Microsoft has issued a serious warning concerning cybersecurity for everyone out there, as attack levels have begun to spike once again.
The Russian-backed group Nobelium is at it again and, this time, the tactics they employed could fool even the most vigilant of observers.
Nobelium is using a hacked USAID account for phishing
As we mentioned above, the Russian hackers have now gotten their hands on a Constant Contact email marketing platform formerly used by USAID, in order to conduct their shady business.
Estimations show that more than 3000 accounts that are linked to government agencies, consultants, think tanks, as well as other non-governmental organizations, were targeted by this phishing scheme.
And even though most of Nobelium’s efforts were concentrated mostly on the US, it seems that the malicious content reached more than 24 countries, according to Microsoft.
Tom Burt, the vice president of customer security and trust from Microsoft, explained how the Native Zone malware was inserted into victim’s computers.
Nobelium launched this week’s attacks by gaining access to the Constant Contact account of USAID. From there, the actor was able to distribute phishing emails that looked authentic but included a link that, when clicked, inserted a malicious file used to distribute a backdoor we call Native Zone. This backdoor could enable a wide range of activities from stealing data to infecting other computers on a network.
As an attempt to not incriminate Microsoft, by allowing people to think that flaws in the system may have facilitated these attacks, Burton said that many of the emails were blocked, thus vulnerability of any Microsoft products can be ruled out.
How does Nobelium attack its victims?
The email that the hackers send has a link included and, once this link is clicked, its pretty much like handing thieves the keys to your house.
After clicking the above-mentioned link, an ISO is delivered to the machine in question, that contains a decoy document, a shortcut, and a DLL executable with a Cobalt Strike Beacon loader (Native Zone).
When users actually run this shortcut, the DLL is executed and Nobelium has free access to all your data, thus extracting any information they want, and can even deliver additional malware.
This malware distributing campaign was first discovered back in February 2021, by Microsoft, as detailed in the post from the Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center.
Microsoft has kicked it into full gear in the battle against these malicious groups and has enlisted the help of other nations that are willing to stand up and act against cyber oppression, according to Tom Burt.
Microsoft will continue to work with willing governments and the private sector to advance the cause of digital peace.
Remember that the internet is not only cool wallpapers, great music and funny cat videos. Staying protected in this dangerous cyber environment should be everyone’s first concern while online.
We will keep our eyes on this developing story and inform you of any, if any, changes on this matter that may occur. As you may know by now, we cover subjects that involve serious ransomware threats.
Have you ever been a victim of cyber-attacks? Tell us all about it in the comments section below.
One of the main causes of various Windows 10 problems ever since the operating system was released are bad drivers.
Microsoft is aware of the fact that incompatibility between drivers and the system is a major problem and made things at least slightly better.
Many device manufacturers have a partnership with Microsoft, which allows them to release driver updates through Windows Update, as regular updates for Windows 10.
Having the latest drivers installed on your computer is actually a good thing in most cases and is always recommended.
However, manufacturers can still offer optional driver updates that you can easily install. In this article, we will talk about how to install them or how to prevent installing drivers with Windows updates.
How can I block driver installation in Windows 10 updates?
Navigate to the following key in the Local Group Policy Editor: Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows Update
Double click on the Do not include drivers with Windows Updates.
Select Enable, then click on Apply and OK to enable the policy and stop including the drivers in Windows updates.
Restart your computer.
Most of the times, getting the latest driver updates is a great thing but for some, installing a new driver can cause all sorts of problems.
System administrators especially want to install the drivers manually for their endpoints so the steps above will help you disable the automatic driver inclusion with Windows 10 updates.
NOTE
Note: This option is availableon Professional, Education, and Enterprise editions of Windows. Home users don’t have the Group Policy Editor. However, we have an excellent guide on how to install it.
2. Use the Registry Editor
Press Windows key + R to start Run.
Type regedit and press Enter or click OK.
Navigate to the following keys in the Registry Editor:
Edit the ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate DWORD with any text editor like the Notepad and change its value from 0 to 1.
Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Update\ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate
Change the value DWORD from 0 to 1.
This is a slightly more complicated solution meant for more advanced users so proceed with caution.
Editing the registry will also block the inclusion and the installation of the drivers in the Windows 10 updates so go ahead and perform the steps above.
3. How to install optional drivers
Type updates in Windows search and click on Check for updates from the results.
Click on View optional updates.
Now click on Driver updates to expand the section.
Select the drivers you want to update and hit the Download and install button from underneath.
Wait for the drivers to get installed and restart your PC.
If you disabled the automatic update for the drivers within Windows 10 updates, you would still need to update them manually from time to time.
To install optional drivers issued by the manufacturers of your components, perform the easy steps above.
On the other hand, you can opt for an automatic tool that looks for the most suitable drivers for your PC and installs them with a single click.
That’s it, we hope that our guide helped you disable the automatic inclusion of the drivers in the OS updates.
Windows 10 build 14385 for both PC and Mobile is out, but it appears many Insiders couldn’t install the latest update due to various error codes. We have already reported about the 0x80246019 error code that prevented Insiders from downloading the latest Windows 10 build, but a new error reared its ugly head.
This time, it’s error 0x8020000f that doesn’t allow Insiders to install the current build. Actually, this is not the first time when this error has prevented Insiders from getting their hands on Microsoft’s builds. Last year, thousands of users couldn’t download build 10159 due to the same error code.
Can’t install the latest Insider builds due to error 0x8020000f
Error 0x8020000f can be problematic and prevent you from downloading the latest builds. Speaking of errors, here are some similar issues that users reported:
Problem in updating Windows 10 – If you can’t download the latest updates due to this error, we suggest that you temporarily switch to the Slow Ring and check if that helps.
Windows 10 update error – Sometimes you might encounter update errors due to your antivirus. If that’s the case, disable your antivirus and check if the problem is still there.
Windows 10 update failed loop – According to users, this issue can occur if you’re using a metered connection. To fix this problem, simply turn this feature off.
Windows 10 update always fails – This issue can occur for various reasons, but you should be able to fix it using one of our solutions.
Solution 1 – Switch to the Slow Ring temporarily
If you’re having problems with error 0x8020000f and you can’t install the latest build, you might want to consider switching to the Slow Ring temporarily. To do that, follow these steps:
Open the Settings app. The quickest way to do that is to press Windows Key + I shortcut.
Now go to the Update & Security section.
Go to Advanced options and change the Update Fast Ring option to Slow Ring
Close the window and open the Windows Update Center again
Go to Advanced options and change back to Fast Ring. Next time you open the Windows Update Center, the update procedure will start immediately.
After making these changes, the problem should be resolved and you’ll be able to install the latest updates.
Solution 2 – Check your antivirus
If you can’t install the latest Windows 10 build due to error 0x8020000f, the problem might be your antivirus. Your antivirus can sometimes interfere with certain Windows features and it can cause this and other errors to appear.
To fix the problem, it’s advised that you check your antivirus settings and disable certain features. In some cases, you might even have to completely disable your antivirus. In case this doesn’t work, your next step would be to uninstall your antivirus.
Even if you remove your third-party antivirus, you’ll still be protected by Windows Defender, so there’s no need to worry about your safety. After you remove the antivirus, check if the problem is still there.
If removing the antivirus solves your problem, perhaps this might be a good time to consider a new antivirus software.
There are many great antivirus tools on the market, and you will be pleased to know that many of the antiviruses with the highest detection rate don’t interfere with your system.
Solution 3 – Make sure that you’re not using a metered connection
According to users, they weren’t able to install the latest builds due to error 0x8020000f. Apparently, this was caused by the metered connection. In case you don’t know, Windows 10 won’t download any updates while using a metered connection in order to save your monthly data.
However, this can be an issue and prevent you from downloading the latest updates. To fix the issue, you just have to do the following:
Open the Settings app.
When the Settings app opens, navigate to the Network & Internet section.
