Solved: Xbox Sign In Error 0x80a30204

However, the Xbox comes with its own share of issues, and most are affecting the sign-in procedure.

The number of error codes concerning this is overwhelming, but most codes are easily handled.

The error we’ll try and address today goes by the code 0x80a30204, and it appears when users try to sign in with their Xbox Live account.

How do I fix Sign In error 0x80a30204 on Xbox?

1. Hard reset the console

Let’s start the troubleshooting by hard resetting the console.

This Hard Reset, also known as the Power Cycle, is the best way to resolve minor issues, which are the most common ones in the first place.

The whole procedure shouldn’t take you more than a minute and is simple to utilize.

Here’s how to hard reset the console:

  1. Press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds or so.
  2. Wait until the console shuts down.
  3. After a minute, turn on the console again and look for changes.

2. Check Xbox Live services

Now, even though there’s a good chance that the sign-in error is only an isolated problem on your side, that’s not the case usually.

Xbox Live services frequently go through maintenance procedures and the dedicated servers tend to crash, too.

Luckily, there’s a way to track the current status of Xbox Live services. That way, you’ll know if something is wrong in general or if the problem is solely plaguing your console.

You can find the status reports here. Or, if you’re a social media aficionado, the official Xbox Live Support account is to be found here.

3. Troubleshoot the Network

All sign in errors point towards the connection problem. Whether the problem is widespread on your home network or solely on the console, it doesn’t matter.

However, in more cases than not, users confirmed that the network failure on Xbox is the thing to blame for the sign-in errors.

And there are ways to tackle possible network issues on an Xbox console. Here are some steps you can try:

  • Make sure you use a wired connection instead of wireless.
  •
  • Run diagnostics
    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Choose Settings.
    3. Tap All Settings.
    4. Choose Network.
    5. Select Network settings.
    6. Select Test network connection.
  • Reset your MAC address:
    1. Open Settings.
    2. Choose All Settings.
    3. Select Network and then Advanced Settings.xbox sign in error 0x80a30204
    4. Choose Alternate MAC address and then Clear.
    5. Restart your console.

4. Remove and re-establish the account again

Some users could resolve this by simply removing their Xbox Live account and re-establishing it. This is a standard procedure, and it shouldn’t take too much of your time.

Once you’ve done it, the Xbox Live sign-in error should be gone.

5. Use the Offline mode and sign in later

Finally, if neither of the steps above works for you, we suggest signing in the Offline mode and moving from there.

Once there, you can try switching to an online mode, and hopefully, you’ll manage to connect to Xbox Live services without any issues.

Keep in mind that other login errors, such as 0x0000042b can also make an appearance, so don’t hesitate to check out our detailed article for quick fixes.

With that said, we can conclude this article. Don’t forget to share your thoughts or alternative solutions to the error in the comments section below.

How to fix Windows 10/11 rollback loop

Since Windows 10 is a free upgrade Microsoft has left you the ability to roll back to the previous version of Windows if you’re not pleased with Windows 10. Unfortunately, a number of users reported that the rollback process is stuck on Windows 10 and that users are unable to revert back to an older version of Windows.

Windows 10 rollback stuck: How to fix it?

Not being able to rollback to the previous build of Windows can be a big problem, and speaking of issues, here are some common problems reported by users:

  • Windows rollback loop after update – According to users, sometimes you might get stuck in rollback look after a new update. To fix that, be sure to try some of our solutions.
  • Windows 10 rollback stuck on restarting – Sometimes your rollback can get stuck on restarting. If that’s the case, it might best that you leave your PC and let it finish the rollback.
  • Windows 10 downgrade stuck – In some cases, your PC might get stuck while downgrading. This can be a big problem, but you might be able to fix it by using the Legacy boot feature.
  • Windows 10 rollback stuck boot loop, black screen – If this problem appears, you might be able to fix it by running a couple of commands in Command Prompt.
  • Windows 10 rollback not working – If the rollback process isn’t working, one way to fix is to perform an in-place upgrade. By doing that, you’ll force Windows to update to the latest version and fix the problem.

Solution 1 – Force a restart or shutdown

A number of users reported that they are unable to roll back from Windows 10 and that they are getting stuck on a blue screen with a loading icon. This can be a big problem if Windows 10 isn’t working for you and if you want to revert to the older version. Few users reported that you can fix this problem simply by forcing a restart or a shutdown.

According to users, the rollback process is stuck and the hard drive indicator doesn’t show any activity. After the restart, the indicator will start blinking again and the rollback process should start working without any problems.

Solution 2 – Use Legacy Boot

Several users reported that the rollback process was stuck due to UEFI mode. According to the users, there was a problem with booting from a flash drive and DVD and that can sometimes prevent the rollback process.

To fix this issue you need to enter BIOS and change the Boot Mode from UEFI to Legacy. To do that follow these steps:

  1. While your computer boots keep pressing the F2 or Del on your keyboard to enter BIOS. Some versions of BIOS use a different key, so you might have to repeat this step a few times before you find the right key.
  2. Once you enter BIOS you’ll need to find Boot Mode and change its value from UEFI to Legacy. If you can’t find this option be sure to check your motherboard manual for detailed instructions.
  3. Save changes and try to perform the rollback again.

Solution 3 – Use a hard drive image to restore your system

If you are familiar with hard drive images, you probably have a backup hard drive image created. If you don’t use any backup software, then you most likely don’t have a backup image of your hard drive, so you can skip this solution.

If you created your hard drive image before upgrading to Windows 10, you can simply back up your system by using that hard drive image.

Once again, this solution only works if you created a hard drive image before upgrading to Windows 10.

  • Press Win + R key.
  • Type rstrui and click OK. This will open System Restore.
  • There’s a Show more restore points box that, if checked, will show a lit of other restore points.
  • Couldn’t find any restore points? Learn how to create a system Restore Point

Yes, you can through this process called a Rollback that we discussed in this article. Missing rollback option? Check out our guide.

Solution 4 – Leave your computer running for a couple of hours

Sometimes rollback process can take a couple of hours to complete, and users reported that rollback will be completed after a few hours if you wait patiently. In some cases, the rollback process might encounter a restart loop, but leaving the computer for a few hours can sometimes fix the problem according to some users.

Solution 5 – Use Command Prompt

Windows 10 downgrade stuck

According to users, if your PC is stuck during the rollback process, you might be able to fix it by running a couple of commands in Command Prompt.

Since you won’t be able to boot to Windows, you’ll need to start Command Prompt outside of Windows and run the necessary commands. You can do that by following these steps:

  1. Restart your computer a couple of times while it boots.
  2. You’ll now be presented with a list of options. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt.
  3. After the command prompt starts, run chkdsk c: /f command.
  4. The scan will now start and check your hard drive for errors. This process can take a while, so be patient.

Once the scan is finished, try to access Windows 10 again. If the problem is still there, you might need to run a couple of additional commands. To do that, follow these steps:

  1. Repeat the steps above to open Command Prompt.
  2. Once you open Command Prompt, run the following commands:
  • bootrec /fixmbr
  • bootrec /fixboot
  • bootrec /rebuildbcd
  • bcdboot c:windows /s c:

After the commands are executed, check if the problem is still there.

