New AMD Adrenalin Optional Driver Update Adds Game Support and Fixes Stability Issues

amd chipset update released

AMD has rolled out its latest optional graphics driver, Adrenalin Edition 26.2.1, bringing new game support and targeted fixes for Radeon RX 7000 and 9000 series GPUs. Released on February 11, 2026, the update aims to improve stability and performance for several high-profile titles while providing gamers with better optimization options.

At a time when ray tracing and AI-powered graphics continue to push hardware, even optional updates can make a meaningful difference for players.

AMD Adrenalin Driver 26.2.1 Update

The 26.2.1 driver adds official support for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties and Nioh 3, ensuring smoother gameplay for launch players. AMD also addressed visual glitches, including corrupted clouds in Arc Raiders on RX 9000 GPUs, and resolved intermittent crashes in The Finals when ray tracing was enabled on RX 7000 series cards.

That being said, AMD confirms that several issues persist as of now. Players may still encounter crashes or driver timeouts in Cyberpunk 2077 with Path Tracing enabled, as well as in Battlefield 6 on systems with Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. Texture flickering has also been reported when AMD Record and Stream is active. Optional driver releases often fix some problems while acknowledging others, and gamers are advised to weigh stability against incremental improvements.

The update also introduces some limitations. AMD FSR Upscaling and Frame Generation may appear inactive in titles like Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on RX 9000 GPUs. Additionally, the AMD Install Manager currently cannot install Optional Drivers, so users should download directly from the release page linked at the top.
