AutoCAD 2022, one of the most popular CAD tools, might crash when trying to open it on Windows 11 24H2. Microsoft has acknowledged the issue on its Windows Release Health dashboard, stating that the application might simply not open when launched.
The Redmond-based tech giant has released a compatibility hold for all Windows 11 23H2, stopping them from getting the Windows 11 24H2.
It’s worth noting that this only applies to AutoCAD 2022. All other versions of AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT, such as AutoCAD 2023, 2024, and 2025, are working as expected.
Microsoft also says users should not try to manually install 24H2 but should wait for the company to release a resolution.