Solution 6 – Perform an in-place upgrade

Exit and continue to Windows rollback loop

In case you’re not familiar, the in-place upgrade process will force Windows 10 to update to the latest version while keeping all your files intact. To perform an in-place upgrade you’ll need the following:

  • an empty USB flash drive (at least 8GB in size)
  • another working computer

To fix this problem, first, you need to download Media Creation Tool on another PC and run it. Now follow these instructions:

  1. Connect the USB flash drive to another PC.
  2. Choose Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD or ISO file) for another PC option. Click Next to proceed.
  3. Make sure that you select the version that matches the version on your other PC and click Next.
  4. Select USB flash drive and click Next.
  5. Choose your flash drive from the list and click Next to proceed.

Now, wait while the Media Creation Tool creates a bootable media. After creating a bootable media, you can switch back to your PC. Connect the USB drive to the affected PC and do the following:

  1. When your PC boots, you’ll be asked to choose between several versions of Windows. Select any version you want and your system should boot in Safe Mode.
  2. When your PC boots, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to start Task Manager.
  3. In Task Manager, choose File > Run New Task.
    Windows rollback loop after update
  4. Enter explorer.exe and click OK.
Windows 10 rollback stuck on restarting
  5. Now you need to open your flash drive and run setup.exe file.

The setup process will now start. To upgrade your PC and keep your files, you just need to do the following:

  1. Wait while the setup prepares the required files.
  2. Select Download and install updates (recommended). This isn’t mandatory, and you can always download updates later if you want. Click Next to proceed.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen until you reach Ready to install screen. Choose Change what to keep.
  4. Make sure to select Keep personal files and apps. Now click Next to proceed.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the setup process.

Once you finish the setup, you should have the latest version of Windows installed, and everything should be exactly as you left it.

If Choose what to keep option isn’t available, it means that the ISO file isn’t the same as your version of Windows, so you’ll need to download a new ISO file, or continue and lose all your files on your system drive.

Solution 7 – Reinstall Windows

Sometimes the only solution is to reinstall Windows completely, and in order to do that, you’ll need Windows installation media. Bear in mind that reinstalling Windows will delete all files from your C drive, therefore we urge you to back them up.

If you cannot access Windows 10 due to a certain problem, you can always boot your PC from a Live Linux CD, and use Linux to find and back up your files.

To reinstall Windows 10, you just need to do the following:

  1. Connect Windows 10 installation media to your PC and boot your PC from it.
  2. Choose Install now option.
  3. Enter your product key and click Next. If you don’t have your product key, you can activate Windows 10 later.
  4. Select the version of Windows you want to install and click Next.
  5. Now select your system drive and press Next. Keep in mind that your system partition might not be always labeled, so be extra cautious while picking the partition.
  6. The installation process will now start. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete it.

Once the installation is finished, the problem should be resolved completely. Now you just need to move your files from the backup and you’re good to go. Keep in mind that this is a drastic solution, so you should use it only if other solutions can’t fix the problem.

This brings us to the end of this guide. But before we add the last punctuation mark, there are two important things we’d like to mention.

Exit and continue to Windows rollback loop

This is by far the most annoying and frequent issue that Windows 10 users may encounter. The OS initially asks users to exist any programs in order to go back to Windows. But this rarely works.

However, if you encounter this problem, try to shut down or restart your PC. Sometimes, this might help with the glitches and fix your problem. But in most cases, this error message stays on the screen even after users restarted or shut down their computers several times.

Choose an operating system Windows rollback

If the rollback attempt is successful, you will be asked to choose a previous operating system to go back to for the rollback. Usually, this is a restore point previously created.

But shortly after the rollback, Windows 10 might automatically search for updates. If you don’t want to repeat the whole rollback process all over again, don’t forget to disable automatic Windows 10 updates as soon as the rollback is completed.

Well, the rollback process can sometimes get stuck, and if that’s the case, we suggest that you try all solutions from this article.

Fix Publisher has detected a problem error with these steps

No stranger to Publisher errors? Some of them are indeed easy to fix, but there are others that need a lot of time and research in order to be resolved. One of these errors comes accompanied by the message Publisher has detected a problem in the file you are trying to open.

We’re talking about the runtime error 1100009. This is often encountered when Microsoft Publisher fails or crashes whilst it’s running. In spite of its name, don’t assume from the start that the code was corrupt in some way, but just that it did not work during its run-time.

As you probably discovered on your own, a simple system restart won’t help much to fix it. If you’re not willing to give up on solving this error, you can go through the solutions below.

What can I do if getting Publisher has detected a problem error?

1. Try duplicating the file

right-click on the Publisher file

  1. Right-click on the Publisher file that’s causing the issue and select Copy.
  2. Right-click an empty desktop space and choose Paste.
  3. Open the new file and see if the error still shows up.

Firstly, we’d suggest copying the file and opening the new copy with Publisher once more. This is an easy workaround, yet it doesn’t resolve the underlying causes of the problem. If you’re thinking of a permanent fix instead, then keep on applying the steps below.

2. Disable/uninstall 3rd party security products

Uninstall antivirus to fix Publisher has detected a problem

Windows Defender Antivirus is automatically enabled and installed on Windows 10 computers. However, you’ve chosen protection from a non-Microsoft antivirus or antimalware app and that’s the cost that you are supposed to pay sooner or later.

Plenty of users report experiencing severe conflicts between their paid or free third-party AV and the Microsoft Office tools. To rule out this option, you need to disable all 3rd party antivirus and firewall products on your computer.

Ready to completely remove your antivirus from the PC? Check out this list with the best uninstaller software you can use.

3. Recover data using the Insert Text feature

click on Insert File

  1. Start by opening your Publisher app and creating a new Blank workspace from New > Blank.
  2. Then, go to the Insert tab and click on Insert File or Insert text file.
  3. After you’re inside the Insert Text window, select the problematic .pub file and click on OK.
  4. Now that the content is imported to the new file, arrange it.
  5. Don’t hesitate to save the files using the Save As feature.
  6. Open the newly created file again and see if the Publisher has detected a problem error has been resolved.

In Publisher, you may use the Insert Text feature to recover some of the content you’re afraid is gone forever. The error message described appears when using a highly-outdated Publisher version or if the file that you’re trying to open is not actually a Publisher file in the first place.

4. Run a Repair by using the Office Repair utility

Office Repair

  1. Close Publisher and any other Office programs.
  2. Open Win + X menu.
  3. Choose Control Panel.
  4. Below the Programs heading, click the Uninstall a Program link.
  5. Locate your Office installation. Once you manage to do so, right-click on it and choose Change from the newly appeared context menu.
  6. Choose Quick repair from the list of available options, then click on Repair. Then, the Office Repair utility will start running.
  7. The attempt to fix the problem could take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. Wait patiently for that to happen.
  8. When the procedure is completed, restart your computer and check if Publisher is back to working properly again.

Any time an Office application isn’t working correctly, you can try repairing it. The Office Repair utility tries to figure out what’s wrong. What happens next depends on whether anything needs to be fixed or not. Just follow the directions on the screen and you’ll hopefully solve the issue.

