Why can I not find the Snipping Tool in Windows 11?

Here are some of the reasons the Windows 11 Snipping Tool is missing:

  • A bug in the OS – Users who reported the problem early on when Windows 11 was released found a bug in the OS itself that caused the problem, and an update for it was released.
  • Corrupt system files – If the system files are corrupt, chances are that Snipping Tool and a bunch of other pre-installed apps would fail to work.
  • Misconfigured settings – There are certain settings that, when disabled, will affect the tool’s functioning.

How can I fix the missing Snipping Tool on Windows 11?

Before we try the slightly complex solutions, here are a few quick ones that might work:

This specific date is advised because of the app’s digital certificate, which was valid till October 31, 2021. However, a new update solved the problem, but if you are still experiencing it, then changing the date and time would be worth a try.

4. Modify the Group Policy Settings

  1. Press Windows + R to open Run, type gpedit.msc in the text field, and hit Enter.

Whether you’re playing from a disc or you downloaded a digital version of the game, there’s always a chance that Ark Survival Evolved won’t load on Xbox One.

When this happens, it is likely that there’s a problem with the operating system on your console, or a problem with the most recent update installation.

Before you try the other solutions listed below, try to restart the game or your console, update the console, and test/troubleshoot your network connection.

  1. Remove and re-add your profile
  2. Clear the local save and re-sync with the cloud
  3. Verify that the game was purchased by this account
  4. Reset your console’s operating system
  5. Uninstall the title, reboot the console, and reinstall
  6. Check for a game-specific ban
  7. Restore the console to factory defaults
  8. Reinstall the game and try again

Solution 1: Remove and re-add your profile

If the issue relates to one profile on your console, the profile data may be corrupted. Follow the steps below:

Solution 2: Clear the local save and re-sync with the cloud

It’s possible that the local save for your game has become corrupted. If so, deleting the local save and re-syncing with the cloud may correct the problem.

Delete the local save by doing the following:

  • Open the guide on your console

  • Select Manage game.
  • Scroll to the right, highlight the saved data for your gamertag under Saved Data, and then press A on your controller.

After you delete the local save, restart your Xbox One console, re-sync your saved games to the cloud. Your saved games are automatically stored in the cloud while you’re connected to Xbox Live.  Try playing the game again to see if re-syncing with the cloud fixes it.

Solution 3: Verify that the game was purchased by this account

If you want to play a downloaded game on your console, the account that purchased the game should be the same one you’re using to sign in to Xbox Live. To verify the account that was used to purchase the game, check your Xbox Live purchase history.

Sign in to your Microsoft account. Follow the instructions that are provided. Your last five transactions will be displayed under Order history.

Many games will not work without a license, so if you don’t have a license for this game, or if the account that purchased this game is not loaded on your Xbox One console, then it will fail to start.

Solution 4: Reset your console’s operating system

There may be a problem with your console’s operating system that is preventing the game from playing properly. You can reset your console’s OS without deleting your games or apps.

  • Open the guide on your console

  • Select All Settings
  • Select System

Note: Don’t select Reset and remove everything at this point. This option resets the console to factory settings, and all user data, including accounts, saved games, settings, home Xbox associations, and all games and apps will be deleted. You should only use this option as a last resort in some troubleshooting cases.

If the console reset is successful, you may be prompted to repeat some general console set-up steps before you are returned to the Home screen, then try playing your game again.

Solution 5: Uninstall the title, reboot the console, and reinstall

It’s possible that the installed game data is corrupted, so you need to uninstall and then reinstall the game to correct it.

  • From the Home screen, select My games & apps.
  • Highlight the game title that you want to uninstall.
  • Press the Menu button  on your controller.
  • Select Manage game.
  • Highlight the game title and press the Menu button again.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • Once the game is uninstalled, restart your Xbox One console, and reinstall the game

Here’s how to reinstall the game:

  • Return to the My games & apps
  • Select the game title from Ready to install
  • Select Install (check the progress bar for the status)

Game developers can build game-specific security into their titles and enforce their community policies to help ensure fair and respectful gameplay – and there’s no appeals process.

If you are still experiencing gameplay issues, confirm that you have not been banned from the game. The method by which you are notified of a game ban varies by developer and may include an in-game message, connection error, or blocked access to certain game features.

If your console is up to date and you keep experiencing the gameplay issue, you may need to reset your console to the factory defaults.

Furthermore, besides the fact that it officially acknowledged this nasty bug, Microsoft also provided temporary workarounds for affected and yet-to-be-affected systems.

What can I do if my PC boots directly into BitLocker?