From the left pane, select Ethernet or Wi-Fi depending on the type of connection you’re using. Now select your connection in the right pane.
Scroll down to the Metered connection section and turn Set as metered connection to Off.
After making this change, check if the problem is still there. Several users reported that after they disabled the metered connection feature, the issue was resolved, so be sure to try that.
Solution 4 – Disconnect all USB devices
Sometimes error 0x8020000f can appear due to your USB peripherals. We have all sorts of USB peripherals connected to our PCs, and sometimes these devices can interfere with the update process. To fix the problem, it’s advised to disconnect all unnecessary USB devices from your PC.
As a rule of thumb, you should just leave your mouse and keyboard connected and try to update again. Other devices such as Wi-Fi adapters can also cause this problem, so you might have to remove your Wi-Fi card and check if that helps. Here’s an article dedicated to fixing Windows Update error 0x8007139f if you are interested.
Solution 5 – Run Disk Cleanup
If you can’t install the latest build due to the 0x8020000f error, you might be able to fix the problem simply by running Disk Cleanup. Sometimes temporary files might be corrupted and they can interfere with the installation process, so it’s advised to remove them. To perform Disk Cleanup, do the following:
Press Windows Key + S and type disk. Select Disk Cleanup from the list.
Select your system drive, by default C. Now click OK.
Your PC will now scan the selected drive.
After the scanning process is finished, select all files on the list and click OK. If you want, you can click the Clean system files button in order to remove additional files.
After cleaning the old files, try to install the update again and check if the problem is still there.
Solution 6 – Run SFC and DISM scans
If your current Windows installation is corrupted, you might encounter 0x8020000f error while installing new builds. This can be a big problem, but you might be able to fix it simply by performing an SFC scan. To do that, follow these steps:
When Command Prompt starts, type sfc /scannow and press Enter to run it.
The SFC scan will now start. The scanning can take about 15 minutes, so don’t interfere with it.
After the scanning process is finished, check if the issue is still there. Sometimes the SFC scan can’t fix the problem, and if that happens, you need to run a DISM scan by doing the following:
Start Command Prompt as an administrator once again.
Enter the DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth command and press Enter to run it.
DISM scan will now start. This scan can take about 20 minutes or more, so be sure not to stop it or interfere with it.
After performing both scans, check if the problem is still there. If you were unable to run the SFC scan before, try running it once again after running the DISM scan.
Another option is to use automated repair software that will make the job a whole lot easier. We recommend these tools because they can repair multiple Windows-related errors, restore your OS, repair malware damage, and more.
Solution 7 – Disable proxy
If you want to protect your privacy online, using a proxy might be one of the simplest ways to do it. However, sometimes your proxy might interfere with certain Windows features, and that can cause error 0x8020000f while installingupdates.
To fix this issue, users are recommending that you disable your proxy and check if that helps. To do that, just follow these simple steps:
Open the Settings app. Now navigate to the Network & Internet section.
Choose Proxy from the left pane. Disable all options in the right pane.
After doing that, your proxy should be completely disabled and the problem will be resolved.
Not being able to download the latest builds due to error 0x8020000f can be quite annoying, but in most cases, you can fix this problem by disabling the metered connection or by switching temporarily to the Slow ring.
Microsoft Publisher is a desktop publishing application brought by Microsoft that puts emphasis on page layout and design.
There are plenty of differences but also similarities between Publisher and Word. As such, it goes without saying that you may also need to print your works after you are done editing them.
Unfortunately, some users have reported that they are experiencing difficulties when trying to print their Publisher works.
Some users reported that they cannot print their works in color, while others stated that they cannot print their works at all.
How do I print Microsoft Publisher works?
1. Test your printer
Type printers and scanners in Windows search and click on the app from the results.
Click the printer you are using and choose Manage.
Click the Print a test page option.
Before putting the blame on Microsoft Publisher, test and see if your printer is working properly. If a test page prints, the device is working properly, and if not, Troubleshoot the issue further.
2. Adjust your printer settings
Click Printer properties in the Settings page of your printer.
Select the Effects tab, if available.
Click Print document on in the Resize Options section.
Select the Scale to Fit check box.
Click OK to apply the changes.
Some printers have this Effects option and setting the right print dimensions can solve the problem with the Publisher app.
3. Print Microsoft Publisher works in color
Open Microsoft Publisher.
Click File and then select Print.
Then confirm that you have the settings to Composite RBG and not Composite Grayscale option.
Check your printer properties to confirm that you have not selected a grayscale option.
If your printer doesn’t print in color from Publisher, check the settings from the app and the printer as indicated in the steps above.
4. Update your printer drivers
4.1 Update the drivers manually
Press Windows Key + R.
Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter to open Device Manager.
Expand Print queues.
Look for the affected printer in the list, right-click it and choose Update driver.
Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Windows will look for any new update for the driver and download it.
4.2 Update the drivers automatically
Updating your drivers manually can take a lot of time depending on your device and it’s not always successful so you might also need to visit the manufacturer’s website to get them.
The alternative is to use dedicated software that will update all your drivers, not just the printer’s in just a few seconds automatically. Try the tool recommended below.
Type control and press enter to open Control Panel.
Go to Programs.
Select Programs and Features.
Locate Microsoft Office and click on Change
Select Quick Repair and click the Repair button.
This problem can also be triggered by some corrupted files inside Microsoft Office so repairing it can also fix this problem for good.
6. Hard reset the printer
Make sure your printer is on and unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the outlet.
Unplug the USB cable from the printer if you have one.
Wait for a couple of minutes (2 or 3), then press and hold the power button of the printer for about 30 seconds.
Plug the power cable back into the printer and directly into an outlet, without any extensions.
Plug back the USB printer, and turn on the printer.
Wait until the printer ends its warm-up and try printing again.
Sometimes, hard resetting the printer can do a great deal in resolving any printing issues you might have so make sure you try that too.
We hope that your solutions helped you fix the Publisher not printing issue and now you can use it properly.
As this issue can also be produced by potentially incorrect settings of your printer, we recommend reading our best printer management software and picking up a preferred solution.
If you have any other solutions, share them in the dedicated comments section below. They might help other users as yourself.
Most peripherals are nowadays connected to the PC via USB. The USB controller or USB host controller is responsible for organizing the USB ports.
If you have problems with USB devices on your PC, but Windows does not specifically point out the lack of a driver, the USB controller displays error messages like The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR1.
If you’re running Windows 10 and have problems with the USB controller or its drivers, this guide provides helpful solutions to solve the problem.
How can I fix The driver detected a controller error?
1. Check the hardware cables
1.1 If only one device is affected
You might have a broken USB cable.
Connect the device with a different USB cable.
Try connecting the device to another computer/laptop or another USB port.
If it doesn’t work here either, then the external device you’re trying to connect is having the issue.
1.2 If several USB devices no longer work correctly
Shut down your PC and remove all the connected USB devices.
Pull off the power plug and leave the PC completely without power for 60 seconds.
Reconnect the power plug and then power up the PC.
While in the Windows interface, reconnect the USB devices one by one, and try them out.
If all the USB devices present the same problem, there may be a hardware defect in the device.
But if this does not work, there might be a driver problem, or the corresponding drivers are simply missing.
It might not be about the cables or the devices themselves. Check our guide on what to do if your USB ports are not working.
2. Reset controller driver to zero
Press the Windows + R key to open Run.
Enter devmgmt.msc and press Enter or click OK.
Once you are in the Device Manager, open the USB Controller category.
The faulty controller should appear here with a yellow warning symbol. Right-click on it and click on Uninstall.
If the uninstall option is not available, go to the Properties of the USB controller.
Go to the Drivers tab and click on the Uninstall button.
Restart your PC.
Windows should now search for a suitable USB driver and install it automatically.
However, various circumstances (damaged files, incorrect file structures or settings, etc.) can cause a problem with the driver.