That’s about it. As you can see, fixing the error Publisher has detected a problem in the file you are trying to open requires effort and time from your part, but it isn’t an impossible mission. If you have any suggestions or questions, just let us know in the comments below.

FIX: Microsoft Teams Third-Party Cookies Error

When it comes to the corporate environment, everyone can agree that a good collaborative tool can mean the difference between projects getting done on time, and money being wasted.

That is why many companies use such tools, and one very good example is Microsoft Teams.

The only downside is that this tool isn’t always fool-proof, as some users have reported issues with the cookies in the web client:

We have the issue, that IE 11 is not able to use Microsoft Teams.. FF, Chrome is working fine. IE11 outside of our corporate network is working also fine. Seems to be a group policy setting, does anyone have an idea what that could be?

This is a problem many companies face, since accepting website cookies is not usually something that they do. That’s why we’ve created this step-by-step guide, to show you exactly what needs to be done in order to fix this issue.

How do I fix the MS Teams’ third-party cookies error?

1. Use a GPO that enable s third-party cookies

Since third-party cookies are usually restricted at a corporate scale via Group Policies, the only obvious choice if you really want Microsoft Teams as your collaborative tool is to simply ask the IT administrators to enable a GPO that allows for cookies to be stored.

2. Manually enable third-party cookies on your browser

If your company does not have a GPO that forbids the saving of third-party cookies, then all you need to do is manually enable them on the browser you are using to access the Microsoft Teams web client.

Since this process varies greatly depending on what browser you are using, then you should check up on this in-depth article for steps on how to enable cookies on all of the major browsers.

On the other hand, you might consider changing your browser to one that offers reliable and useful services. To use third-party cookies freely, we suggest you choose Opera One.

3. Add MS Teams’ website in the Local Intranet zone

Local Intranet Zone sites
  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Go to Internet Options
  4. Select Security tab Local Intranet Zone Sites
  5. Then, click Advanced
  6. Add the base URL for your site to the list
  7. Click OK
  8. Then, click OK again to confirm your action

Adding the site’s path to the list of Local Intranet Zone sites may also help to fix the error. Just don’t forget to configure Internet Explorer to automatically log in using the current username and password for sites in the Intranet Zone.

4. Use the desktop client

Since the cookies issue is only something that you encounter while using the web client, one obvious choice would be to simply switch to the downloadable desktop client instead.

This software comes free of price and it can be acquired free separately or as part of the Microsoft Office Suite.

By following these steps, you should no longer receive any cookie-related errors when trying to log into Microsoft Teams.

%appdata%Microsoftteamsapplication cachecache
%appdata%MicrosoftteamsCache
  • Are browser cookies bad?

Browser cookies are not bad in themselves, they are mainly used to profile users so as to deliver them the content they’d be most interested in. The real question is whether the companies that collect information retrieved by cookies used them for dishonest purposes or not.

  • Where are cookies stored?

Browser cookies are usually saved and stored in a dedicated file in the browser folder. Most browsers store the cookies at this location:

C:Users[Username]AppDataLocal[Company owning the browser][Name of the browser]User DataDefaultLocal Storage

Microsoft Teams often blocks third-party cookies due to security reasons. Sometimes this triggers various errors but this guide will help you fix them.

Also, you can visit our Microsoft Teams Hub for more useful tips and guides.

Which of the above procedures works for you? Leave your answer and any other questions or suggestions in the comments area below.

FIX: Skype won’t let me type username or password

Many Windows users, from different versions, ranging from Windows 7 to the most recent Windows 10, have been reporting on the issue that Skype won’t let them type in their username or password.

Here are some potential fixes for that.

Steps to fix Skype username and password issues

  1. Check your DLLs
  2. Reinstall Skype
  3. Update your computer
  4. Additional solutions

Why won’t Skype accept my username and password?

A couple of Windows users have been complaining regarding some problems with Skype‘s login process. Here’s what one of the affected users has been saying:

It’s as simple as that. I cannot click on the username or password field to type my password and log in. I’ve reinstalled it several times, all using different browsers. What can I do?

What can I do if Skype doesn’t accept  my username or password?

1. Check your DLLs

Here’s a first fix that you could try for this particular problem, that seems to be working for Windows 7 users, but you can also try this in other versions, as well

  1. Windows Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click on Command Prompt, select Run as administrator
  2. In the Command Prompt type: cd c:windowssyswow64 and press Enter
  3. Next type this – regsvr32 jscript.dll – and then press Enter:
  4. Then type this and press Enter – regsvr32 jscript9.dll
  5. After each Enter you should receive a message saying that DllRegisterServer in XXX.dll succeeded
  6. Reboot your computer
  7. See if your Internet Explorer can execute JavaScript by opening this page https://javatester.org/javascript.html

2. Reinstall Skype and running it an administrator

If this works, then this means you can use the web version of Skype until you have figured out what’s wrong with the desktop version.

If it works on the web interface, you can completely wipe Skype from your websites and then try reinstalling it.

However, this doesn’t always work. But according to many Skype users, they didn’t even have to uninstall and reinstall, as adding these code strings fixed the issue.

There are actually situations when simply running the software as an administrator is enough to fix the problem. Also, you can try running the app in compatibility mode, and select a previous Windows version in which it should run.

3. Update your computer

If you’re not running the latest Windows 10 OS version, don’t be surprised if Skype doesn’t work for you. Outdated software is one of the most frequent root-causes for Skype issues. Install the latest Windows update and then test if you can login to your Skype account.

Additional solutions

For additional methods on how to fix Skype sign in problems, you can also check out this troubleshooting guide.

Leave your comment below and let us know if this helped. If it didn’t, then maybe you can suggest another potential workaround for this problem.

Microsoft Delaying Retirement of MCSD, MCSA and MCSE Certifications

After making the announcement that Microsoft was planning to retire several of their very popular certifications on June 30 of this year, Microsoft has confirmed that the planned retirement of their Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associated (MCSA) certifications were being put on hold.

With the impact of Covid-19, many potential test-takers have been unable to take their exams as test centers are closed across the country.  In response to that, Microsoft, alongside their exam delivery partner Pearson VUE, said in today’s announcement that not only were they extending the availability of the certifications until January 31, 2021, but they are also proactively making some program changes and would be waiving all exam rescheduling and cancellation fees if the request is made at least 24-hours before the appointment, and automatically extending existing role-based certification expiration dates by another six months.

Pearson VUE is also working to increase the capacity for online proctoring in an attempt to expand its online testing capacity.  Potential test-takers can simply check current availability on Pearson’s website.  Microsoft also indicated that they are transitioning in-person instructor-led courses to virtual instruction and virtual training through their Microsoft Learning website.

While the change in position seems obvious given the current circumstances, it’s great to see that Microsoft is responding to the current situation and taking care of their IT Professionals over the short-term as they continue to push everyone towards the cloud.

Microsoft “rushing to release” Windows 10 patch to address VPN internet connectivity errors with Office 365, Teams

If you’re depending on a Virtual Private Network (VPN) on Windows 10 and are having issues connecting to Microsoft Teams and other Office 365 services, you’re not alone. According to a report from ZDNet, Microsoft is currently “rushing to release” a Windows 10 patch which will help address some internet connectivity errors in the operating system.

