It seems Microsoft has a few tricks up its sleeve when it comes to Xbox controllers. Recent leaks from eXtas1stv on X have reignited chatter about two intriguing Xbox controllers: Sebile and Actium Duet.
As reported by TweakTown, these codenames resurfaced thanks to keen-eyed data miners sifting through Xbox Cloud Gaming files, suggesting that Microsoft is still cooking up some hardware surprises.
The leaker also detailed their find later on in a YouTube video (in Spanish).
Sebile: The return of a familiar name
First up, Sebile isn’t a new name for those who’ve been following Xbox rumors. Originally leaked during the 2023 Activision-Blizzard trial, Sebile was touted to feature advanced haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and even audio output directly from the controller. The recent findings indicate that Sebile is still in development, with references to Sebile EV1 and Sebile Delgado hinting at possible variations. Could we be looking at different models or perhaps a standard and pro version? Time will tell.
Actium Duet: A new contender
The more mysterious of the two, Actium Duet, is a fresh codename that’s sparking curiosity. The Duet moniker has led to speculation about a modular or split design, reminiscent of Nintendo’s Joy-Cons. Alternatively, it could signify a new Elite controller variant, offering customizable features for the hardcore gamer. While details are scant, the inclusion of Actium Duet in the cloud gaming files suggests that Microsoft is exploring innovative designs to enhance the gaming experience.
While leaks and codenames are always tantalizing, it’s essential to approach them with cautious optimism. The presence of these names in the code doesn’t guarantee an imminent release. However, it does indicate that Microsoft is actively developing new hardware, potentially aiming to align with the next generation of Xbox consoles or to offer enhanced peripherals for current systems.
As always, until Microsoft makes an official announcement, all we have are educated guesses and a lot of excitement. But one thing’s for sure: the future of Xbox gaming looks promising, and we can’t wait to see what Sebile and Actium Duet turn out to be.