3. Update your drivers
Press the Windows + R key to open Run.
Enter the following command: devmgmt.msc.
Once you are in the Device Manager, expand the Disk drives.
Locate the driver and right-click on it, then choose Update driver and click OK.
Restart your PC.
Sometimes, updating your drivers manually can become tedious and time consuming. And also, the default drivers might not be the best for your device.
Here are some other similar errors that can be fixed with our solutions above:
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\IDE\IDEport0
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\IDE\IDEport1
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\IDE\IDEport2
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\IDE\IDEport4
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\DR2
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\DR2 b
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk3\DR3
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk4\DR4
It’s essentially the same error that is followed by the name of the port or drive causing this issue.
If your drivers are outdated, you can update them through Device Manager as above mentioned. We also extensively covered this topic in our dedicated Update drivers guide.

In a recent Microsoft blog post, Microsoft’s Raymond Chen explains for all the users out there, exactly how the ownership of the Windows clipboard is tracked in Win32.
This information may prove invaluable to some of the more enthusiastic and tech-savvy Windows users out there, as we are sure you can agree.
Tracking ownership of the Windows clipboard in Win32
As some of you may know, in Win32, there is the concept of a clipboard owner. The intended rule behind all this is that the clipboard owner is , actually, the window that created the data currently on the clipboard.
In this post, Chen also explains the specific usage pattern for putting data on the clipboard. He mentions that the clipboard owner receives a coded message when somebody requests data from the clipboard that had been set as delay-rendered.
These coded messages are also received as part of the window destruction sequence if it is still the owner of the clipboard at the time it is destroyed.
Thus, delay-rendering allows the user to defer the creation of complicated clipboard data up to the point it is requested.
Following the rules is of paramount importance
Raymond Chen mentions the fact that its very important to follow certain rules, when performing this process and points out that not everybody actually does it.
We can understand that, seeing how some programs open the clipboard with the intent of adding data, instead of replacing the content altogether.
Back in the days of 16-bit Windows, the system assumed that applications were honest and played by the rules for the common good.
He goes on by explaining that this bonus clipboard data scenario creates an issue, since there is only one clipboard owner, but there are now two windows who collaborated to put data onto the clipboard.
Ownership of the clipboard changes only under these circumstances, as explained by Chen:
When the empty clipboard command is deployed, the current clipboard opener becomes the clipboard owner.
When the clipboard owner is destroyed, the clipboard owner resets to null.
The only logical conclusion here would be that the clipboard owner can be summarized as the window that most recently called the empty keyboard command if it still exists.
All this useful information can be browsed by reading the complete article submitted on the Microsoft blog.

Microsoft 365 users suddenly realized that they aren’t receiving emails anymore and their inbox folder showed no new notifications.
Much to their surprise, they later discovered that all their emails were being automatically forwarded to the junk folder, for no known reason.
Microsoft Office 365 error sends incoming emails to junk
The support team at Microsoft currently working on solving an Office 365 issue causing Outlook and Exchange Online emails to totally skip recipients’ inboxes and, instead, be forwarded to their junk folders instead.
In their first Twitter report, the tech team from Microsoft stated that they are aware of the issue and are about to perform a more in-depth investigation on the matter.
We’re investigating an issue in which email is being sent to the junk folder. We’ll be providing updates under EX258373 in the admin center.
About an hour later, Microsoft confirmed that the error was the result of some changes they performed and that the issue was being dealt with accordingly.
We’re reverting a change that has caused inbound email to be incorrectly routed to the junk folder. Additional information can be found in the admin center under EX258373
The Microsoft support team says the changes were reverted
In an update posted from the same Twitter account this morning, the Microsoft 365 support team confirmed that they had gotten to the bottom of the situation and all the changes were being reverted.
We've reverted the change and observed successful email delivery. We're now reprocessing any emails that were incorrectly delivered as junk. More info can be found in the admin center under EX258373.

These issues that affected MS Office started twelve hours earlier when the tech company said it was investigating an ongoing problem where some users were unable to forward email messages using Exchange Online.
Apparently, while trying to come up with a solution to this problem, they accidentally caused a series of events that lead to all this conundrum.
We are keeping an eye on this developing story, in order to know exactly if this will still be a problem in the future and, also, what we can do to fix it.
Microsoft announced a big update to improve the shared calendar experience in Outlook for Windows back in July 2019. After being in preview for almost two years, these shared calendar improvements are now rolling out to all Outlook users on Windows.
Microsoft says that this update significantly improves the reliability and sync latency for both shared and delegated calendars in Outlook for Windows. Previously, the shared calendar recipient had to wait a couple of mins to see the new changes, and there was also a slight delay in the calendar’s loading time.
The company has now addressed these issues, as the calendar should instantly appear upon selection, and all the changes will now immediately sync for everyone in the shared calendar. The new shared calendar experience is now available on all major platforms, including the new Outlook for Mac, Outlook for Windows, Outlook on the web, as well as Outlook for iOS and Android.
Microsoft noted that it’s a major update to Outlook for Windows since 1997, and the company has incorporated user feedback to eliminates the issues. “Since summer 2019, we polished the experience and fixed bugs, thanks to many customer reports. With tens of thousands of daily users on the preview, we feel confident now that the experience is going to delight calendar delegates.” the Exchange team explained.
It is important to note that the new shared calendar experience has just started rolling out, and it is only available for select Outlook for Windows users in the Current Channel. The company plans to gradually expand it to everyone in the coming months. If you’re interested, we invite you to check out this support page to learn more about these calendar sync improvements.
The Sims 4 is one of the most popular games in recent years. Nonetheless, the game is, like its predecessor, plagued with lots of bugs and glitches.
Seemingly, the optimization of the game is on the short side with The Sims 4. One of the commonly reported problems concerns stuttering while in the game, especially when panning the camera.
We noted the viable solutions and compiled the list below to help you fix this problem and enjoy the game.
Let’s start with the obvious one. If you have a new PC or laptop, there’s a high probability you have a configuration which can run The Sims 4.
But we need to cover that ground in order to move to more delicate steps. In addition, there’s a possibility that you have an older configuration.
Nonetheless, here are the minimum system requirements for The Sims 4:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ (2.0 GHz Dual-Core required if using integrated graphics)
RAM:4 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or ATI Radeon X1300 or Intel GMA X4500
DIRECTX: DirectX 9.0, 10 and 11 compatible
HDD: 16 GB
Internet connection for product activation
2. Check the drivers
Drivers or in particular GPU driver are essential. And the most complex thing to deal with on Windows 10.
Namely, you may as well have the top-tier GPU, but without the fitting drivers, gaming becomes a glitchy ride. Windows 10 will provide the generic copy of display drivers, but they won’t suffice most of the time.
Not for gaming or legacy cards, at least. What you’ll need to do is to download the proper driver from the official site, provided by the OEM.
Follow one of these links and find yourself a suitable up-to-date driver:
In addition, make sure to install the driver cleanly by deleting the previous display driver from the device. After you’ve dealt with this step, try out the game. If the issue is persistent, continue through the list.
Update the drivers automatically
Of course, you can visit the manufacturer and get the correct drivers but it’s not that simple and it can take some time that you probably don’t have.
The easiest way is to use a dedicated updating tool that will scan your sistem in a couple of seconds, find all the right drivers for your system, not only the GPU’s and update them automatically.
3. Disable online features
Open Origin.
Click on Origin and start the game Offline mode.
In addition, you can click Origin and open Application Settings.
Under the Diagnostics tab, disable Share hardware info.
Under the More,go toOrigin In-Game, and toggle off the Enable Origin In-Game.
Even though The Sims franchise was always about the single-player experience, The Sims 4 was partly produced for the multiplayer.
Since this concept fell apart, the online features of the game are now more of a burden than an advantage. Except, if you’re part of the modding community and running the custom multiplayer mod.
