Microsoft releases Windows 10 Insider build 19631 and ARM64 VHDX

Microsoft has released today the Windows 10 Insider build 19631 for Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring, which is another minor update with no new features. Highlights include Windows Hello improvements and a fix for an issue preventing devices in connected stand by to wake up after a key press.

You can check out the full list of changes and known issues below:

General changes & improvements

  • We updated the configuration of Windows Hello to make sure it works well with 940nm wavelength cameras.

Fixes

  • We fixed the issue causing the IIS configuration being set to default after taking a new build.
  • We fixed an issue that could result in a key press not waking up a device from connected standby in certain scenarios.
  • Windows Sandbox WSB files are now case insensitive.
  • We fixed an issue impacting Remote Desktop reliability.

Known issues

  • We’re looking into an issue where some devices booting from eMMC storage may bugcheck when resuming from hibernate.
  • We’re looking into reports of the update process hanging for extended periods of time when attempting to install a new build.
  • We’re working on fixing an issue for a future Insider Preview build where in Settings > Privacy the Documents and Downloads sections show a broken icon next to their page name (just a rectangle).
  • We’re looking into reports that taskbar preview thumbnails aren’t rendering consistently (showing a blank area).

In addition to this new Windows 10 preview build, the Windows Insider team also made ARM64 VHDX available for download, which will allow Insiders with Windows 10 on ARM devices to run the Windows 10 Insider build 19624 as a guest host in Hyper-V. Microsoft previously added in the build 19559 from February the ability to install Hyper-V on Windows 10 on ARM devices such as Microsoft’s Surface Pro X. “We will regularly release updated VHDX downloads for newer Insider Preview builds going forward,” the team said today.

Even though Microsoft held its Build 2020 developer conference this week, there’s still no word about the 20H2 update coming later this year, or the 21H1 update to be released in the first half of 2021. Microsoft shared its plans for the 19H2 update right after the spring last year, so we may have to wait a bit more to get some information about future Windows 10 releases.

Get in on the ground floor of Obsidian’s Grounded, join early demo on Xbox One and Steam on June 9

Obsidian Entertainment, one of the new game studios that Microsoft acquired two years ago, revealed a new IP named Grounded at X019 last fall. Before the survival adventure game will enter Xbox Game Preview and Steam Early Access on July 28, Obsidian revealed today that there will be a limited-time early demo on Xbox One and PC from June 9 through June 14.

This first demo will give players “a look at one day in the life of Grounded’s single player campaign,” according to the developer. Grounded is a first-person survival game where players have been shrunk to the size of an ant living in a suburban backyard. The game will support co-op with up to three other players, and Obsidian is working on story-based missions to complement survival activities.

To join this first Grounded flight on June 9, Xbox One gamers will need to sign up for the Xbox Insider Program and register for the demo through the Xbox Insider Hub. Slots on Xbox One will be limited, but the Steam demo for PC players will be available for everyone on June 9. Grounded is actually one of the games that will participate in the Steam Game Festival, which is Valve’s celebration of new games to be released within the next year.

“We’re excited to have you start this journey with us and get into the game, as it is important to us to get your feedback. Having both the Xbox Insider and Steam demos line up at the same time means we can hear from as many of you as possible before the game enters Xbox Game Preview with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Steam Early Access on July 28,” wrote, Mikey Dowling, Director of Communications, Obsidian Entertainment.

Source code for Windows NT 3.5 and the original Xbox has leaked

The source code for Windows NT 3.5 and the original Xbox console have leaked online earlier this month, according to a report from The Verge. A Microsoft spokesperson told the publication that “We’re aware of these reports and are investigating,” without sharing further details.

For those unfamiliar with Windows NT, the version 3.5 of the desktop OS was released back in 1994, following the initial 3.1 version released a year earlier. During the nineties, the Windows NT family of desktop OSes lived alongside the consumer-oriented Windows 9x family based on MS-DOS, but NT was finally brought to the masses in 2001 with Windows XP. According to The Verge, what leaked is a near-final version of the OS that “includes all the necessary build tools, and should allow enthusiasts to dig into the old operating system.”

As for the Xbox OS leak, it appears that some of the code could have been circulating for quite some time. “While the Xbox OS leak includes some build environments, the Xbox Development Kit, emulators used for testing, and internal documents, we understand this kernel and source code has been passed around privately among enthusiasts previously. That means it’s unlikely to help further homebrew and emulator efforts for original Xbox games,” the report reads.

