2. Try accessing an alternative browser

If the connection error persists with Chrome, try accessing another browser. Oftentimes, the problem is not your PC or your network, but the browser itself.

We recommend a lighter browser such as Opera since it requires fewer resources and it loads considerably faster.

As opposed to Chrome, Opera has integration with a lot of tools and apps.

This is why the browser comes fully-equipped with most productivity tools one could wish for, from news feed and workspaces to messengers and battery saver. Plus VPN and ad blocker.

You just have to activate each of them or pin particular icons to the sidebars for easy access. This guarantees a faster response time and almost zero errors.

If this issue appears in other browsers as well, it might be that your network configuration is not correct or that your network adapter driver is outdated.

4. Remove or reinstall your VPN software

reinstall your VPN software

VPN software is great if you want to protect your privacy online, but VPN software can sometimes interfere with Google Chrome and cause this error to appear.

Instead of disabling or removing the VPN, as it’s sometimes suggested, we’d rather recommend using a VPN solution that does not interfere with other processes or programs.

One such service is Private Internet Access, a VPN service developed by Kape Technologies.

It has thousands of servers all over the world, and it grants unlimited bandwidth. More so, it grants P2P support and Wi-Fi security for added protection.

Set up is instant and further use is similarly intuitive. So if you want reliable protection for your identity while surfing the Internet, try this tool.

  • Milane

Tried everything except third party tool. IE works but Chrome shows ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED

every second time I log into PC.

I do have AVG VPN but not sure how to go through it and frankly I am sure ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED

appeared earlier than VPN was installed.
    What do you think?
Ps: I am on Windows 10.
    Thanks

  • Terrible advice. Flushing DNS doesn’t fix a Chrome problem, and this is a Chrome-specific problem. I can access any site or page in MSIE and Mozilla while at the same time getting the disconnect error in Chrome. Your IP stack & network settings on a PC are by default used by ALL applications using the network interface, so if there were a problem with your network configs or hardware it would affect ALL apps and not just Chrome. This is a Chrome problem, not a pc or network configuration problem.

    • Here is the solution. You computer is set up to pick WiFi or Ethernet. If it is set up for both you are switching between one and the other and it is disconnecting. Probably your Ethernet card is going bad. So…. Set up your computer for Wifi only Go to the control panel. Then to Network Sharing Center. Then Click on Change Adapter Settings. Then disable Ethernet and make sure WiFi is enabled. Save settings. Done ! Dropped the Microphone.