Long story short, disable online features before you start playing the game. This resolved the problem for some users. Just open the game, access the Game settings, and disable Online content.
In addition, disable online features in Origin, too. Follow the steps above to get to the desired result.
4. Check the game’s integrity
Open theOrigin client.
Open My Game Library.
Right-click on The Sims 4 and chooseRepair from the contextual menu.
Wait until the tool verifies the integrity of the game files and close Origin.
Restart your PC and run the game.
Since The Sims 4 is a pretty customization-open game, there’s a chance that something went wrong with the installation files.
The issue here is that you can’t be sure whether that’s the case. However, instead of reinstallation as the first step, you can utilize the tool in the Origin desktop client.
This tool verifies the integrity of the game files. If something is wrong with any of those, it downloads and replaces the damaged files.
5. Switch to the windowed mode or 32-bit version
Open Origin and My Game Library.
Right-click on The Sims 4 and open Game Properties.
Choose theAdvanced Launch Optionstab.
Select The Sims 4 32 Bit from the drop-down menu.
Add-w to the command-line and confirm changes.
Start the game and look for improvements.
There are dozens of threads online about this problem. Where some users succeeded in resolving the stuttering, others failed.
One of the most common solutions includes tweaking advanced launch options. Some users reduced the stuttering by running the game in windowed mode.
Others were more successful with running the game in the 32-bit version. Both can be applied through the Origin desktop client.
Perform the steps above to run The Sims 4 in windowed mode and get rid of the stuttering of the image.
6. Enforce the dedicated graphics and disable Vsync
If you, by any chance, have a dual-GPU configuration, we suggest enforcing The Sims 4 on the dedicated graphics.
Even though the dedicated GPU should, by default, take over from the integrated graphics when the game starts, this transition causes glitches.
Obviously, the loading of the game is disrupted, and stuttering is a possibility.
You can enforce the dedicated Nvidia or ATI graphic in two ways. The first option is applicable through the GPU’s control panel. There you should also globally disable Vsync.
The second is right-clicking on the game’s shortcut and selecting the high-performance graphics from the contextual menu. Just select Run with graphics processor and choose the dedicated card out of the two.
Close the game and the Origins client and restart your PC.
Navigate to the following folder: C:\Users\Your Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\Sims4
Cut the Mods folderand paste it on the desktop.
Start the game and check whether the white screen occurs.
Mods are a vital part of The Sims 4 experience. However, some of them might cause issues with the game’s performance.
They also tend to get corrupt but unfortunately, they can’t be repaired with the Origin’s built-in tool.
And if you have lots of them installed, chances are you’ll have a hard time determining which individual mod is behind the reoccurring stutters.
Therefore, we suggest removing temporarily all mods to determine whether they’re inflicting stutters in the first place.
If that’s indeed the case, you can use the community-built Mode Conflict Detector to determine the culprit and use the steps above to disable the mods temporarily.
8. Reinstall the game and Origin
Finally, try reinstalling both the game and the Origin client and hope for the best. We can confirm, based on the vast presence of this subject online, that this is a big issue.
The game has its share of bugs, just like The Sims 3 was. However, since the majority still can play the game without stuttering, the small part of the problem might be on your side.
Make sure you follow the troubleshooting instructions we provided and, if the game is still suffering from constant stutters, contact the developer on the official forum.

What version of Windows 10 are you using? Let us know all about it in the comments section below.
Microsoft is constantly trying to supply users with a more stable and secure system by performing more frequent updates for Windows 10.
On the other hand, those users listed over 30 errors related to Windows 10’s system update. And some of those are a tough nut to crack.
One of those annoying errors is linked with the code 0x8024a10a. According to numerous users, this error occurs both on PCs and Windows-powered smartphones. It completely shuts down the update process.
On the other side, Microsoft is not addressing it as it should. So, we’ll try and clear things up with this article.
How to fix Windows 10 Update error 0x8024a10a
Windows update error 0x8024a10a can prevent you from installing the latest updates, and that can be a security concern. Speaking of this error, here are some similar issues users reported:
Windows 10 not updating, cannot update – The main problem with this error is that it will prevent you from updating your PC, but you should be able to fix it by using one of our solutions.
Update error 0x8024a10a laptop – This issue affects both laptop and desktop PC, and if you encounter it, you might be able to fix it by temporarily disabling your antivirus.
0x8024a10a Windows 10 update – According to users, this error occurs mostly while trying to download new updates. To fix the problem, reset Windows Update components and check if that helps.
Solution 1 – Disable Your Antivirus
Some users reported that, on some occasions, third-party antimalware software slowed down or even stops the Windows update process.
Using an antivirus tool is important if you want to protect your PC from online threats, but sometimes your antivirus can interfere with your system and cause this error to occur.
To fix the problem, it’s advised to disable certain antivirus features and check if that helps. If that doesn’t work, your next step would be to disable your antivirus altogether.
Even if you decide to do that, you’ll still be protected by Windows Defender, so you don’t have to worry about your safety.
If the error code still appears, you might have to remove your antivirus to solve this problem. If removing the antivirus fixes the issue, it might be a good time to consider switching to a different antivirus solution with maximum protection that won’t interfere with your system.
Additionally, it is a good idea to disable your VPN while updating.
Solution 2 – Perform the System File Checker
System File Checker (SFC) is the built-in tool that helps you scan and repair various system files. Mostly due to virus infections, your files may get corrupted or incomplete.
If the update worked well before, and then stopped for no apparent reason, SFC may be just the tool for the job. You can use System File Checker this way:
Press Windows key + X and run Command Prompt (Admin).
In the command line, type sfc/scannow
The process should last for approximately 5 minutes.
After it’s done, restart your PC and try updating again.
If the SFC scan was unsuccessful, you might want to try using a DISM scan instead. DISM is an acronym for Deployment Image Servicing and Management.
The main task of the DISM is to scan and fix corrupted files related to Windows Update. To use DISM, just follow these steps:
Press Windows key + X and start Command Prompt (Admin).
In the command line type following command: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
In case the DISM can’t obtain files online, try using your installation USB or DVD. Insert media and type following command:
Be sure to replace ”C:RepairSourceWindows” path of your DVD or USB.
The operation should last no more than 5 minutes.

Many users still use Eudora as their email client, but many reported Eudora authentication failederror. We have already shared common problems and fixes for Eudora, but in this article, we take a look at the possible solutions to fix the Eudora authentication failed/required error.
One of the common causes of Eudora authentication failederror is caused by an incorrect port configuration for SMTP. Find the correct port for your network provider and then proceed with the steps below.
Launch Eudora and go to Tools.
Click on Options > Ports. By default, the port is set to 25, make sure you enter correct Port for your provider.
Check Allow authentication option under the SMTP server section.
Next, you need to modify the deudora.ini file and disable CRAM-MD5. Here is how to do it.
Go to C:ProgramFiles(x86) QualcommEudora (64-bit Windows) or C:ProgramFilesQualcommEudora (32-bit Windows)
Locate a file named deudora.ini. Double-click to open the file in Notepad.
Add the following line of code before the [Settings] line.
SmtpAuthBanished=CRAM-MD5
Press Ctrl + S to save the file and close it.
Launch Eudora and check if the authentication problem is resolved.
If you’re still having Eudora authentication failederror, try a different combination of ports that are available for your email server.
Launch Eudora and go Options > Port.
Check use submission port (587). Under Secure socket when sending, select Required STARTTLS.
Test for any improvement. If none, follow the next step.
Uncheck Use submission port (587). Under Secure sockets when sending, select Never. Try again to see if the mail client works. It not, follow the next step.
Make sure that the Use submission port (587) is unchecked. Select Required, alternate port option.
3. Diagnose port blocking
If a security program installed on your computer is blocking the ports from creating a connection with the mail server, then disabling the security programs such as firewall and antivirus can do the trick.