The issue with VPNs and Office 365 apps was originally caused by last month’s KB4535996 February Cumulative update for Windows 10. The problem is well known, as it was noted in the changelogs, that “devices using a virtual private network (VPN), might show limited or no internet connection status in the Network Connectivity Status Indicator (NCSI) in the notification area.”  All the major versions of Windows, including version 1909, version 1903 and version 1809 were impacted.

This is likely a huge pain for those working on company devices from home due to the Coronavirus outbreak, and as a result, Microsoft has further officially acknowledged it. The company posted that they are working on an out-of-band update to help resolve the issue by early April.

The update to correct the issue will only be downloadable through the Microsoft Update Catalog.  In the meantime, as a workaround, Microsoft recommends for you to mitigate any VPN bugs by restarting your device.

As it turns out, this 0x00000019 error message has been known to occur as a result of one or more of the following: faulty RAM memory, 3rd party utilities, system file corruption, bad sectors on your HDD, and other hard drive issues.

This post shows you how to solve this Windows error, so don’t postpone applying the below procedures.

What can I do if getting Critical Windows error 0x00000019?

1. Check your RAM

  1. Click Start.
  2. Type in Memory Diagnostics Tool in the search box.
  3. Right-click on Memory Diagnostics Tool.
  4. Choose Run as Administrator.
  5. Follow the instructions to begin the diagnostic procedure.

If the error is caused by a faulty RAM memory, your best bet is to check your RAM using the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool. To do so, follow the procedure detailed above.

2. Disable or uninstall any 3rd party utility

disable real-time protection

Certain brands of anti-malware software and other 3rd party utilities can corrupt the system memory, making this 0x00000019 error to appear. Thus, the second method you can try is to disable real-time protection.

This will be different depending on the 3rd party antivirus suite you’re using. However, you should generally be able to do it directly from the dedicated taskbar menu.

If this makes no difference, uninstall any anti-malware software running on your computer and then restart your computer.

Is your Windows 10 computer stuck on restart now? Fortunately, we’ve got the right solutions for you.

3. Perform a CHKDSK scan

  3. Once you’re inside the elevated Command Prompt, type the following command:
    chkdsk /f
  4. Up next, press Enter to initiate an offline scan
  5. After you initiate the CHKDSK scan, the CHKDSK function will begin its checks. Depending on the size of your selected drive, and the amount of data stored on it, the operation could take anything from a few minutes to half an hour.
  6. If all is well, you’ll be informed that no issues were found.
  7. However, if the CHKDSK scan does find errors, it will attempt to fix what it can.
  8. Don’t forget to restart your computer and see if the issue is resolved at the next system startup.

No less important, some bad sectors on your HDD could affect a critical service, therefore forcing your system to trigger a stop error like the one you’re seeing.

That’s why we’re recommending performing a CHKDSK scan to maximize your chances of fixing the error 0x00000019. Don’t worry, you can’t do any damage to your computer by running this scan process.

chkdsk is giving you headaches? Check out this quick guide to solve any issues you might fear.

2. Uninstall Skype and replace it with the latest version

There’s one more fix available and it requires you to uninstall the current version of Skype.

After uninstalling Skype from your computer, you need to head over to the Skype’s website, download the latest version of Skype and reinstall it.

After reinstalling Skype, you should be able to close it via Taskbar, without going to the system tray.

We have to point out that this solution didn’t fix the problem on all Windows 10 computers, but it has helped number of users, so it’s worth checking out.

Looking for the best uninstalling tools? Here are the best options.

3. Close Skype using the Task Manager

If this doesn’t help, and you still can’t quit Skype, you can always turn it off using Task Manager. Head over to your Taskbar, right-click on it and then choose Task Manager from the context menu.

end task skype

When Task Manager opens up, scroll down the list until you find Skype process, select it, and press “End Task” button. This will forcefully and successfully close Skype.

Alternatively, you can use a third-party Task Manager from our fresh list!

4. Create a .bat file

Another method to force quit Skype is to create a batch file and add the following lines in it:

  • taskkill /f /im skypeapp.exe
  • taskkill /f /im skypehost.exe

Save the file to your desktop and simply open it in order to turn off Skype.

At this time we don’t know what is causing this issue, and Microsoft is working really hard to patch Skype and to resolve this minor problem, and we’re hoping that official fix will be available soon to all Windows 10 users.

If you have any other Windows 10-related issues you can check for the solution in our Windows 10 Fix section.

Microsoft is working hard on its operating system, Windows 10, and speaking of which, another annoying bug has been found in Windows 10. Bear in mind that Windows 10 is always work in progress, so new bugs are constantly unveiled.

One of the majors bugs is related to Skype, and this bug will prevent the app from loading in the Modern UI environment.

Change privacy settings

The solution to this problem was delivered by Gabriel Aul, the Windows Insider Program lead.
In order to fix this issue you just need to give Skype permission to access the webcam from the PC Settings menu. To do this, close Skype and follow these simple instructions:

  1. Open the PC Settings app. You can access it from This PC folder as for now, PC Settings has replaced the classic Control Panel on the Ribbon in File Explorer. Now open the Privacy options.

UPDATE: There have been many similar reports since the writing of this post. It appears that Skype‘s access to your webcam is often blocked when your computer installs a new update.

Perhaps this issue was even worse with the Windows 10 April Update. Thousands of users noticed that apps no longer had access to their cameras and microphones after the update.

Fortunately, this was due to Windows 10’s new privacy settings. Granting the respective apps access to your camera and microphone instantly fixed the problem.

However, if this quick solution didn’t solve your issue, you need to use additional troubleshooting methods. For more information on how to fix Skype problems, check out the guides listed below.

FIX: Skype app stops working or doesn’t sign in Windows 10/11

If you are enjoying in Windows 10, you probably have encountered some annoying problems along the way. One of them is related to the malfunction of the modern version of Skype. Here’s the workaround.

One of the recently reported problems is related to the functionality of the touch version of Skype in Windows 10. Here’s what one of the affected users has been saying:

READ MORE: Skype App for Windows 8, Windows 10 Now Lets you Edit or Delete Messages, Adds Notifications

After installing the latest Windows Technical Preview update (9860) I am no longer able to sign in to the Windows Store version of Skype. The error message reads, Oops, there was a problem.

Other early Windows 10 users say that their Skype accounts won’t load either and that’s it’s just spinning. Also, the good old tradition of uninstalling the application and reinstalling it didn’t fix problems.

What do I do if Skype app stops working or doesn’t sign in?

1. Change Skype permissions

A Microsoft representative said that this is an issue with the Webcam Privacy settings and suggested that affected users need to give Skype permission to use your webcam through PC settings. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Close the Skype App
  2. Launch PC settings
  3. Select Privacy
  4. Select Webcam
  5. Locate Skype in the app list and move the slider to the On position

2. Remove Skype cache data

This issue is often encountered in Windows, especially after Skype was integrated into Windows 10. I had this issue and I solved it using this solution:

  1. Close Skype (from Task Manager)
  2. Press Windows +R keys
  3. Enter %appdata% , press OK and the Enter key
  4. When the folder opens (it must be the Roaming folder), search Skype folder and rename it to Skype.old
  5. Press Windows+R keys once more and type %temp%skype
  6. Delete the DbTemp folder

Leave your comment below and let us know if this has solved your problem. If not, we’ll keep on looking for a solution until we find one. Also, if interested, have a look at our previous article on how to keep using old Skype versions in Window 10.

