A Startup window will open. Find the application executable file that needs to load when Windows boots.
Create a shortcut of this app. Copy it and paste it in the Startup window. This is the way for adding a startup application in Windows 10.
To remove the application, delete the shortcut from the Startup folder.

This is a simple method, but in order to use it, you need to have Pro or Enterprise version of Windows. If you’re a Home user, you’ll have to look for a different solution.

Windows comes with a useful tool called Task Scheduler. Using this tool you can set certain applications to start at a specific time, but you can also use it to add applications to startup.
The tool is relatively simple to use, and you can create startup applications by following these steps:
Press Windows Key + R and enter taskschd.msc. Press Enter or click OK.
When Task Scheduler starts, in the right pane click on Create Task.
Create Task window will appear. Enter the name of your task and check Run with highest privileges option. In the Configure for field choose Windows 10.
Go to the Triggers tab and click on the New button.
When the New Trigger window opens, set Begin the task to At log on. If you want, you can set this task to run only for a specific user or for all users on the PC. If needed, you can even delay and repeat the task. After choosing your settings, click on OK.
Navigate to the Actions tab and click on New.
Set Action to Start a program and click on the Browse button.

Microsoft experts pull the covers off new phishing campaign
The cybercriminals involved in this scheme used adversary-in-the-middle (AiTM) phishing sites to facilitate stealing passwords and related session data.
As a result, this allowed the malicious third parties to bypass multi-factor authentication protections to access user email inboxes and run follow-up attacks using business email compromise campaigns against other targets.
The above-mentioned main cyberattack targeted Office 365 users and spoofed the Office online authentication page using proxies.
Hackers used emails with HTML file attachments that were sent to multiple recipients of an organization, in which recipients were informed that they had a voice message.
From there, clicking to view the included attachment would open the HTML file in the user’s default browser, informing the specific user that the voice message was being downloaded.
Nothing further from the truth, as the victim was actually redirected to a redirector site from where the malware would latch on.
This phishing site looked exactly like Microsoft’s authentication site, with the exception of the web address.
The next step was for the victims to be redirected to the main Office website once successfully entered their credentials and completed the second step of verification.
Once this was done, the attacker would have already intercepted the data, and therefore all the information he needed, including the session cookie.
It goes without saying that after that, malicious third parties have disastrous options such as identity theft, payment fraud, and others.
Microsoft experts state that the attackers used their access to find finance-related emails and file attachments.. while the original phishing email that was sent to the user was deleted to remove traces of the phishing attack.
Providing your Microsoft account details to cybercriminals means that they have unauthorized access to your sensitive data, such as contact information, calendars, email communications, and more.
The best ways to stay protected against such attacks is to always double-check the source of any emails, not click on random stuff on the internet, and not download from shady sources.

You should know that the company is soon going to start sending notifications to Windows 8.1 users about the upcoming end of extended support.
Remember that this outdated OS is set to reach the end of its support period on January 10th, 2023, and the warning messages will appear starting with July 2022.
Windows 8.1 end-of-service notifications are incoming
As the Redmond giant stated, the above-mentioned notifications will resemble the ones Microsoft used in the past to remind Windows 7 users about the upcoming end of support.
If you are a Windows 8.1 user, you surely know that Microsoft originally retired all Windows 8 support in 2016, but the updates will completely stop starting with January 2023.
Furthermore, the company will not be offering an Extended Security Update (ESU) program for Windows 8.1, just in case you were wondering.
That being said, businesses won’t be able to pay for additional security patches and will have to upgrade or accept the risk of running software without security updates.
Many will not consider this a big loss, as Windows 8.1 was never very popular, to begin with. The original Windows 8 version was heavily criticized for things such as its over-reliance on touch-based interaction.
Now, Windows 8.1 users will now need to decide whether to upgrade to Windows 10 or buy a new rig that can support the latest OS.
As you know, Microsoft was adamant about the new system requirements for Windows 11, so an upgrade from Windows 8.1 to 11 is pretty much out of the question.
However, you can also go for Windows 10, operating system which will continue to be supported until October 14th, 2025.
Just to clarify things, Windows 8.1 devices won’t simply go blank starting with the end of support that comes on January 10th, 2023.
However, everything you do after will be at your own risk, as without software updates and security fixes you will be exposed.
That’s something to keep in mind when dealing with software that the manufacturer deems as obsolete and no longer worthy of any effort.
But, as you might have observed, even old and obsolete versions of Windows still receive some updates during Patch Tuesday rollouts, only for major problems.