However, to know if the program is blocking the ports, you can start the terminal and run telnet.
Press Windows Key + R. Type cmd and hit Enter.
In the command prompt, enter the following command and hit enter:
telnet smtp.gn.apc.org 25
If you see the message 220 mail.gn.apc.org ESMTP Postfix [ NO UBE C=GB ] You are neither permitted nor authorized to transmit unsolicited bulk email (spam) using this server, it means the ports are working fine.
If you don’t see the message, follow the next solution to disable security programs on your computer.
Note: Telnet might be disabled by default on the newer version of Windows, including Windows 10.
If you get Telnet is not recognized as an internal or external command message here is how to enable Telnet on Windows 7 and above PCs.
If you have an antivirus with an active firewall installed, it can cause Eudora authentication failederror. One way to troubleshoot compatibility issues it to turn off the firewall temporarily.
If you don’t have antivirus firewall activated, turn off Windows Defender Firewall. Here is how to do it.
Type Firewall in the Search/Cortana bar and select Firewall and Network Protection.
Click on your current active network. In this case, it is a Private Network.
Click on the small toggle switch to turn off Window Defender Firewall.
Launch Eudora again and try to send an email. If the issue is still there, move to the next solution.
5. Disable antivirus
The antivirus program may incorrectly block genuine connections on your computer due to suspicious activity.
If you have an antivirus program installed, try to disable the antivirus for a limited time. Most of the antivirus allows you to turn off the protection for an hour or more. In case your antivirus is the problem, perhaps you should consider switching to Bitdefender.
This antivirus offers great protection, and it won’t interfere with your system in any way, so be sure to try it out.
Eudora is still one of the most popular email clients among its users, but the lack of development means the problems can remain unsolved for years. Nevertheless, we hope you fixed the Eudora authentication failederror using our solutions.
One of the simplest ways to protect your images online is to add a watermark.
This is relatively simple, but sometimes you need to add a watermark to multiple pictures at the same time. In order to help you with this task, we’re going to show you the best batch watermark software for Windows 10.
What is the best watermark software for Windows 10?
We have to mention from the very beginning that Photoshop, as you certainly know, is not just a watermark software, but a powerful photo editor.
In fact, it is the most popular imaging tool and the industry’s standard when it comes to photo processing and graphic design software.
It makes no difference if you want to add a single watermark to a photo or, let’s say, to 100 images – the integrated Watermark panel will be up for the job.
Due to its complex editing features, you can easily customize your watermark with both text and graphics and even play with an unlimited number of layers and masks to achieve truly impressive results.
Combine text layers and adjust the size of the text, color, font, style, and more to design a watermark as unique as the images you intend to protect.
You can batch process multiple files using the Image Processor and you can also try out the Digimarc Barcode, a unique digital identifier that communicates image copyright protection.
Based on patented digital watermarking technology, the Digimarc Barcode has no pixel limitations for watermarking, you might nevertheless want to pay attention to details such as file compression and color separation.
You can adjust the watermark’s durability to suit the needs of your photos.
Adobe Photoshop
Add more than just watermarks to your photos: a whole set of effects and stylized elements are available in this fully featured tool.
Visual Watermark is another watermarking tool that can batch watermark up to 50,000 photos. According to the developers, the tool uses up to four processor cores while editing images so you’ll achieve the desired results quickly.
It’s also worth mentioning that this application has an auto-resize tool that will fix any problems with cropped and full-size images that are in the same batch. As a result, your watermark will appear on any image, regardless of its size.
Regarding watermarks, you can use text or images, and you can even combine the two to achieve some impressive results.
If you want, you can change the opacity of your watermark or you can even use the tilled watermark to protect an entire image.
Visual Watermark supports up to 260 fonts and 66 different effects, so you can fully customize your watermark. If you want to speed up the watermarking process you can use one of the 12 available templates.
The tool also allows you to add copyright metadata to your images. It’s worth mentioning that this tool can resize your photos or rename them after adding the watermark.
By doing so you will easily optimize your images for web upload and distinguish the processed images.
Visual Watermark offers a great user interface, so it will be perfect for basic users.
You can download the trial version for free, but if you want to unlock all features such as watermark templates, fonts, and an unlimited number of watermarks, you’ll have to purchase a Plus or Premium version.
Watermark Software is a simple tool that will let you add watermarks to multiple pictures simultaneously. You can easily add text as a watermark, but you can also use images.
Regarding text, you can change the size, color, font, etc. We have to mention that this tool also supports blending modes similar to Photoshop and other image editing tools, so you can achieve some impressive results.
If you want, you can even use tiled text that will cover an entire image thus providing the strongest protection.
Watermark Software allows you to add multiple texts and images so you can create some advanced watermarks. In addition to images and text, you can also add a QR code to your images to protect them.
It’s worth mentioning that Watermark Software supports EXIF watermarks, so you can add a hidden watermark to your images as well.
The tool also allows you to create templates so you don’t have to repeat the same process all over again. Watermark Software can also upload all processed images to your server once it adds watermarks to them.
It’s also worth mentioning that this tool supports Smart Fit feature, so the size of the watermark will be automatically adjusted so it can work with smaller images.
The tool also allows you to add various effects to your images, and you can achieve some interesting results. In addition to effects, you can add various frames to your pictures.
Watermark Software also supports image resizing feature and you can easily resize all your images without using any additional tools.
This tool can also rename all your images, so you can easily distinguish edited images that have a watermark on them.
Watermark Software is a great and simple tool and it supports all major image formats such as JPG, GIF, BMP, PNG, TGA, TIF, ICO, PCX, etc.
Unfortunately, this isn’t a free application, and even though you can try the free version, you’ll need to purchase a license if you want to continue using this software.
If you need to add watermark to multiple images, you might want to consider Arclab Watermark Studio.
This is a simple tool that supports multiple watermark layers. As a result, you can combine both text and images in order to create a unique watermark.
This tool also works with image metadata and it supports popular image formats such as JPEG, PNG, TIFF and BMP. The application also supports image resizing and you can resize the image after you add a watermark or even change its format and quality.
This is a decent tool, but it comes with a user interface that isn’t welcoming to new users. In order to place your watermark you need to choose between 30 predefined positions.
By doing so you can achieve some interesting results, but unfortunately you aren’t able to freely move the watermark with your mouse.
In order to move the watermark you need to set the padding value which isn’t the most user-friendly solution.
Arclab Watermark Studio is a solid tool that can add watermarks to multiple images quickly. The biggest flaw of this tool is its user interface and the inability to freely position or rotate your watermark with mouse.
The test version is available for download, but in order to remove the default watermark you’ll need to purchase a full version.
Protecting your images with a watermark is quite simple, and if you need to protect multiple images, uMark might be the perfect tool for you.
According to the developer, you can add watermark to hundreds of pictures in just few minutes with a single click of the button.
In addition to text and image watermark, you can also add shapes and QR codes to protect your images. uMark also supports a certain level of image editing and you can easily add border and shadow in order to make certain parts of your image stand out.
Regarding the text watermark, you can add watermark macros, special characters, etc. You can even add certain text effects. The text can be tiled horizontally or vertically and you can adjust the spacing and position.
Regarding the position, you can choose between nine predefined positions, but you can also freely move the watermark with your mouse. Unfortunately, there isn’t an option to rotate the watermark with your mouse.
We have to mention that you can also save your watermarks for later use, which is great if you need to use them later for different projects. All your elements are added as layers and you can easily modify or remove them.
uMark comes with a simple user interface, so first time users won’t have any issues with it. The tool also allows you to resize and rename your pictures after you add watermark to them.
uMark is a solid tool, so be sure to download the free trial version.
Alamoon Watermark is a free watermark software that can add watermarks to multiple images. This is a simple tool and it doesn’t have any special features.
You can change the standard options such as opacity, font size, and color. Unfortunately, you can’t rotate your watermark. The tool allows you to position the watermark with your mouse which is rather useful.