Fix World War Z bugs and errors for good [7 Steps]

Don’t we all like a good zombie game from time to time? The nostalgia just flows through our veins as we relive the dread and adrenaline from old timely horror movie. If you’re a fan of the World War Z comic book, and movie adaptation, we have some good news for you. The game is out, brought to us by Saber Interactive.

The game features a four player co-op mode, so you can get stuck with your friends into the fray, and fight the hordes of the undead in your wake. Make your stand with defensive traps and encampments, survive against all odds.

It does bring up a familiar blend of some older games, but it really brings out the better aspects of the movie and comic book.

Do  this until you find one of those settings that significantly increase FPS. Then try changing each graphical setting one by one to see if a specific graphical option, such as textures or anti-aliasing was the main FPS culprit.

Flip dword set value to 1

After doing that, the problem with the flipped camera should be resolved. Keep in mind that this DWORD can be located in a different location, so you might have some trouble finding it.

If you can’t find this DWORD or Key, it means that this solution doesn’t apply to you.

If you can’t edit your Windows 10’s registry, read this handy guide and find the quickest solutions to the issue.

Microsoft Teams share screen not working on Mac? Try this

Worried that Microsoft Teams share screen is not working on Mac? Don’t be, you’re not the only one facing this issue.

When talking about Teams, most users try to do their daily routine by simply opening it and joining a meeting. Afterward, they select the Share screen button and choose to present their entire desktop, a PowerPoint file, a window, or a whiteboard.

That’s how it should usually work, yet Microsoft Teams gets its fair share of issues these days.

Other users only get a pop-up and discover that the share screen is not working on Mac. In some cases, Microsoft’s latest updates can cause this. After all, several other apps are behaving weirdly on Apple’s macOS Catalina.

The idea that an update broke screen sharing on Microsoft Teams for Mac users is far from pleasant, but we cannot rule it out. Instead of waiting for things to solve themselves, start applying the below solutions one by one.

They might take some time, but you should be in the clear afterward.

What to do if Microsoft Teams share screen is not working on Mac?

1. Edit security permissions

Edit security permissions

  6. Finally, click the checkbox next to Microsoft Teams.
  7. A notification window will ask you to restart it. Agree.
  8. Then, try again and see if the issue persists.

2. Select NetAuthAgent from Activity Monitor

Utilities Folder
  1. Start by clicking Applications.
  2. Then, click the Utilities Folder.
  3. Open Activity Monitor.
  4. Look for the process called NetAuthAgent.
  5. In case of finding it, select it.
  6. Click Quit Process.

Is Microsoft Teams already ticked as an allowed app in Security & Privacy? Activity Monitor is a special utility app included in macOS.

It’s ideal to diagnose and troubleshoot Microsoft Teams sharing screen issues, so give it a try too.

3. Update Microsoft Teams desktop app

Software updates are released to address security issues when they occur and such minor bugs discovered in the software.

The Microsoft Teams desktop app automatically updates itself, but you may also check to see if there is any new version available. Just click your profile picture and select Check for updates.

Make sure that you’re updating as much as you can.

4. Check for macOS Updates

Update macOS

If the issue still continues to occur, you may want to follow this path: Apple menu > System Preferences > Software Update. If there is an update available, click Update Now.

Your Mac will then download the update and restart to complete the procedure. Hopefully, this will help you address the problem.

Some Microsoft Teams users also describe how quitting all running apps and then trying again or force quitting the app helped.

How to fix 0x80780166 error when backing up Windows 10/11

Several users reported their worries about the 0x80780166 error when backing up Windows 10. They used the Windows snap-in backup tool hundreds of times before and they never experienced this issue.

This error has been known to occur as a result of one of the following causes: the incorrect status setting of Volume Shadow Copy service, corrupted data inside the WindowsImageBackup folder, or corrupted system files.

If you come across the same 0x80780166 error message, we have a few working tips for you. To be more precise, down below, you’ll find a collection of potential repair strategies that other users in a similar situation have successfully used to solve the issue.

  8. After that, your PC will restart and the new state will be enforced at the next system startup.
  9. Once the old state is enforced, try to back up your OS once again and see if the same error is gone.

Several concerned users reported that the error continues to occur after executing the above instructions. If you’re one of them too, don’t hesitate to restore your computer state back to a previous point when the issue wasn’t occurring.

SOLVED: Xbox sign in error code 0x87dd0019

Errors on Xbox are pretty common. They indeed come in numerous alphanumeric codes, which might be a little confusing.

However, most of them are simple to resolve and, if you’re paying your Xbox Live subscription regularly, sign in errors will rarely appear.

On the other hand, if you run into an error, like the 0x87dd0019 error code. We have a few steps which should help you to address it.

  1. Power cycle the console
  2. Check the status of Xbox Live services
  3. Make sure your connection isn’t an issue
  4. Remove and re-establish your account

How can I fix sign in error 0x87dd0019 on Xbox

1: Power cycle the console

Let’s start with the simple solution which tends to solve all kinds of Xbox issues.

That’s a hard reset or power cycle, and it usually resolves all kinds of minor bugs in the Xbox system, including the sign in errors which are rather common.

The halt is more times than not a temporary thing and it resolves on its own. However, if there’s more to it, the power cycle is a go-to move to resolve it.

Here’s how to power cycle an Xbox console:

  1. Press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds.
  2. Wait until the console shuts down.
  3. After a minute, turn on the console again and look for changes.

2: Check the status of Xbox Live services

Therefore, before you move onward with the troubleshooting step below, we suggest checking the status of Xbox Live services.

You can find the status on the official site, here.

3: Make sure your connection isn’t an issue

  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Tap All Settings.
  4. Choose Network.
  5. Select Network settings.
  6. Select Test network connection.
  • Set a static IP address
  1. Open Settings and then All Settings.
  2. Choose Network.
  3. Open Network settings > Advanced settings.
  4. Write down your IP and DNS values (IP, Subnet mask, and Gateway).
  5. Under the Advanced settings, open IP settings.
  6. Select Manual.
  7. Once here, open DNS and write down DNS input.
  8. Enter the values you wrote and confirm changes in the Advanced settings.
  9. Restart Xbox

4: Remove and re-establish your account

Finally, we can only suggest removing and re-enabling your account. After that, some users were able to resolve the sign-in error with the code 0x87dd0019.

FIX: Microsoft Teams error code caa20004

When it comes to multi-national companies, getting a license key for hundreds or maybe even thousands of PCs can be quite expensive. This is something that applies to collaborative tool licenses as well.

That is why a program that is free of charge, such as Microsoft Teams, can be a great choice. This neat collaborative tool comes bundled up with the Microsoft Office Suite, but you can also get it as a separate download free of charge.

However, this program is still prone to occasional issues. For example, some users have reported getting an error code caa20004 during the first time login processcaa20004

Depending on the settings of your company-wide GPOs, this issue can be quite frequent. That being the case, we’ve created this step-by-step guide that will show you exactly what to do to bypass this issue.

