5. Clear storage on your Android or PC

How can I mute all mics in Microsoft Teams?

  1. Access the Calendar tab
  2. Select a scheduled meeting from the list
  3. Go to Meeting Options
  4. Toggle the Allow attendees to unmute offAllow attendees to unmute Microsoft Teams
  5. Click the Save button

That’s it, you’ve pre-configured a future meeting so that Microsoft Teams participants can’t unmute their mics by themselves. However, note that you may still need to mute their mics after the meeting starts.

How to remove RegretLocker ransomware on Windows 10

RegretLocker is a recently identified malicious software and classified as ransomware. Recently, it started to target Windows 10.

All systems infected with this ransomware have their data encrypted and all of the affected files are appended with the .mouse extension.

For example, a regular 1.jpg file would appear as 1.jpg.mouse. After the encryption process is complete, ransom notes titled How to restore files.txt are dropped into compromised folders.

Moreover, users receive ransom demands for the decryption. The issue is now affecting Windows Hyper-V virtual machine as well.

In this case, a virtual hard disk is created and stored in a VHD or VHDX file, containing a raw disk image, including a drive’s partition table and partitions.

How can I remove RegretLocker ransomware on Windows 10?

  1. Press the Power button at the Windows login screen. Then, press and hold Shift, and click Restart.
  2. You can now select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings.
  3. Then, press Restart once again.
  4. Once your PC is active, select Enable Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
  5. Up next, enter cd restore and click Enter.
  6. Type rstrui.exe and press Enter again.
  7. When a new window appears, click Next and select a restore point that is prior to the infiltration of RegretLocker.
  8. After doing that, click Next.
  9. Finally, click Yes to confirm the system restore.

In order to remove RegretLocker ransomware on Windows 10, you simply need to apply the above steps. The code used by RegretLocker may have its source from a recently published security research.

When it comes to the affected Windows Hyper-V virtual machines, RegretLocker uses the Windows Virtual Storage API OpenVirtualDisk, AttachVirtualDisk, as well as GetVirtualDiskPhysicalPath functions to easily mount and compromise virtual disks.

Also, the Windows Restart Manager API is involved in the process, to terminate Windows services that keep a file open during encryption.

Microsoft Edge Canary brings back legacy Edge’s two-page layout for PDFs

Microsoft has been working to improve the PDF experience for Edge users. Not long ago, the software gaint announced that Microsoft Edge’s PDF reader will get a two-page layout. Microsoft Edge Canary now offers a new “page view” option to open PDF documents in a two-page view on a PC (via Reddit).

If Microsoft Edge has supported PDF documents for a long time, it only offered a limited set of capabilities that forced users to look for alternative apps. Right now, it is only possible to view one page at a time and users need to scroll down to flip pages.

With this new feature, the company wants to ensure that PDF files can be viewed without the need to use online services or third-party applications. Currently, the option is disabled by default in Edge Canary. Insiders who want to test the feature can follow the steps below to enable it.

  1. Open Microsoft Edge Canary (version Build 88.0.688.0 or later).
  2. Type edge://flags/#edge-pdf-two-page-view in the address bar.
  3. Now use the drop-down menu to enable the “Enable two page view for PDF” flag.
  4. Finally, restart Microsoft Edge to apply the change.

 

Once enabled, open a PDF document in your browser, navigate to the toolbar, and then click on the “Page View” icon. You should now see an option to switch between the single page and two-page layouts. There is also another option to make the cover page display separately (based on the user’s preferences).

As you probably know, the two-page layout experience isn’t something new, as the legacy version of Edge supported this capability. Moreover, it’s already available in other Chromium-based browsers including Google Chrome.