If you want, you can also position the watermark by changing its position values manually.
Alamoon Watermark also allows you to resize images and change their file format after adding the watermark. Unfortunately, there’s no option to rename the images.
It’s also worth mentioning that you can’t add an image as a watermark which is a big flaw in our opinion. Another flaw that can turn away some users is the inability to use a tiled text watermark.
Alamoon Watermark is a basic watermark tool so it comes with the most basic options. The tool is completely free, so it will be perfect for basic users. In addition to the free version, there’s also a Pro version available that offers more advanced features.
Another tool that can add watermarks to multiple images is Star Watermark. This tool comes with a humble user interface and after you add your images you can adjust your watermark.
Using this tool you can add both image and text watermarks. Of course, you can change the font and the location of the watermark.
One major flaw with this tool is the inability to move your watermark freely with a mouse, so you’ll have to choose between several available locations and then enter the offset and rotation value.
You can make your watermark transparent, but you can also add shadow to it so it stands out on bright images. If you want, you can also repeat the text watermark across the image.
You can customize your watermark with 3D text or gradient text effect, but unfortunately, these options aren’t available in all versions. Another flaw of this tool is the inability to see the watermark on your images during the editing process.
You can preview your images after you create a watermark, but won’t be able to see your image during the editing process and instead, you’ll create your watermark using a default background.
After you create your watermark, you can resize or rename your files which is rather useful. There are three versions of this tool and they all have different features.
The free version offers the most basic features while the Ultimate version allows you to add multiple layers and gradient text.
Star Watermark is a decent tool, but it comes with a confusing user interface that might turn away some users. If you’re looking for a basic and free tool to add watermarks to your images, you might find Star Watermark useful.
Total Watermark Professional comes with a visually appealing user interface, so it will be perfect for basic users. The tool also has photo rename, photo resize, and photo crop options.
In addition, you can even change the format of your images after you add watermark to them. If you want, you can also adjust the quality of your images and change other format-related settings.
Regarding watermarks, you can add multiple text or image watermark to your images. As for text watermarks, you can change their size, color, font, and you can even add the contour, stroke, or shadow effects.
Unfortunately, you can’t position your watermark with the mouse, so you’ll have to position and rotate it by entering the specific values.
It’s worth mentioning that every watermark is represented by a layer, so you can combine different images and text to create the perfect watermark for your images.
Total Watermark Professional has a solid user interface and it offers a wide range of features. Our only complaint is the inability to change the position of your watermark easily with a mouse, but we hope that this minor flaw will be fixed in future versions.
Total Watermark Professional is available for download as a free trial, so you might want to try it out.
The first thing you’ll notice about BatchPhoto app is its simple and modern interface. The application is simple to use and you can add watermarks to your pictures in three simple steps.
First you need to choose the pictures you want to edit. The application has a preview pane available so you can easily preview your pictures before you make any changes.
After you choose your images you can add various filters to them. You can add comments, current date, watermark text, or a watermark logo. In addition, you can also rotate, crop, replace colors, flip, and resize your images.
If needed, you can also adjust contrast, gamma, levels, and brightness. As for additional photo editing features, you can adjust the color balance, hue and saturation, reduce noise or sharpen your images.
You can also apply various visual effects or decorate your photos with borders, shadows, or picture frames.
It’s worth mentioning that every effect can be adjusted, and you can also combine multiple filters. To make the editing process faster, you can save your effects as presets and apply them later with a single click.
You can also add new names for edited images. As for renaming, you can assign numbers, append date or time or even replace certain strings.
After choosing the desired effects, you need to choose the destination for your images. You can save them to your PC, send via email, upload to Facebook or Flickr or upload them to a web server using FTP.
If needed, you can change the format of your images as well. As for supported formats, the application supports up to 70 different image formats.
BatchPhoto is an amazing tool that can add watermarks to your pictures, but it can also rename, edit and apply various effects to them.
The application is straightforward, so you’ll add watermarks and edit your images with ease. This tool is free to download, but it will add its own watermark to all your images.
If you want to remove this watermark, you’ll need to purchase a license.
It’s pretty easy to create and apply a watermark, right? Well, not quite, not if you want aesthetic results and 123 Watermark is known for beautiful results.
And it’s fast too, because it can apply watermarks to 1,000 images at once with just one click of the mouse.
You can even get your images online and save your settings for the next batch of artfully done watermarks.
This tool is extremely easy to learn and use. You can get professional watermarks in just minutes, with only a few clicks.
With 123 Watermark you’re not just applying watermarks, you can use text and borders, you can emboss images and many more.
As this is a cloud-based tool, it can work better if you upload your images in a service like Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive so you can access them faster.
Do you want to apply logos or QR codes on your images? It’s extremely easy to do that with 123 Watermark in just a few moves.
You can also combine layers and profiles, but you can use counters and EXIF data in watermarks as well. And after you’re done, convert and resize your images to your desired specifications.
Protecting your images online is very important, and batch watermark software is the simplest way to achieve this result. If you’re looking for a bulk watermark tool, we strongly recommend that you try some of the solutions listed above.

Windows 10 World of Tanks review, tips and tricks
If you’re an armored warfare fan, World of Tanks will hit the spot because it’s the only team-based MMO action game involving tanks.
So, you can step right into a World War II scenarios with your equally eager teammates to bring the victory to your side.
You can play with an increasing arsenal of more than 150 vehicles from all the countries that played a vital role in the war, including Germany, England, America, and the Soviet Union.
Eventually, forget the play and just look at the tanks because they are incredibly detailed in their graphics, movement, and even sounds.
You can actually do that in some sort of sandbox where you can test and upgrade the vehicles and weapons before launching into the battle.
Download World of Tanks
This is a strategy game so you should see what vehicle and weapons suit you best for the mission at hand.
You can either choose a light tank that will breach faster through enemy lines and surprize the opponent in its weak spot.
You can also go for medium-sized tanks that have all the perks needed for a solid advance, or you can snipe away the enemies with a heavy and long-range tank.
The hard part is, in fact, creating a team that collaborates and actually carries out a coherent strategy to surprize and overcome the enemy.
So, as within the real battle, communication and coordination are key. Of course, you can also be the maverick that turns the battle around with his incredible skill.
World of Tanks
Get the most spectacular armored warfare action game in the MMO realm and join the battle.
World of Tanks received some massive improvements earlier and a new awesome version of the game which is World of Tanks Blitz. You can download it and play it for free on your Windows 10 PC.
Top tips for the beginners in WoT
How do you pick up a tank?
The key is to prepare for the battle with the right weapon. So, you need to study the mission and, more than that, the terrain.
Just like in a real battle, you need to adapt the armored vehicle to the terrain you’re moving into.
If you have long distances to travel or you need to get from one point to another fast, it’s better to pick a light, fast-moving tank that will get you quickly to the designated point.
If you’re fighting within a city, you will need to go for a heavy tank, with strong armor on the front side, where you can get damaged.
You won’t need to travel a lot so it’s more important to have the strength and firepower to survive more time.
If you don’t have time to study the tech specs of the tanks and you’re a beginner, go for the British and American tanks because they are pretty good for early on in the game.
Follow the strategy of your team
In a battle, you need to remember that you play as a team not as a lone gunner. Depending on the terrain, the mission and strategy, everybody has to pull its weight.
So, you need to pick a vehicle that your team needs. For instance, you can be the eyes of the team and do some reconnaissance and spot the enemy positions.
You will need a light tank that you can augment with optics that will provide you with increased viewing range. Of course, you will also need to communicate the info to the team.
If you’re more of a loner, you can rather assume the sniping job on the team and choose a heavier gun and destroy the targets from afar.
How to hit your targets more efficient
It’s not a secret that you will have more accurate shots with a smaller reticule on your gun. Also, you should go for a shorter aiming time (the speed for the reticule to get smaller).