Even though these leaks are about decades-old code, we expect Microsoft to do what’s necessary to protect its intellectual property. However, many enthusiasts would like the company to make its old code open source. Following the end of support for Windows 7 back in January, the Free Software Foundation publicly asked Microsoft to make the still-popular OS an open-source project.

How to remove someone from a team in Microsoft Teams

Adding people to a team in Microsoft Teams is how you kick off the right conversations and make sure you can keep your employees in their workflow. But, what happens if you added someone to the wrong team? Perhaps you might have accidentally added someone to a team who doesn’t belong — say a regular employee in a team that is designed only for managers.

No need to worry, though. If you’re a team owner, you can remove someone from your team at any time. The process is quick and easy. Here’s how to remove someone from a team in Microsoft Teams.

To get started, you’ll want to make sure your IT admin has set you as a team owner. If you’re not a team owner, you can’t remove anyone from a team. This is for obvious reasons, security as number one. You can ask your IT admin or the person who manages Microsoft Teams to check the Teams admin center to assign the team roles if you want to remove someone from a team.

If you have the right permission, you can begin the process of removing someone from a team by clicking the team name in the sidebar of Microsoft Teams. You can then click More Options … followed by Manage Team and then Members. From there, you’ll see a team member list. You can click the X to the far-right side of the name of the person you want to remove. Just keep in mind that if you want to remove a team owner, you’ll have to go in and change their role from owner to a member, first. You always can change the roles back later, too.

Please keep in mind that while you’re removing someone from a team, you’re not removing them entirely from the organization. They’ll still have access to Teams, Office, and the other parts of your subscription. That privilege is rather reserved for admins, and they need to do this via the Microsoft 365 dashboard.

As you can tell, the process of removing someone from a Team is quite easy. Microsoft makes it quite easy. If you’re looking for additional Teams coverage, check out our news hub for more how-tos, guides, tours, and more.

Alan Wake and Cities: Skyline join Xbox Game Pass today, with Minecraft Dungeons to follow next week

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription service is welcoming two new games today with the survival horror game Alan Wake and the city-building game Cities: Skyline. Both titles are available today on Console and PC, and they will be followed by Minecraft Dungeons next week r on May 27.

For those unfamiliar, Alan Wake is a cult-classic game from Remedy Entertainment (Max Payne, Quantum Break). It was released as an Xbox 360 exclusive back in 2010, and the PC version following two years later. Unfortunately, Remedy didn’t add Xbox Live achievements to the PC version of the game that’s now available for Xbox Game Pass for PC members.

As for Cities: Skyline, the game is actually coming back to Xbox Game Pass for Console and PC today after leaving the catalog back in March 2020. This isn’t the first time that we see games return to Xbox Game Pass catalog after some time, but if you haven’t tried it yet, Cities: Skyline is a great alternative to the popular Sim City series.

Next week, Minecraft Dungeons will be the next Xbox Game Studios title to launch on Xbox Game Pass on day one on May 27, and as Minecraft sales recently crossed 200 million sales worldwide, the much-anticipated dungeons crawler definitely has some potential. Stay tuned for our review of the game that will be published early next week.

FIX: Netflix error code f7121-1331-p7

The Netflix error code f7121-1331-p7 occurs when there is an issue with your web browser. Netflix has documented the error in its resource guide with some troubleshooting tips to resolve the error.

The error can occur if you are using a browser that is not compatible with the Netflix player that is used to play TV shows and movies.

Other reasons include disabled HTML 5 support, third-party extensions, corrupt or broken installation, and bad cache.

If you are also troubled by this error, here are a couple of troubleshooting tips to help you resolve the Netflix error code f7121-1331-p7 on your computer.

How do I fix the Netflix error code f7121-1331-p7?

1. Check your browser for compatibility

Netflix supports all the major web browsers, including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, and Mozilla Firefox.

However, if you are using a less known web browser like Speed Browser, it can interfere with the player Netflix uses to play TV shows and movies.

Make sure you have the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Opera browser installed.

Additionally, also make sure your browser supports and has enabled HTML5. You can check if your browser supports HTML 5 by visiting the YouTube HTML 5 detector.

Check Netflix for service issues

  1. At times, the error can also occur if the Netflix servers are down.
  2. You can check if the Netflix servers are down by visiting the Is Netflix Down.
  3. If Netflix is experiencing a service outage, try again later after the issue is resolved.
  4. Proceed with the next set of steps if the services are up and running.