What causes MS Teams error code caa20004?

Any Azure Active Directory-dependent apps like Microsoft Teams use an optimized path for the first time login process to log in. It does this with WS-Trust Kerberos authentication endpoints of ADFS.

If your first login attempt is not successful, as with the case above, then the client will try to perform an interactive login session which is presented as a web browser dialog.

However, the new office and ADAL clients will first try only the WS-Trust 1.3 version of the endpoint for Windows Integrated Authentication. The only problem with this is that the feature is not enabled by default.

Tired of Microsoft Teams? Check out this article for a list of great alternatives

How do I fix MS Teams error code caa20004?

caa20004

Enable WS-Trust 1.3 for Desktop Client SSO on the onprem ADFS server which has a federated setup with Azure AD tenant by running the below command.

  • Enable-AdfsEndpoint -TargetAddressPath “/adfs/services/trust/13/windowstransport”

You also need to enable both Forms and Windows Authentication (WIA) in your global authentication policies.

By following these steps, you should no longer receive an error code caa20004 when trying to log into Microsoft Teams.

Note: As you can imagine, these steps are something only the IT administrator can follow. As such, if you and your colleagues encounter this error, as your IT Administrator to follow the steps written above.

If you’re aware of another way to solve this problem, share it in the comments section below so that other users can try it, as well.

  • Internet connection issues
  • The date and time are not set up correctly
Your organization is not complying with the Azure Active Directory (AAD) configuration policies
  • Your Windows credentials are not the same as your Office 365 credentials.

Keep in mind that the Windows credentials you use to sign in should not be different than your Office 365 credentials.

  • What is modern authentication in Microsoft Teams?

Modern authentication is an authentication method that includes SSO (single sign-on) whereby Microsoft Teams detects you’ve already entered your credentials in another app and doesn’t require your to enter them again. In this manner, you no longer need to enter your email and password when you start a new Microsoft Teams session.

  • What does the status code of my login error mean?

The status code of Microsoft Teams login errors provide additional information for IT admins to diagnose the problem. Based on the status code, they’ll know what troubleshoot procedures to use first.

  7. In the above command, make sure you enter your IP address before executing the command.
  8. Wait for the command prompt to return.
  9. Once done, restart the printer and check if the firmware downgrade is successful.

FIX: Xbox error wrong region code

If you moved recently or got any new games from another country or region for your Xbox, you might experience the wrong region code error on your console.

This error can prevent you from playing any games from a different region, but you might be able to fix this problem by using one of our solutions.

Regional locking is a digital restriction management that prevents users of one region from accessing content designed for a different region.

Regional locking is used to delay the release of certain content in some regions or to prevent the grey market import of foreign products.

Lastly, region locking is used to prevent users from accessing content that is banned in their country or region.

And this is because of censorship laws or because the distributor doesn’t have the rights to certain intellectual property outside of a certain region.

Original Xbox and Xbox 360 were region-locked, and it was left to the publisher to decide if the game is going to have a region lock or not.

Many Xbox and Xbox 360 games were region-free, but digital content from Xbox Live such as DLCs, movies, and apps was region locked.

Just like its predecessors, Xbox One was supposed to be region-locked, but Microsoft changed its policy and the final version of Xbox One came out without region restrictions.

Although regional locking is useful, gamers can sometimes experience certain issues with it, and today we’re going to show you how to fix these issues.

Table of contents:

  1. Change the region code on your console
  2. Check the region of your console and the game region
  3. Delete and redownload your profile
  4. Clear the system cache
  5. Power cycle your console

Wrong region code Xbox error, how to fix it?

Fix – Xbox error wrong region code

Solution 1 – Change the region code on your console

If you’re moving to a different country you’ll have to make changes to your region settings in order to make purchases in your new location.

If you decide to change your region, you should know that all your profile information such as your gamertag, achievements and rest of Xbox profile information will be moved with you.

On the other hand, all funds that you have on your Microsoft account won’t be moved, therefore be sure to spend them before moving.

Although your Xbox Live Gold subscription will be moved, it can only work in regions that support Xbox Live Gold, so keep that in mind.

Other subscriptions such as XNA Creator’s Club or Call of Duty Elite will remain active, but they will not work unless they are available in the new region.

As for Groove Music Pass, your subscription will be canceled after you move, but your collection will remain unchanged.

If you subscribe to Groove Music Pass in the new region, keep in mind that not all items in your collection will be available.

Now that you know what happens when you change your region, let’s see how to actually do it. On Xbox One, do the following:

  1. Make sure that you’re signed in to your Xbox.
  2. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.
  3. Select Settings > All Settings > System.
  4. Select Language & location.
  5. Choose your new location from the list and select Restart now.

If you’re using Xbox 360 you can change your region by doing the following:

  1. Sign in to your Microsoft account.
  2. Add a credit card and enter the billing address for the new region.
  3. On your console go to Settings > System.
  4. Choose Console Settings > Language and Locale > Locale.
  5. Select the locale that you want to use.

Keep in mind that sometimes there might be issues while changing your country or region. For example, you won’t be able to change it if you already did it in the last three months.

You also won’t be able to change your region if your account is suspended or if you have balance due on your Xbox subscription.

Solution 2 – Check the region of your console and the game region

Your console and your game both have region numbers assigned to them, therefore be sure to check them.

You can find this number on the back of your console and on the case for the game.

If those numbers don’t match, you won’t be able to run that specific game on your console. This rule is enforced by game publisher and you won’t be able to change it.

The only solution, in this case, it to purchase a copy that matches your region.

Solution 3 – Delete and redownload your profile

If tweaking the region settings didn’t get the job done, we’re going to try with re-downloading your profile. Here’s how to do that:

  1. Press the Guide button on your controller.
  2. Go to Settings and select System Settings.
  3. Go to Storage > All Devices > Gamer Profiles.
  4. Select your gamertag that you want to delete.
  5. Select Delete.
  6. Select Delete Profile Only. (This deletes the profile but leaves saved games and achievements.)

Solution 4 – Clear the system cache

Clearing the system cache is a universal solution for all sorts of issues, so it might be helpful here, as well. Here’s how to

  1. Press the Guide button on your controller.
  2. Go to Settings and select System Settings.
  3. Select Storage or Memory.
  4. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y  on your controller (you can select any storage device, because the system will clear the cache for all of them).
  5. Select Clear System Cache.
  6. Confirm the action.
  7. Restart your console

Solution 5 – Power cycle your console

If other solutions don’t work, you might want to perform a factory reset. This option will usually delete all files from your console and reset it to the original state.

This means that you’ll delete all your accounts, saved games, settings, and files.

If you want to keep your files, we strongly suggest that you back them up to a USB flash drive before starting the reset process. To reset your Xbox to factory settings, do the following:

  1. Open the guide by scrolling left on the Home screen.
  2. Select Settings and go to All Settings.
  3. Choose System > Console info & updates.
  4. Select Reset console.
  5. You should see two options available: Reset and keep my games & apps and Reset and remove everything. We suggest that you use the first option since this option will only reset your console and delete potentially corrupted data without deleting games and other large files.
  6. If that option doesn’t work and the problem still persists, be sure to use Reset and remove everything option. This option will delete all downloaded games, saved games, accounts, and applications, therefore if you want to preserve some of your files, we suggest that you back them up before using this option.