But more important is where you hit your target. Knowing your target and its vulnerabilities is extremely important. Hitting a very heavy tank on its front will not get you many hit points.
And remember that most of the time, the element of surprise in a tank battle can be decisive. Once you hit your enemy, you will reveal your position.
You need to take in consideration all the aspects like reloading times, magazines, yours and the opponents. Be always on the move and be patient when taking your shots.
What are the best tanks in World of Tanks?
Based on the popularity and characteristics, the tanks can be also classified as attacking and defending tanks. Let’s take a look at short lists with the best of them.
Best tanks for attacking
The best-ranked tank for attacking is the Soviet’s T-44. However popular in the game, they were only 570 produced and it was never thrown into combat.
The second spot is also held by a U.S.S.R. tank produced starting in 1945, the IS-3. The next year, its production was cancelled with only 1170 tanks produced.
Surprisingly enough, we have a heavy french tank in the next place called AMX M4 MLE. 49. Its development started right after WWII but the tank never reached production.
CHARIOTEER is the upgraded version of the British Cromwell tank. The update was a new turret, and a 20-pounder 83.4-mm caliber gun that transformed into a powerful weapon.
Another tank that was only seen in blueprints is UDES 14 ALT 5, developed by Bofors. It features a gun autoloader and hydraulic suspension.
Best tanks for defense
The most popular defense tank in the game is the VK 100.01 (P), a heavy version of the Maus. It never saw production although it does a pretty good job in the virtual battle.
In the second place, we have a german artillery carrier called RHM.-Borsig WAFFENTRÄGER. Its development was seized in the middle of 1944 due to its excessive weight and high cost.
Next, we have the M40/M43 American tank whose production started in early 1944. It was designed after the M4 Sherman and had a 155-mm M1 gun and 203-mm M1 howitzer.
Another surprise comes from the light Panhard AML Lynx 6X6 French tank that came with a six-wheel-drive suspension and powerful armament.
Canon d’assaut de 105 is another french effective tank destroyer that will help you a lot in your defense. The plans featured a powerful 105-mm gun, but no prototype was built.
You can choose from an increasingly number of vehicles to play with so this is just a short classification based on the most popular tanks used by the players.
Best tips on how to get more credits
Identify the best paying battles
You probably realized that the credit battle earnings are different from one battle to another. You probably also noticed that the different vehicles can be more profitable.
Of course, the top-earning vehicles are the premium ones, but they are also more expensive to repair. The lower-tier vehicles are less rich in profits, but they are cheaper to repair.
So, you will need to make a balance based on your skills and possibilities to get yourself the optimum amount of credits.
Sell your old stuff
After a while, with experience, you will notice that you have some rusty old vehicles that you never play with. You can sell them right away for credits.
Another credits resource can be the Depot where you can get rid of unused equipment and consumables. You can also sell the decals on your tanks for credits if you’re that short.
Team up with a Premium WoT account owner
When you team up with a player who has a Premium account, you will earn more credits even if you don’t have it yourself.
So, try to go with them on special missions in weekends that can also drop some valuable goods too.
Use the referral program
If you invite a friend to WoT you will get some bonuses. If you’re playing as a Platoon with the newly referred player, you will get 50% more credits, and XP and he will get 100% more!
But if he plays alone, he will only get 50% more of each per battle. Unfortunately, you will not receive any bonuses for playing alone.
To get the referral bonus you will first need to get the referral code by logging into your game and then invite a player using that code.

Since it was first added to Windows, back in 2018 as part of the Fall Creators Update, the Timeline feature was considered extremely useful by users, as it helped them manage all the activities on their machine.
We can only imagine that many will certainly not be pleased with this new decision but, as Microsoft so eloquently put it, its time to look towards the future.
Windows 10 users can no longer update Timeline anymore
Users will no longer be able to update their Timeline if they are using a Microsoft account.
Not long ago, this change only applied to the preview builds of Windows 10 version 21H2. However, it seems that Microsoft is making this adjustment more global and permanent.
Keep in mind that this modification will also apply to the users that are currently running the Windows 10 October 2020 update.
Starting in July 2021, if you have your activity history synced across your devices through your Microsoft account (MSA), you’ll no longer have the option to upload new activity in Timeline. You’ll still be able to use Timeline and see your activity history (information about recent apps, websites, and files) on your local device.
Some accounts will still be able to use the feature
Even though the this cross-sync feature will no longer be available to the general public, Microsoft announced that they are not planning to remove the Timeline interface from Windows 10 completely.
Timeline will still be a working integration for the users with AAD (Automated Application Development) accounts.
We are not exactly sure what will happen to this feature in the near future., but remember that there are other ways in which you can perform the same actions, using other software, such as Chromium Edge, Office, or OneDrive.
What’s your opinion on these new changes planned by Microsoft? Let us know in the comments section below.

GPT-3 will be integrated into Microsoft Power Apps, is a low code app development platform that enables everyone, from people with little to no programming experience, to “citizen developers” to professional developers with deep programming expertise to build powerful applications that can improve business productivity and processes more efficiently.
It’s one of the first implementations showing how GPT-3, running on Microsoft Azure platform and powered by Azure Machine Learning that can solve real world business needs on an enterprise scale, Microsoft said.
“Using an advanced AI model like this can help our low code tools become even more widely available to an even bigger audience by truly becoming what we call no code,” said Charles Lamanna, corporate vice president for Microsoft’s low code application platform.
Built by OpenAI, an independent AI research and deployment company, GPT-3 is a massive natural language model that runs exclusively on Azure.
In 2019, Microsoft formed an exclusive partnership with OpenAI to build new Azure AI supercomputing technologies that would accelerate breakthroughs in AI, from jointly developing the first supercomputer on Azure. Microsoft has the exclusive license to the code behind the GPT-3 model that allows it to integrate the technology directly into its products.
With the new GPT-3-powered features, a person can get the same result by typing plainspoken language like “Show 10 orders that have stroller in the product name and sort by purchase date with newest on the top.”
The features doesn’t replace the need for the person to understand the code they’re implementing, but is designed to assist users learning the Power Fx programming language and help them choose the right formulas to get the results they need. This rapidly expands the access to more advanced app building and training of low cost tools.
Last year, OpenAI released an Azure-powered API that enables developers to explore GPT-3 capabilities. Since then it has been used to do everything from writing poetry or tweets to generating articles, summarizing emails, answering trivia questions and generating computer code from plain language.
The Power Platform team uses Azure Machine Learning managed endpoints, a new capability announced in preview at Build that helps users to deploy models of all sizes in Azure without needed to manage underlying compute infrastructure. In one of their first internal use cases, the Microsoft product team is using it to deploy and manage the GPT-3 model that the team is using to offer new capabilities to Power Apps users. The team also added filters to help detect sensitive or inappropriate content in any results that might get returned.
“In all cases, there is a human in the loop… This isn’t at all about replacing developers, it’s about finding the next 100 million developers in the world.” – says Lamanna, corporate vice president for Microsoft’s low code application platform.
The Power Platform team worked closely with the Azure AI team to fine tune a GPT-3 model using Azure Machine Learning that could translate between natural language and Power Fx expressions. Microsoft plans to infuse Power Fx into other tools within Power Platform, as the company plans to expand natural language features by GPT-3 into those products as well.
The Power Platform team, which also works on low code tools to boost business productivity such as Power BI, Power BI, Power Automate and Power Virtual Agents, quickly realized that GPT-3’s ability to translate conversational language into code could help advance the democratization of software development that makes it more easy for many users.
The new features has been announced at Build and will be available in public preview in the English language throughout North America by the end of June.
By reading about other people’s mistakes and by sometimes learning the hard way, we are all aware that the internet is not exactly the safest place.
