Good news for those constantly engaged in Town Hall meetings and webinars within Microsoft Teams: the Redmond-based tech giant announced that it will enhance the platform with the Intelligent Event Recap capability.

As you might already know, the Intelligent Event Recap capability uses AI to create timestamps, explore the meeting recording by speakers and topics, and even summarize the meeting and suggest notes.

It was first introduced in Microsoft Teams in 2023 as one of the platforms’ first AI capabilities. Now it’s coming to Town Hall.

Here’s what the entry says:

Intelligent recap is now available for town hall and webinar event instances, just like the intelligent recap experience you are used to in meetings. Event organizers, co-organizers, and presenters can now easily explore the meeting recording by speakers and topics and access AI-generated meeting notes, AI-generated tasks, and name mentions. In addition to being available with a Teams Premium license, intelligent event recap features are also available in Copilot for Microsoft 365 licenses.

The new capability will be released in January 2025 for Microsoft Teams for Desktop and Mac.

Speaking of Town Hall events, Microsoft recently updated the participation limit to 50,000 simultaneous attendees, meaning organizations can host large conferences on the platform.