Few users reported that factory reset fixed

Region locking has its benefits and flaws, and if you encounter wrong region code errors on your Xbox, be sure to check if the region code of your console matches the region code of your game.

If not, you might want to try to change your region from Xbox Settings. If that doesn’t work, consider purchasing a game that matches your current region.

FIX: Xbox One X won’t turn on after shutting down

Microsoft proudly says that the Xbox One X is the most powerful gaming console in the world.

However, many players have already encountered a series of annoying bugs with the console, such as black screen issues and a console that shuts down and doesn’t turn back on.

Unfortunately, for the time being, there is no clear solution to some of these problems.

According to a Redditor:

I got the Project Scorpio Edition at midnight. Hooked it up the next morning and installed all my games and what not. Next day I started playing and after a couple hours, POOF it spontaneously shut down and wouldn’t turn back on. I was pretty distraught […]

What to do when your Xbox One X doesn’t turn on?

Luckily, the post confirmed that replacing the power cable fixed the problem, making it seem like the power cord is too fragile to handle the amperage required by the console.

xbox one x adapter

It was said that the default cable included with the console is rated at 7 amps and 125 volts, while the replacement cable is rated 10 amps and 125 volts.

In other words, any cable rated 7 amps or more and at least 125 volts should fix the problem.

So I decided to at least try to fix it before sending it away. […] picked up a used universal power cable, the Nyko one that’s branded for Sony consoles […]  Sure enough, swap the cable out and it powers right up. Tried the original cable one more time just to be sure and it seems to be a fried power cable being the issue as the original still did not work but the replacement one does.
So, if you don’t want to sacrifice your Scorpio Edition or wait weeks possibly to return it / repair it, go buy a new power cable and give that a shot.

Many Xbox One X owners who encountered the same issue confirmed that swapping the power cable fixed the problem. Keep in mind that by using a third-party power cable, you risk voiding your warranty, so proceed at your own risk.

If you’re experiencing this problem, you can buy the Nyko universal power cord from Amazon.

Do you know any other methods to solve the Xbox One X not turning on issue?

Xbox One error code 0x807a1007

Fix – Xbox One error code 0x807a1007

Solution 1 – Change your region

According to users, you can fix this issue simply by changing your region.

Changing your region on Xbox One is simple, but keep in mind that you need to spend all the money that you have on your Microsoft account before you can change your region.

Also, keep in mind that certain services might not be available in specific regions, so be sure to choose your region carefully.

We have to mention that you can only change your region once in three months.

As for limitations, you won’t be able to change your region if you have a balance due on your Xbox subscription or if your account is currently suspended.

To change the region, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure that you’re signed in to your console.
  2. On the Home screen scroll left to open the Guide.
  3. Choose Settings > All Settings.
  4. Select System and choose Language & location.
  5. Select the new location and choose Restart now.

After your console restarts, check if the error is resolved.

Solution 2 – Turn on Energy Saving mode

Few users reported that you might be able to fix error code 0x807a1007 simply by turning on Energy Saving mode. This is a simple procedure and you can do it by following these steps:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Power & Startup.
  3. Select Power Mode and enable Energy-saving option.

After turning this mode on, your Xbox will start a bit slower than before, but the error should be completely resolved.

Solution 3 – Change the NAT settings

One way to fix this problem is to change your NAT settings. To do that, follow these steps:

  1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the Guide.
  2. Select Settings > All Settings.
  3. Now choose Network.

You should be able to see your NAT Type. There are three different NAT types and all of them have certain advantages and limitations.

If your NAT Type is set to anything else except Open, you might encounter this error.

To fix this problem be sure to set the NAT type to Open and check if that solves the issue.

Solution 4 – Delete and redownload your profile

The next thing we’re going to try is redownloading your Xbox profile.

Solution 5 – Clear the system cache

Clearing the system cache can resolve all sorts of issues, so it can be helpful in this case, as well. Go on and clear the system cache:

  1. Press the Guide button on your controller.
  2. Go to Settings and select System Settings.
  3. Select Storage or Memory.
  4. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y  on your controller (you can select any storage device because the system will clear the cache for all of them).
  5. Select Clear System Cache.
  6. Confirm the action.
  7. Restart your console

Solution 6 – Power cycle your console

And finally, if none of the previous solutions resolved the issue, we’re going to restart the console. First, let’s power cycle your Xbox. Here’s how to do that:

To perform a power cycle reset, follow these steps:

  1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway, and wait for five minutes. If you have both a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.
  2. Restart your Xbox One console:
    • Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    • Select Settings.
    • Select Restart console.
    • Select Yes to confirm.
  3. After five minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
  4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

Now that your console is reset, you should test your Xbox Live connection. Here’s how to do that:

  1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
  2. Select Settings > All Settings > Network.
  3. Now, select Network settings. If there’s an outage, it will appear on the screen.
  4. On the right side of the Network settings screen, select Test network connection.

Solution 7 – Restore factory defaults

If this issue still appears on your Xbox One, you might be able to fix it by performing a factory reset.

This procedure will reset your console to factory defaults and remove all your files and games, therefore we strongly suggest that you back up all important files.

Keep in mind that you can download synced files from Xbox Live since they won’t be affected by a factory reset. To reset your console, do the following:

  1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the Guide.
  2. Select Settings > All Settings.
  3. Choose System > Console info & updates.
  4. Now select Reset console option.
  5. You should see two options available, Reset and remove everything and Reset and keep my games & apps. We suggest that you use the latter option to reset your console while keeping your games intact.
  6. If this option doesn’t work, you’ll have to use Reset and remove everything option. This option will delete all files from your console, including your games, so be careful while using it.
  7. After the reset process is completed, check if the problem is resolved.

Xbox One error code 0x807a1007 can prevent you from joining the party chat, and if that happens, you just need to try to join it again.

If that doesn’t help, feel free to try all the solutions from this article.

FIX: Xbox error UI-122

Your Xbox is a multimedia center that allows you to enjoy in latest games and online content.

Unfortunately, certain errors can appear on your Xbox once in a while, and today we’re going to show you how to fix Xbox error UI-122.

Table of contents:

  1. Check if your public connection supports streaming
  2. Switch to a non-cellular data network
  3. Restart your Xbox
  4. Delete Netflix saved data
  5. Check your Xbox’s DNS settings
  6. Restart your modem
  7. Improve the wireless signal
  8. Connect Xbox directly to your modem
  9. Delete and redownload your profile
  10. Clear the system cache
  11. Power cycle your console

Xbox error UI-122, how to fix it?

Solution 1 – Check if your public connection supports streaming

If you’re using a public Wi-Fi network, you might not be able to access Netflix on your console depending on network configuration. Administrators sometimes block streaming services on their network, thus causing this error to appear.

If that’s the case, try accessing Netflix from any other device that has Internet access. If Netflix is blocked by network administrator, you won’t be able to access it from any device and you should contact the network administrator in order to fix the problem.