One simple click can cause major leaks and losses if we don’t keep our eyes wide open. Being smart is being safe in this ever-growing online world, so avoid all suspicious sites and offers you might come accross,
New phishing scheme discovered via Steam
According to the Reddit post submitted today by one of the users, a simple action that he was asked to perform on Steam for a fellow gamer, almost resulted in him losing his account.
Trying not to arouse any suspicions, the innocent request urged the user to just vote for a gaming team. When trying to do so though, what he discovered was a bigger surprise than he expected.
However, in order to perform this action, you have to use Steam OAuth to log in, which is pretty much a common thing among verified websites.
The trick was that, after you clicked on Sign in via Steam, another virtual popup window would open inside the original tab.
This gives most users the impression that they are using the correct steam URL and that it’s completely safe to input the credentials.
Because the Valve corporation name and icon, as well as other elements of the original website’s UI are present, it becomes easier to trick the unsuspecting into providing personal information.
What surprised me was the quality of trick!
2FA data sent to the attackers
The post author on Reddit continues to explain that, in case anyone went through with this sign up process, the loss of the Steam account would be almost a certain thing.
If users had the 2FA option enabled, actually inputting the security code that they received on their phone, could lead to total account takeover, as they would have all the information they need.
Although the Steam platform isn’t commonly used to perform such schemes, its not uncommon. Malicious third parties will never stop concocting new ways to trick you out of your possesions.
So, what we can learn from this situation is that we should never provide our personal information to any suspicious or unverified websites.
Using the latest antivirus software can save us the trouble of having to restore potential damage caused by all sorts of malintent, or try and recuperate lost data.
Always make sure to keep track of where you choose to make such precious information available, in order to avoid data loss or other leaks.

We continue our series of articles about problems in the Surface Pro 4. After solving (or at least trying to solve) waking up problems in our previous article, we move on to another common Surface Pro 4 issue.
This time, we’re going to talk about the annoying screen dimming problem on Surface Pro 4, and how to (try to) solve it.
A few things can cause the screen dimming problem with Surface Pro 4, so we’ll cover all of them. If you’re also facing this annoying problem, check our solutions below.
Also, here are a few more problems you can solve with the same solutions:
Surface Pro 4 screen brightness keeps changing – It’s possible for the Surface Pro 4’s screen to keep changing brightness without your permission. In fact, it’s actually a common issue.
DPST Surface Pro 4 – Intel’s DPST (Display Power Saving Technology) is actually a known culprit for the screen dimming problem on Surface Pro 4 devices.
Surface Pro 4 brightness not changing – This is actually the reverse problem, where users can’t change the screen brightness
How do I fix the screen dimming issue on the Surface Pro 4?
Go to Search, type power, and open Power & sleep settings.
Now click on Advanced power settings.
Next to your selected power plan, tap or click on Change plan settings.
Now, go to Change advanced power settings.
Expand Display and expand Enable adaptive brightness.
Now set both On battery and Plugged in to off.
Click OK.
Adaptive brightness is a tricky thing. This feature can be extremely useful, in terms of saving power, but sometimes, it can also be troublesome.
In case you don’t know how this feature works, adaptive brightness scans your surroundings and automatically sets your screen brightness based on a level of lightness around you.
As we said, adaptive brightness can go wild sometimes, causing various issues on a device, including the screen dimming problem.
So, if you’re facing the screen problem, you should try disabling the adaptive brightness feature, and see if the issue is resolved.
Once you disable the adaptive brightness feature, the problem with screen dimming on your Surface Pro 4 device will hopefully be solved.
However, if the issue is still present after disabling adaptive brightness, try the solution from below.
2. Disable the Intel graphics features
Go to Search, type regedit, and open Registry Editor.
Go to the following path: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMControlSet001ControlClass{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}000]
Now, open the DWORD called FeatureTestControl, and change its value from 9a40 to 9a50.
Restart your computer.
Another feature that’s similar to adaptive brightness can cause your Surface Pro 4’s screen to dim.
That feature is Intel’s Display Power Saving Technology or DPST, which adjusts your screen brightness based on how dark or light the content on the screen is.
So, adaptive brightness scans your surroundings to adjust brightness, and DPST scans what’s actually on the screen.
Of course, the solution is to turn DPST off, as well, but that won’t be as easy as disabling adaptive brightness.
Some older PCs have the option to disable DPST via Intel’s driver configuration software, but unfortunately, that software is not available on the Surface line of tablets.
So, it’s impossible to legitimately disable this feature on your Surface Pro 4. However, there’s an alternative way of doing that, by using one registry tweak.
So, if you want to disable Intel Display Power Saving Technology on your Surface Pro 4, perform the steps above.
Once you perform this action, Intel’s DPST will be disabled, and potential screen dimming issues will be solved.
3. Check for updates, and make sure your drivers are up to date
Microsoft releases new updates for devices from its Surface line quite often. So, there’s a chance that Microsoft or Intel pushed a new update for the Surface Pro 4 before you found this article.
Just in case, head over to Settings, select Updates & Security, and check for updates.
The same thing applies to your Surface Pro 4’s graphics card. Go to the Device manager, and check if a new version of a graphics driver for your device is available.
Update drivers automatically
It is very important to choose the right driver versions from the manufacturer’s website. In case you choose and install the wrong one, this will not only be an issue for the GPU but may harm all your system.
The tool recommended below is safe, quick, and it will update all your drivers automatically in a single action with no effort from your part.
Go to Search, type devicemngr, and go to Device Manager.
Under Display adapters, right-click your graphics card, and go to Properties.
Head over to the Drivertab.
Click Roll back driver, and follow further on-screen instructions.
Restart your computer.
Contrary to the previous solution, the newest driver may actually do more harm than good. If it doesn’t compliment the other drivers, there could be problems.
In that case, the best decision is to just roll back to an older, working version of the driver.
NOTE
Note:If the Roll back driver option is grayed out, that means there’s no previous driver available. In that case head over to Microsoft’s website, and look for some older drivers for your Surface Pro 4.
5. Set the DPI size
Go to Settings.
Head over to System and select Display.
Now, go to Custom scaling, and you’ll see a screen like this:
Now, choose one of these three options and save the changes:
Smaller – 100% = 96 DPI (Pixels/Dots Per Inch)
Medium – 125% = 120 DPI (Pixels/Dots Per Inch)
Larger – 150% = 144 DPI (Pixels/Dots Per Inch)
Adjusting DPI (dots per inch) can also play a role in resolving screen problems on Windows laptops or PCs. This option should be set to the best settings. However, there could be some interference.
6. Update Windows
As it’s the case with all Windows-related products, Microsoft delivers updates for the Surface Pro 4 through Windows Update.
So, make sure to always keep your device up to date, because there could be some important updates you can’t afford to miss. And by important updates, we think patches and hotfixes for problems like this one.
To check for new updates, simply go to Settings, select Updates & Security, and check for updates.
7. Remove the latest Windows update
Go to Settings.
Head over to Updates & Security and click on Windows Update.
Go to Update history and Uninstall updates.
Now, find the latest update installed on your computer (you can sort updates by date), right-click it, and go to Uninstall.
Restart your computer.
Contrary to the previous solution, it’s also possible that the very update you just installed caused the screen dimming problem on your Surface Pro 4.
Because, well, Microsoft’s updates aren’t always that perfect. To uninstall the previously installed Windows 10 update, follow the instructions above.
8. Change the refresh rate
Go to Settings.
Now, head over to System, select Display, and then Display Adapter Properties.
Go to the Monitor tab.
Make sure the Screen refresh rate is set to 60 Hz.
And finally, the last thing we’re going to try is changing the display refresh rate. Although this shouldn’t directly affect the screen, you can try it if none of the previous solutions worked.
You have nothing to lose. Follow the steps above on how to change the refresh rate of your Surface Pro 4’s display.
Screen dimming and other display issues can be very annoying, especially on portable devices like the Surface Pro 4.
We hope this article helped you to solve the screen dimming problem on your Surface Pro 4.
