Microsoft opens MVP Summit registration for March 2018 event, but not without problems

Microsoft is set to hold its MVP Summit, a gathering of awardees recognized for their contributions to the community, early next year, on March 4-7 in Bellevue and Redmond, Washington. The program opened up registration for the event today, offering free shared hotel accommodations for the event, but the registration has left a lot of MVPs frustrated.

For one thing, the site is apparently not able to keep up with the traffic, although it shouldn’t be that high as there are only about 5,000 current MVPs:

There are also apparent problems with the registration site’s implementation, with the “blog url” field tripping things up:

Still, many MVPs (many using the #MVPBuzz hashtag on Twitter) have been able to register. Microsoft delayed the event, which has traditionally been an annual affair, last year, skipping a 2017 summit, so MVPs will be eager to catch up with each other and hear about the company’s plans for the future.