2. Clear browser cache and data

2.1. Google Chrome

Netflix error code f7121-1331-p7

  6. Click Clear Now to confirm the action.
  7. Relaunch Firefox and check for any improvements.

Most of the time, browser cache helps you speed up your web browsing experience by storing frequently fetched information.

However, other times the browser will use the cached data instead of downloading fresh information which may result in an error.

So, clearing the data and cache can help you resolve the issues with Netflix and other streaming services.

3. Disable Chrome extensions

Netflix streaming error

  2. Click the menu icon and select More Tools > Extensions.

  6. If the issue persists, disable all the Chrome extensions.
  7. Relaunch Chrome and check for any improvements.
  8. If the error is resolved, enable the disabled Chrome extensions one by one to find the extension that is causing the error.

If you are using Microsoft Edge or Firefox, repeat the steps with these browsers as well. Microsoft Edge uses the same extensions like Chrome, but Firefox has its own repository for add-ons.

4. Reinstall Google Chrome

Netflix streaming error

FIX: CBS All Access errors uvp-1011, uvp-1004, and uvp-1001

CBS All Access streaming service sells in two paid plans – monthly and annually -, at prices starting from $5.99/month.

Though considerably cheaper compared to its competitors Hulu, Netflix, or Amazon Prime, CBS All Acces subscribers are constantly complaining about frequent loading errors, and constant crashes during most of the programs.

We’ll list here three of the most common streaming errors and their solutions. The on-screen message is vague (An error has occurred. Please try again later), plus an error code,  but most of the time, the errors can be fixed by the users.

2. Shut down your devicecbs all access errors

Switch off your device (including modem and router) and fully unplug them. Wait a few minutes, then plug them back in. Switch them back on and re-launch the app.

FIX: Sling TV too many devices error

Sling TV is a subscription-based on-demand streaming service available only in the US. It sells in two separate packages, Orange and Blue, respectively.

Despite the fact that the two packages have the same price, there are differences when it comes to the number of channels available, and the number of devices that can stream simultaneously.

While with the Slim TV Blue plan you can have up to 3 simultaneous streams, with the Orange plan, you can have only one.

When the app detects too many concurrent devices it will notify you that Playback has stopped because content is being viewed on another device.

How do I log out of Sling TV?sling tv content played by another device

Naturally, to avoid the playback error message mentioned before, the safest is to make sure that only the allowed number devices that can connect to a certain program simultaneously.

To prevent this, make sure that you’re signed out of and closed the Sling TV app on other devices than the one you’re using the app for streaming purposes.

Signing out is intuitive: just open the main Sling TV menu, go to Settings, then toAccount and Sign Out.

There’s one more particularity that is not often mentioned, but still can cause issues, as suggested by the support team from Sling TV’s competitor, Hulu.

Namely, sometimes users employ their Facebook account to sign in to other services as well.

If this is the case with your Smart TV account, the app might recognize your profile as already logged in; just make sure to sign out of Facebook as well so as not the be kicked out.

In the end, if you think that you never get enough simultaneous streams, you can sign up for both Slim TV packages, to benefit from all four available slots.

FIX: Philo not working on your Roku device

Philo is another on-demand video streaming service, alongside other more popular services like Hulu, HBO Go, or Netflix. It offers similar packages to other providers, including a special package for the Educational segment.

As expected, Philo is compatible with most devices. Among these, Roku was the first equipment developer to support Philo back in 2017, on its streaming players and smart TVs.

Since starting their collaboration with Roku, Philo has improved its services, but glitches are always possible.

Why is Philo not working on Roku?

The list includes Roku Ultra (4660x, 4640x), Roku Streaming Stick+ (3810x), Roku Streaming Stick (3800x, 3600x), Roku Express (3900x, 3700x), Roku Express+ (3910x, 3710x), Roku Premiere+, Roku Premiere, Roku 4, Roku 3, and Roku 2 (4210x).

So if your device is older, Philo will certainly not work as it should; and it won’t even install.

2. Outdated Roku device

Fix: DirecTV Error Eode 775

The DirectTV error code 775 occurs if your receiver has trouble communicating with the satellite dish. The error leaves the screen pixelated or frozen.

The error can occur for many reasons, including a loose connection between your receiver or TV, issues with the SWiM power inserter, and even heavy rain and storms.

If you are also troubled by this error, here are a couple of troubleshooting tips to help you resolve the DirectTV error code 775.

How do I fix the DirectTV error code 775?

