Microsoft donates box lunches, masks, will donate more, Brad Smith says

Microsoft President Brad Smith tweeted out that Microsoft will donate 30,000 box lunches for local families in need, 35,000 bottles of hand sanitizer, and 240,000 masks to Washington state medical facilities to combat the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

Microsoft has already taken steps to help stop the spread of coronavirus by closing all of its Microsoft Store retail stores and having most employees work from home. In addition, Microsoft Bing provides a resource hub showing the latest COVID-19 news, with an interactive map showing all of the latest information, including active coronavirus cases, fatalities, and cases in which people recovered from the virus.

Microsoft also teamed up with the CDC to make their Coronavirus Self-Checker Tool, powered by Microsoft Azure, available to everyone. In a previous tweet, Smith noted that Microsoft worked with the WA Department of Health to secure supplies for medical staff, including medical protective suits, medical skull caps, infrared thermometers, and 15,000 protection goggles.