Keep in mind that many public networks have limited bandwidth, therefore many streaming services are blocked.

Solution 2 – Switch to a non-cellular data network

If you’re using cellular or satellite Internet to access Netflix on your Xbox, you might encounter this error. These types of connections have slower speeds, and that can sometimes cause this error to appear.

If you can, be sure to switch to cable or DSL connection and check if the error persists.

Solution 3 – Restart your Xbox

If you’re having Xbox error UI-122, you might be able to fix it by turning off your Xbox. To do that, do the following:

  1. Press and hold the Guide button on your Xbox controller for three seconds. Select the option to turn off the console. Alternatively, you can press and hold the power button on the console itself.
  2. After the console turns off, unplug the power cable from the console and keep in disconnected for at least a minute.
  3. Plug the power cable again.
  4. Turn on the console by pressing the Guide button on the controller or by pressing the power button on the console.
  5. After your console turns on, start the Netflix app and check if the error is resolved.

Solution 4 – Delete Netflix saved data

Netflix stores its data on your console, but sometimes that data can become corrupted and cause this and many other errors to appear. To fix this issue, it’s advised to remove Netflix Saved Data by following these steps:

  1. Select Settings from the Xbox Dashboard.
  2. Choose System > Storage.
  3. Select All Devices. If this option isn’t available, select the first available device such as Memory Unit, USB storage or Hard Drive.
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Now choose Netflix > Netflix Saved Data.
  6. Select Delete and then Yes to confirm.
  7. Start Netflix again and check if the problem is resolved.

Solution 5 – Check your Xbox’s DNS settings

Sometimes your DNS settings can cause Xbox error UI-122 to appear. To fix this problem, you need to set DNS settings to Automatic on Xbox 360 by doing the following:

  1. Press the Guide button on your controller.
  2. Navigate to Settings and choose System Settings.
  3. Now select Network Settings.
  4. Select your network and choose Configure Network option.
  5. Locate DNS Settings and set them to Automatic.
  6. Turn the console off and turn it back on again.
  7. Start the Netflix app and check if the problem is resolved.

If you have Xbox One, you can change DNS settings by following these steps:

  1. Press the Menu button on your controller and choose Settings. Alternatively, you can just select Settings from the Home screen.
  2. Select Network > Advanced settings.
  3. Choose DNS settings and set them to Automatic.
  4. Press the B button to save changes.
  5. Start Netflix and check if the error appears again.

Solution 6 – Restart your modem

According to users, sometimes you can fix this error simply by restarting your modem. Configuration errors can occur once in awhile, and in order to fix them, you need to restart your modem.

To do that, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off your console completely.
  2. On your modem press the Power button to turn it off. Some users are suggesting to unplug the power cable, so you can do that as an alternative.
  3. After your modem is turned off, wait for 30 seconds or more and press the Power button again to turn it on.
  4. After your modem turns on, start your console and check if the error is resolved.
  5. Optional: If you have a router, be sure to restart it as well before turning on your console.

Solution 7 – Improve the wireless signal

Sometimes this error appears due to the strength of your wireless signal and in order to fix it, you need to improve your wireless connectivity.

If possible, you might have to move your router to a new location in order to improve your wireless signal.

In addition, you need to keep a close eye on wireless interference. Other devices can interfere with the wireless signal therefore be sure to keep all wireless devices away from your router.

Lastly, try to elevate your router by placing it high off the ground. By doing so you’ll ensure that there are no obstacles and that you’re getting the best reception.

Solution 8 – Connect Xbox directly to your modem

Error UI-122 can appear on your Xbox due to problems with your wireless connection. To fix this problem you need to connect your Xbox directly to your modem by using an Ethernet cable.

After doing that, restart your modem as we showed you in Solution 6.

In addition, you might want to try restarting your console as well. If this method solves the issue, it means that there’s a problem with your network connection or router.

If the problem still persists, you’ll have to check if your Internet connection is available on other network devices.

If there’s an issue with your modem, you’ll have to contact your Internet Service Provider.

Solution 9 – Delete and redownload your profile

The next thing we’re going to try is re-downloading your Xbox One profile. Here’s what you need to do:

Solution 10 – Clear the system cache

Clearing the system cache is a universal solution that can resolve all sorts of issues, so we’re going to test our luck with this one, as well. Here’s how to clear the cache on your Xbox One:

Solution 11 – Power cycle your console

Xbox error UI-122 affects the Netflix app on Xbox One and Xbox 360, but we hope that you managed to solve this issue by using one of our solutions.

FIX: Antivirus blocking Roblox in Windows 10/11

Roblox is the largest user-generated online gaming platform that hosts more than 15 million games, created by users on a daily basis in an immersive 3D experience.

This platform is easily accessible on different operating systems and devices including the Xbox One, so multiple players can enjoy the adventure regardless of their location.

But with any innovation, comes troubleshooting challenges, which is why this article covers the solutions to use when you encounter your antivirus blocking Roblox platform.

How to fix antivirus blocking Roblox

1. Turn off your internet firewall software

turn off windows 10 firewall

There are many antivirus or internet security software programs, most of which try to control the programs that can access the internet.

Oftentimes, these programs err in terms of caution, and by default, many of these are not allowed access.

One of the simplest things to try is turning off your internet firewall software, and check whether it lets you join games. If it does allow you, you can turn it back on, then safely allow Roblox to access the internet.

Here are the steps you can take to safely allow Roblox to access the internet:

  1. Go to your firewall program’s Control Panel. This is usually found in the taskbar on the lower right-hand side of your desktop, or check in your Windows Control Panel
  2. Go to the program permissions section
  3. Find Roblox
  4. Allow unrestricted access to the internet for the Roblox program

Note: if you need help with a particular software type, check with your program’s help manual or website if any.

2. Update your antivirus

Most of us have antivirus or antimalware programs installed on our computers because we need the safety and protection they provide whether we’re on the internet or simply using our computers.

If you have an antivirus or antimalware program running in the background, they could probably be acting as an overly cautious firewall that may prevent some important communication between Roblox or Roblox Studio and the relevant servers.

In this case, you may need to update your antivirus or antimalware program, or alternatively add Roblox to its whitelist.

If Roblox has been flagged by your antivirus or antimalware program as a concern, worry not, because Roblox is completely virus free and it doesn’t have any malware in it.

Occasionally, antivirus programs may incorrectly flag programs, an occurrence known as a false positive.

Therefore, you need to ensure that you have the most recent or latest version of your antivirus or antimalware program. It is likely that the manufacturer brand for your security software has patched the problem, but if this doesn’t work, try the next solution.

3. Add Roblox to your antivirus program’s whitelist

whitelist an app windows 10 firewall

If you updated your antivirus or antimalware program to the latest version but it still didn’t fix antivirus blocking Roblox, then you can flag the warning as a false positive.

In order to ensure that Roblox runs correctly, you need to add it to your security software’s whitelist as a permitted program.

This varies from one antivirus to another, so check with your security software’s program for instructions on exclusion, or whitelisting.

Note: When searching for exclusions if using a Windows machine, Roblox files are usually stored in the following folder: C: > Users > (Your Windows Username) > AppData > Local > Roblox