1. Check your DirectTV receiver for connection issues

  3. Plug back the power inserter back to the power outlet.
  4. Make sure everything is connected correctly.
  5. Disconnecting and reconnecting the SWM power inserter will reset the device.
  6. Power on your DirectTV receiver and the TV to see if that resolves the error.

Is Your Photoshop Toolbar Missing? Here’s What to Do

Adobe Photoshop comes loaded with many useful tools for selecting areas, cropping images, and many more, which you can pick quickly by clicking on them from the toolbar. However, the Photoshop toolbar might go missing for some reason.

While this might be frustrating, getting the toolbar back is straightforward with the right troubleshooting steps. And we will show you how to do it in this guide.

Why did my toolbar disappear in Photoshop?

Below are some of the reasons your Photoshop toolbar might have disappeared:

  • Outdated app: If the Photoshop app is outdated, it might start misbehaving, leading to some missing features. The solution to this is to update the app to the latest version.
  • Full-screen mode: Another possible cause of this issue is running the app in full-screen mode. This takes away the toolbar to allow you to use the full area of your workspace. You can exit the full-screen mode by pressing the Esc key.

How to get back Photoshop Toolbar that disappeared?

1. Use keyboard shortcuts to restore panels.

  • Brushes: F5
  • Color: F6
  • Layers: F7
  • Info: F8
  • Action: ALT + F9

The above are the default keyboard shortcuts to Photoshop panels. The tools with no keyboard shortcut dock with those with shortcuts.

For instance, the Style and Swatches panels in Photoshop dock with the Color panel do not have keyboard shortcuts. The Tools panel has no shortcut also but cannot dock with other panels.

However, you can transform it from a single-column strip to a two-column toolbox arrangement by clicking the arrow with double heads above Tools.

In Photoshop Creative Suite 2, this can act as the toolbox arrangement permanently.

2. Change the commands

  1. On the Photoshop window, click on Edit and select Keyboard Shortcuts. Or press Alt +Shift + Ctrl + K.
  2. In the Keyboard Shortcuts and Menus dialog box, navigate to the Application Menu Command section.
  3. Next, expand the Window area and select Tools to open a shortcut field.
    window photoshop toolbar missing

In this field, you assign Tools to shortcuts to elements in the interface. Simply press the combination and select a tool to invoke. You can tweak the pre-assigned shortcuts, also.

3. Use SHIFT + TAB and the Windows Menu

  1. Make the panels visible/invisible using the Windows menu.
  2. Right-click on the title bar on the specific panel.
  3. Select Close. On clicking close, the panels disappear.
  4. To make them visible, press the Tab key.
  5. You can also use the Shift + Tab key combination to toggle all the panels on and off.

4. Customize the toolbar

  1. Click on Edit, select Toolbar, and navigate to the Customize Toolbar.
    • Alternatively, click the three dots icon on the left panel.
      dots photoshop toolbar missing
  2. Locate the missing tool(s) from the list under Extra Tools to the right.
    extra tools
  3. Finally, drag the tool to the Toolbar list and hit Done.

5. Create a new workspace

  1. Hit the Window menu button.
  2. Select Workspace and click New Workspace.
  3. Give the workspace a name.
  4. Next, check the Keyboard Shortcuts, Menus, and Toolbar boxes.
    new workspace
  5. Finally, save the workspace.

You can only add custom menu layouts and shortcuts for a particular set of tasks to a workspace.

Therefore, create multiple workspaces, which will contain custom arrangements to fix the issue of the toolbar not showing in Photoshop.

6. Use workspace tools

  1. Switch to the new workspace by going to Window > Workspace.
  2. Next, select your workspace and click on the Edit menu.
  3. Select Toolbar. You may need to scroll further down by clicking the downward-facing arrow at the bottom of the list on the Edit menu.
  4. Finally, hit Restore Defaults.
    restore defaults photoshop toolbar missing

If you had workspaces set up, but for some reason (ex., An upgrade), some tools may get missing from the toolbar. In this case, follow the steps above to restore the missing tools.

7. Reset the Essentials workspace

  1. Click Window and then select Workspace.
  2. Next, choose Essentials (Default).
    workspace essentials
  3. After that, click on Reset Essentials below.

The solutions in this page serve for both when the toolbar is not showing in Photoshop. You will also find fixes for when specific tools are missing.

In case your Excel toolbar is also missing, check our detailed guide on the topic to restore it quickly.

Feel free to let us know the solution that helped you fix this issue in the comments below.

Fix: Not all data was successfully written to the registry

When you try to carry out some operations on the Windows Registry, you get an error that says not all data was successfully written to the registry. Some keys are open by the system or other processes.

