Surface Laptop 7 Intel

Microsoft unveiled the new Surface Laptop 7, and this one is a non-ARM Copilot+ PC that can be optionally enhanced with 5G connections. The laptop will be available in 13.8-inch and 15-inch versions, and it’s no different from its ARM-based sibling.

Instead of Qualcomm’s ARM chips, the Redmond-based tech giant has equipped these devices with Intel Core Ultra 5 and 7 Series 2 processors. Both of these CPUs will come in different variants. The new Surface Laptop 7 will have either 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM with storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB SSDs that can be replaced.

Like the models released last year, the new Intel-based Surface Laptop 7 is quite powerful and fast, with a battery life of up to 22 hours of video playback and 14 hours of Internet browsing.

Which brings us to the 5G connectivity. If the Qualcomm-based Surface Laptop 7 doesn’t have this kind of connection, the Intel-based one will have it, but as mentioned earlier, it will be optional. The 5G Internet connection should give Surface Laptop 7 impressive Internet speeds on the go, making it a perfect device for portable situations. This means you’ll be able to have smooth video calls and conferences and even stream movies flawlessly while on the run.

Being a Copilot+ PC, even if it’s not ARM-based, the Intel Surface Laptop 7 will automatically have access to all the capabilities for such devices, including Windows Recall (which is finally available to Insiders after multiple delays), Live Captions, Windows Studio Effects, and more.

However, the new laptops are meant for Business customers, so if you’re a content creator, you should get one. It’s worth noting that they aren’t for gaming, and if you purchase one with this goal, you’ll be disappointed.

They’ll be available on February 18, 2025, and you can look at them here. But they’re pretty expensive. The starting price is $1499.
