Microsoft has recently unveiled an innovative chat tool called 365 Copilot Chat, designed for Microsoft 365 customers and requires more than what Microsoft 365 Copilot offers. The new chat system is based on OpenAI’s GPT-4o.
In a blog post, the Redmond-based tech giant says some of the most essential features of Copilot Chat are:
- Engaging in market research, generating strategies, or preparing meetings by chatting with Copilot.
- Collaborating on projects in real-time, pulling in files and other data from Microsoft’s apps and services.
- Creating and managing Copilot agents, essentially bots that automate tasks and answer questions within chat using a natural language interface.
- Uploading files like Word, Excel, or PowerPoint documents to ask Copilot to summarize, analyze, or improve them.
- Generating AI images for campaigns and social posts.
Copilot Chat is available to try now through the Microsoft 365 Copilot app at m365copilot.com, and Microsoft says that it will soon come to the Microsoft Store on Windows, Play Store, and iPhone App Store.
Microsoft offers 60 days of Copilot Chat for free, with pricing starting at $30 per user per month for businesses. The company also offers a free version of Copilot (which doesn’t include Copilot Chat) for individual users.
In other news, the tech giant will soon release the necessary tools for developers to create, test, and run customized Copilot agents. Microsoft also announced the release of a brand new app within Teams, the Copilot Prompt Gallery.
What are your thoughts on the new Microsoft Copilot Chat features? Are they worth paying for, or are you satisfied with the free baseline Copilot features?