Examples of registry operations that can bring up this error are merging, importing, or restoring a file in the registry.

Many permissions are involved, and it’s possible that (even though you made the backup, for example), you have insufficient permissions to perform the desired operation.

What do I do when I get the registry data writing error?

1. Try again in Safe Mode

  1. Press the Windows key and click on the Power button to reveal the shutdown options.
  2. The next step is to click Restart but to enter the Advanced Troubleshooting Tools utility, hold SHIFT while clicking Restart.
  3. Your PC will now restart and take you to the Advanced Troubleshooting Tools utility. Next, click on Troubleshoot to continue.
  4. On the following screen, click Advanced options.
  5. Now click the Startup Settings (Windows Startup Settings on older Windows versions).
  6. Finally, hit Restart and press 4 to Enable Safe Mode.
    • For older Windows versions, you have to wait till the PC restarts before selecting the Safe Mode option.use safe mode to fix not all data was successfully written to the registry error

Now, the computer boots with no drivers loaded. Attempt the registry operation once more to see if it still throws the not all data was successfully written to the registry error.

2. Change the registry key permissions

  1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
  2. Enter Regedit and hit Enter to open the Windows Registry Editor.
  3. Navigate to the key of interest, right-click on it, and select Permissions.
  4. Click Advanced and click on the Change link beside the Owner label.change registry owner not all data was successfully written to the registry
  5. On the next screen, type your user account name or Administrator and hit Check names.
  6. The user account name or Administrator you entered on the last step will now change to the full system name.
  7. Finally, hit OK to save.

Here, we changed the owner of the registry key to allow Administrator users to perform critical tasks on the registry.

3. Perform a repair upgrade on you Windows

  1. Download the Windows media creation tool.
  2. To begin the installation, accept the Windows license terms.
  3. Next, click on Create installation media for another PC.
  4. On the next screen, choose your language, architecture (32-bits or 64-bits), and Windows 10 version.
  5. The screen that follows is where you select the media for the installation.
    • Click on the ISO option for the system to begin downloading the corresponding ISO for your Windows version.
  6. When the download completes, open the folder containing the file and switch to the Manage tab of Windows Explorer.
  7. Click Mount to mount the ISO file.
  8. Go to the mounted drive, open it, and double-click Setup.
  9. To begin the installation, accept the Windows license terms.
  10. Here, on the Change what to keep screen, select Keep personal files and apps.
  11. Hit Install. This takes a while to complete; so, you may need to wait on this screen for a while.
  12. On completion of the installation, sign in and finish up the process.

These steps solve the not all data was successfully written to the registry error by repair upgrading your system. However, this method reverts your computer to a state with no latest updates installed.

To keep your updates and not lose them, make sure that your PC stays connected to the internet in the course of the upgrade.

The error that says not all data was successfully written to the registry can pop up on different scenarios. Most users encounter the issue when attempting to merge or import a file into a directory.

The general solution is to change the ownership of the file to either yourself or the Administrator. However, before doing that, we recommended that you try performing the registry operation again, but in Safe Mode.

WebOS vs Android TV: Which is Better?

When buying a TV, one of the things you need to consider is the OS. Being among the leading smart TV operating systems, users keep wondering what a Web OS vs Android TV comparison will look like.

Suppose you are confused as to which smart TV as to which to choose among these two, this is the comparison you need.

In this WebOS vs Android TV comparison, we have detailed everything you need to know about these two smart TVs, from their suitability to their strong points and features.

WebOS vs Android TV: How do they compare?

1. LG webOS

AndroidTV vs WebOS

LG’s webOS is a Linux-based smart TV operating system that is usually shipped with the LG smart TVs. It comes pre-installed with popular content streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube.

The USP of webOS has been its intuitive user interface. LG has been slowly refining the OS since 2014, supporting new web technologies as well as developing new apps.

WebOS uses a launch bar to give access to all its properties and functionalities. Clicking on the launch bar gives you access to all the apps and settings. Users can also customize the launcher as per their needs.

The operating system works with all Bluetooth peripheral devices like headphones, smartphones, or even wireless speakers. For screen mirroring and content casting, WebOS comes with Miracast support out of the box.

In addition, the users also get Live apps, an OLED image gallery, and 360-degree video playback support. LG’s voice integration is best in the business thanks to LGs own voice recognition software as well as Google Assistant support.

So, all is good with the WebOS? While there isn’t much to complain about, compared to AndroidTV, WebOS’s apps gallery is not the best in the business, and this is where Android TV shines.

