobat Reader DC again.

4. Disable protected mode

  1. Launch Adobe Acrobat Reader DC
  2. Click Edit
  3. Go to Preferences
  4. Uncheck the box next to Enable protected mode at startup
  5. Click OK and re-launch Adobe Acrobat Reader DC
