Kaspersky products have issues in Windows 10 Anniversary Update

The Windows 10 Anniversary Update is not compatible with a series of hardware and software products, which may cause serious issues to users’ computers. McAfee has already published a list of all its security products that are incompatible with the Anniversary Update, and Kaspersky has now done the same.

You can still run Kasperky’s security products on the Anniversary Update OS, but a series of security features will be unavailable, making your computer vulnerable to threads.

The following Kaspersky products will operate with limitations on the Anniversary Update

1. Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 /2017 limitations

  • Self-Defense
  • System Watcher (limitations in detecting some objects)
  • System memory scan
  • Protection against screen lockers
  • Protection against cryptoviruses
  • Safe Money (limitations in clipboard protection, protection against screenshots, and protection from several types of attacks)
  • Application Control (limitations in protection of the Edge browser; limitations in categorizing Metro applications; limitations in applying customer settings toward certain applications)
  • Trusted Applications mode (limitations in connection with Windows Program Data Updater service for Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 only).
  • File Anti-Virus (limitations in work in case too many files are copied for Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 only).

1.1. Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 for Windows 10 RS1 (32-bit) will not control:

  • Installation of keyloggers.
  • Taking screenshots.
  • Direct access to physical memory.
  • Access to password storage.
  • Managing printer driver.
  • Access to internal browser data.
  • Access to critical objects of the operating system.
  • Operation of Windows system applications.
  • Logging of registry.
  • Access to audio files.
  • Access to the webcam.

1.2. Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 will partially control:



  • Driver loading (Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 will not block driver loading, it will only show a notification on the fact of loading).
  • Changes in system files.
  • Windows shutdown.

2. Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2016 /2017  limitations:

  • Self-Defense
  • System memory scan
  • Protection against screen lockers
  • Protection against cryptoviruses
  • System Watcher (limitations in detecting some objects for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2017 only).
  • File Anti-Virus (limitations in work in case too many files are copied for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2017 only).

3. Kaspersky Total Security 2017 / 2016 limitations:

  • Self-Defense.
  • System Watcher (limitations in detecting some objects)
  • System memory scan.
  • Protection against screen lockers.
  • Protection against cryptoviruses.
  • Safe Money (limitations in clipboard protection, protection against screenshots, and protection from several types of attacks).