2. Android TV

AndroidTV vs WebOS

AndroidTV is the most common Smart TV OS that you can find across brands. Most of Chinese brands prefer to use AndroidTV for their smart TVs to offer the most value for money.

Talking about the big brands, Sony is one of the premium brands that use AndroidTV OS for its Bravia lineup.

Depending on the TV manufacturer, your Smart TV experience will be different as most of the manufacturers tend to use their own skin on top of AndroidTV.

On the brighter side, AndroidTV comes with Chromecast support out of the box. You can stream content from your Android phone or tablet with ease.

For voice command, AndroidTV, with no surprises, supports Google Voice Assistant. If you are buying Sony’s Android TV, you will get both Google Chromecast and Google Assistant out of the box.

AndroidTV can also help you to monitor other home devices such as Google Hello and other Internet of Things.

The biggest advantage of AndroidTV has to be its app catalog. With direct access to Google Play service, users can download and install all the mainstream apps and some games with ease.

What OS is best for you?

While both Android TV and Web OS are great platforms for Smart TVs, WebOS offers the best user experience with support for major content streaming platforms as long as you are not looking for tons of apps and games.

Android TV, on the other hand, offers a lot of functionalities and is recommended if you are a serious Google fan.

Azure App Service helps creating and hosting static web apps

Nowadays, web apps are more and more adopting static front-end design patterns with client-side processing powered by JavaScript.

The idea is not to rely on web servers and consequently require a new structure of supporting cloud resources.

At this year’s Build event, Microsoft announced that the Azure App Service has been expanded with a new hosting offer specially designed for static web apps.

How can I use Azure App Service to host my static web app?

Microsoft is offering now a preview version of the App Service Static Web Apps for developers who want to build JavaScript web apps with static front-ends and optional dynamic back-ends powered by serverless APIs.

The advantages of Static Web Apps are that developers can deploy apps in minutes and they save money by using serverless technologies.

What are the advantages of using the App Service Static Web Apps?

A developer details the characteristics in an Azure blog:

Pre-rendering static content (including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and image files) and leveraging global content distribution to serve this content removes the need for traditional web servers generating the content with every request.

Moving dynamic logic to serverless APIs unlocks dynamic scale that can adjust to demand in real-time and can empower developers to access the benefits of microservices as they evolve and extend individual app components.

The service is designed for developers using frameworks like Angular, React, Svelte, and Vue or static site generators like Gatsby looking for a simple interface to deploy the cloud resources.

How can I start using the Static Web Apps?

Microsoft added all the links for documentation in the presentation blog.

Microsoft simplifies Teams Chatbots with Power Virtual Agents

Chatbots in Microsoft Teams are not a new thing. And while the Chatbots are very useful for enterprises using them for inside help and information for their employees or for their clients.

However, they were not so easy to create and manage. That’s about to change soon because Microsoft partnered with the newest component of the Power Platform, the Power Virtual Agents, a low-code chatbot platform.

Power Virtual Agents help enterprises and developers creating Chatbots easier

Power Virtual Agents is a chatbot service that was built on the Microsoft Power platform and the Bot Framework.

According to Microsoft, the Power Virtual Agent development is a lot easier, because it uses a guided, no-code, graphical interface approach.

That makes it simple for everyone to create and maintain an intelligent virtual agent without learning to code.

You will be able to create your chatbot in the Power Virtual Agents portal, and afterward, you will be able to integrate it with Microsoft Teams just by pressing a single button.

how to publish an inteligent agent

If you’re a developer, Microsoft also published the documentation on how exactly to create the chatbot.

How does the Microsoft Teams Chatbot works?

Michael Chow, Senior Program Manager for Microsoft describes an actual example of usage in a blog post:

An employee who has just joined Contoso asks a few questions related to office reopening, new employee orientation, and uploading documentation.

Then, he moves on to ask for support with special accommodations, specifically ergonomic furniture. The bot needs to connect him with an HR expert to understand the situation better.

The bot gathers some information to create a request ticket and submits it to the Onboarding channel in Teams where HR experts can see the request and handle it.

Since there is a longer than normal wait time today, the employee checks his request status with the bot to make sure it is still active.

Chatbot in Microsoft Teams case

An onboarding expert sees the notification in the Expert assistance channel in Teams and reaches out to the employee. After helping the employee out, he returns to the Expert channel and closes the ticket.

The employee can also check the status of his requests again and confirm that it has been closed.
