  4. While still holding down the buttons above press on the “Enter” button.
  5. A “User account control” window will pop up where you will need to left click or tap on the “Yes” button.
  6. You will need to write “regedit” in the window.
  7. Press the “Enter” button on the keyboard.
  8. A “Registry Editor” window should open.
  9. Select Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 from the Registry Editor by left clicking on it.
  10. In the upper left side of the Registry Editor window you will need to left click on the “File” feature.
  11. From the “File” menu left click on the “Export” option.
  12. In the next window you will need to choose the directory where you want to place the backup key for Windows 10, 8.1.
  13. In the box next to “File Name” you will have to enter a name for the backup you are going to make.
  14. In the box next to “Export range” select the feature “Selected branch” by left clicking on it.
  15. Left click or tap on the “Save” button.
  16. After you chose to save the backup file it will appear with a “.reg” extension.
  17. Now after you made a backup copy of the registries you will need to left click on the link below.

  19. Run the application by double clicking (left clicking) on the executable file and follow the instructions on the screen.

Third option: Initialize a Disk Cleanup

  1. Left click or tap on the “Start” button.
  2. Write in the search box from the “Start” menu the following “command” without the quotes.
  3. Press and hold the “Ctrl’ button and the “Shift” button.

  5. Left click or tap on “Yes” in the next window that appears.

  8. You now have started the “Disk cleanup” feature in Windows.
  9. You will get to a certain point in the process where you will have to check the boxes next to the categories you wish to clean.
    Note: I suggest you check all the boxes with all categories present there.
  10. Left click or tap on the “OK” button.

Fourth option: Check for outdated/bad drivers

  1. Left click or tap on the “Start” button in Windows 10, 8.1.
  2. Type in the search box you have present there the following command “Device Manager”.
  3. Left click or tap on the “Device manager” icon.
  4. Look on the left for any drivers that may have a yellow marking on them and if you find any you will need to update them to fit your Windows 8.1 operating system.
    Note: You can search on the manufacturer’s website for the drivers required to run Windows properly.

Fifth option: Restore your system to a previous version

  1. Left click or tap on the “Start” button.
  2. In the search box from the “Start” menu you will need to write “System Restore”.
  3. Press the “Enter” button on your keyboard.
  4. Left click or tap on the “System Restore” icon.
  5. You might get prompted by a window where you will need to place in the administrator account and the password to proceed with this step.