  • Those who have already installed KB5012170 and are now getting BitLocker recovery prompts must enter their BitLocker recovery keys. The official guidance is available in the documentation from Microsoft.
  • Those who are yet to install KB5012170 or restart their systems after applying the update can temporarily suspend BitLocker to bypass the bug:
    • Run Command Prompt as Administrator and enter the Manage-bde -protectors -disable %systemdrive% -rebootcount 2 command.
    • Install KB5012170.
    • Restart your computer two times.
    • BitLocker should be back running after the second restart. You can verify its status using the Manage-bde -protectors -Enable %systemdrive% command.

The tech colossus stated that the BitLocker bug does not affect all computers, as users initially thought when faced with this issue.

In fact, according to Microsoft, users who have successfully restarted their computers twice after applying KB5012170 will not get the above-mentioned BitLocker recovery prompt.

Another very important fact to take into consideration when talking about this is that the bug does not affect Windows 10 systems at all, only Windows 11.

But wait, there’s more! There is another issue with KB5012170, one that is causing is the 0x800f0922 error when you attempt to install the Security update for Secure Boot DBX.

With no current official solution, while the company investigates the problem, users can actually bypass the problem by updating UEFI to the latest versions.

If you have an Xbox One, you may have encountered the dreaded Double NAT detected error and wondering how you can fix it. We’re not going to lie, the fix is not exactly easy to apply, especially if you lack patience and are not tech-savvy.

However, we’ll do our best to make sure our instructions are clear and well-received. If you follow our instructions, at the end of the article you should have an Open NAT, which is ideal for Xbox consoles.

What is Double NAT?

A Double NAT situation spawns whenever you find yourself behind two private networks, technically speaking. If your ISP insists on using proprietary router devices, and you add a second router, you’re probably behind a Double NAT.

This may sound sophisticated, but trust us it isn’t. We’ll try to simplify it a little: basically, each router creates its own private network.

Your Xbox One is connected to the second router, most likely. However, your second router is on the network of the first router, which has different ground rules. So, you could say your Xbox One has to get past two firewalls in order to access certain services.

While having a double NAT sounds bad, it actually means a bit more security for your setup. But you don’t care much about security, you just want to play on your Xbox One, don’t you?

We’ll teach you how to get rid of the Double NAT detected error in no time.

Before we start, we have to clarify something. Many suggest that a VPN can get you rid of your Double NAT situation, but there’s a lot of confusion regarding that subject.

A consumer-grade VPN such as Private Internet Access will do nothing in your situation. You’d actually have to use a VPS, or configure your own VPN server and forward a bunch of ports, which is needlessly complicated for what you’re trying to achieve.

How to fix double NAT on Xbox one

1. Set gateway to Bridge mode

2. Remove your ISP router

Physically remove your router’s ISP from the network, or whichever one of them has a weaker performance. Unplug the cable from your router’s WAN port, and plug it into your own router.

Connect your Xbox One to the newly Internet-enabled router, and you should no longer see the Double Nat error.

Note that some ISP providers are quite insistent with their routers/modems, so you might not be able to just yank it out and expect things to work. If that’s the case, go back to step 1.

Furthermore, if you have fiber optics Internet, your personal router may not have a built-in converter. This also means that you can’t just remove the ISP router from the picture.

3. Set your router to AP mode

  1. Navigate to your router’s (not gateway) address in a browser
  2. Log into your router’s management page
  3. Locate something resembling your router’s operation mode
  4. Change it from Router to AP (Access Point)
  5. Restart your router and Xbox One

An Access Point (AP) is essentially used to extend the wireless range of a network. Depending on the model of your router, setting it to AP mode may also allow you to connect to it through an Ethernet cable.

However, note that this option could disable certain features on your router. For instance, QoS, NAT, and Parental Controls may no longer be available, so you’ll have to live with that.

Microsoft may very well miss The Game Awards 2022 according to a rumor leaked by Windows Central’s Jez Corden. It’s no secret the software giant is being watched with a fine-tooth comb after announcing its intention to buy Activision Blizzard in early 2022.

Microsoft is the latest to have its feathers ruffled by the Federal Trade Commission which is expected to file an antitrust lawsuit of its own to potentially block its $69B acquisition.

As anti-trust concerns continue to mount Microsoft may be choosing to subdue its presence in the gaming industry until the acquisition is complete. Not attending The Game Awards 2022 would do just that and possibly prevent anyone considering not approving the merger deal from having more ammunition. Microsoft’s potential moonwalk away from the Game Awards is not the first time a move like this has been attempted to shield perceptual blowback.
