5 Ways to Fix Any Wi-Fi Connection Issues on Your Steam Deck

One of the most frustrating things that can happen while you’re using your Steam Deck is if you lose your Wi-Fi connection. If you have ever had a Wi-Fi connection issue on your Steam Deck, you know how frustrating it is.

It can easily ruin a promising win streak or a good run especially if it happens right in the middle of an intense game. You may have noticed that your Wi-Fi connection has become a bit sluggish or the connection keeps dropping. This is a common problem on Steam Decks.

Having a good Wi-Fi connection is one of the most important things in your home. Without it, you’d be stuck with slow speeds and constant buffering.

Why does my Steam Deck keep disconnecting from Wi-Fi?

If you are having problems with your Wi-Fi connection on your Steam Deck, there can be several reasons why. Below is a list of the most common causes:

  • Distance between router and Steam Deck – Your router may be too far away from the Steam Deck, so it can’t send a signal. In this case, you need to move the Steam Deck closer to the router or get a better antenna on your router.
  • Too many devices connecting to your Wi-Fi network -This can happen if you have multiple phones, tablets, or laptops all connected at once. If this is happening then you will need more bandwidth or remove the devices from the network.
  • Faulty cable – If you’re using a wired connection to your router, check that the cable is not faulty. If it is, then replace it with a new one.
  • Network interference – The most common cause of disconnects from Wi-Fi is interference. If you live in a densely populated area, or if there are other networks nearby, the signals can become too weak for your Steam Deck to maintain a connection.

Other causes include outdated router firmware which you can resolve by updating.

How do I fix Wi-Fi issues on my Steam Deck?

1. Check your network connection

If your Steam Deck isn’t connecting to the internet, check that it has an active internet connection first. Try connecting directly to your modem or router with an Ethernet cable and see if that works.

If so, then there might be something wrong with your network configuration or settings. Users have reported having better luck using Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi for their Steam Decks.

2. Check your cable connections

If your cable modem is plugged into the wall with a power adapter instead of plugged into an unswitched outlet, try plugging it directly into the wall instead of using an extension cord or power strip.

Make sure that all cables are securely connected on both ends and that they are not frayed or damaged in any way as frayed cables can reduce performance.

3. Change your channel settings on your router

Wi-Fi channels are like radio stations; they’re just different frequencies that each device uses at any given moment in time.

If there are several devices trying to use the same channel at once, it slows down everyone’s connection speed because they’re competing with one another for airtime on that frequency band.

In order to avoid this problem, try changing your router’s channel settings so that they don’t overlap with each other.

4. Reboot your router

Sometimes when things go wrong with our internet connections, all you need is a good reboot of your router or modem. This will reset everything and hopefully resolve any problems that might have occurred while using your devices across the house.

Try restarting your router by unplugging it from the power source for 10 seconds before plugging it back in. Then, try restarting your Steam Deck again too.

5. Update router firmware

If you’re running an older version of firmware on your router or modem, then you should update its firmware as soon as possible. Outdated firmware can cause all kinds of issues when trying to connect devices wirelessly at home or work.

Make sure that you back up all your data before updating firmware because it could cause some problems with connectivity during the process and leave you without internet access.

Can you use Steam Deck without Wi-Fi?

Yes, you can use Steam Deck without Wi-Fi. In fact, there are a few different ways that you can play the game without having to connect it to the internet at all.

The Steam Deck requires an internet connection to load content from the cloud, but once it’s loaded, you’ll be able to use the app offline. This includes all of your favorite games and media.

While offline, you may experience an issue where Steam is stuck on offline mode but we have covered ways to bypass this issue.

In addition, you can also change your Steam Deck resolution while docked to enjoy high-quality gameplay.

All you need to know about Windows 11 Insider Build 25197 (Dev Channel)

After recently releasing Build 22622.590 (KB5017846) to the Beta Channel, and Build 25193 to Insiders on the Dev Channel, Microsoft has dropped another update.

Yes, the tech colossus provided availability for Insider Build 25197 to Insiders conducting their business on the Dev Channel.

Through it, the Calculator app is updated to version 11.2208.1.0, with native Arm64 support, plus faster and better performance when you use the app on Arm64 devices.

The Media Player also updated to version 11.2208.22.0, and you can now edit video files in Clipchamp with a new Edit with Clipchamp action.

This is available when you right-click a video in your library and in the lower-right corner of the video player UI under more options when playing a video file.

We remind you that this is still version 22H2 and that Microsoft is thinking of releasing a Windows OS version every three years.

That being said, for now, the Dev Channel is sticking with version 22H2, which of course will eventually release later in 2023.

What do I need to know about Windows 11 Build 25197?

Let’s get right into it and find out what exactly the popular Redmond-based tech company has prepared for Windows 11 Insiders.

First of all, Microsoft is re-introducing tablet-optimized taskbar and System Tray updates, and these changes are beginning to roll out so not all Dev Channel Insiders get them right away.

What this means is that Microsoft’s latest design will actually make you feel more comfortable using your device as a tablet.

Now, your taskbar will automatically transition to this optimized version when you disconnect or fold back the keyboard on your 2-in-1 device.

Keep in mind that this feature only works on devices that can be used as tablets, and will therefore not work on laptops or desktops.

Also, remember that there are only two states of this taskbar, and you can only use it as collapsed and expanded.

As you would have expected, while in the collapsed form, the taskbar makes way for increased screen space, and stops you from accidentally triggering it.

While in the expanded state, the taskbar is better optimized for touch, and you can easily switch between the two states by swiping up and down on the bottom of your device.

Also with Windows 11 Build 25197 come important updates to the System Tray that affect all device types, not just 2-in-1 gadgets.

Users will see a rounded focus and hover treatment on all icons in the lower right, due to the continued modernization of this experience.

Microsoft also reports that it is not possible to drag and drop or rearrange your system tray icons with this change.

Changes and improvements

Settings

  • Microsoft is sterting to roll out animated icons and illustrations in the Settings app. With the animated icons in the navigation bar, the company grows its motion design principles to transform these familiar interactions from something purely functional to something that is also delightful.
Delightful new animated icons in the navigation bar of the Settings app.

Input

  • The company is making the small tweak that began rolling out with Build 25179 to improve the key repeat rate for the traditional touch keyboard layout, as well as the default touch keyboard layout, so it feels more responsive available to all Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel.

Fixes

System Tray Updates

  • The taskbar should no longer flash because of changes in the system tray in non-tablet-optimized scenarios.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing parts of the taskbar or its icons like search to get stuck in the wrong theme’s colors when switching between light and dark themes.
  • Date and time should no longer get stuck cutting off on the side of the screen from system tray changes.

Start

  • Fixed a crash that users were seeing when using Start’s recommended section.

File Explorer

  • Fixed an issue leading to a small set of Insiders with “launch folder windows in a separate process” not being able to launch File Explorer in the last two flights due to an explorer.exe crash.
  • Did some work to help improve the performance of deleting files via File Explorer (when emptying the recycle bin or using Shift + Delete) in the case where there are a large number of files being deleted at once.

Input

  • Fixed an issue causing ctfmon.exe crashes for some Insiders in recent flights when words were added to your spelling dictionary.
  • Dragging the voice typing window to another monitor which has a different scaling than the originating monitor should work now instead of bouncing back.
  • Fixed a sporadic crash in recent builds when using the input switcher.
  • Fixed an issue which could lead to voice typing and other input features hanging on initialization.
  • Fixed an issue with displaying certain Sinhala words, where they were unexpectedly overlapping.

Settings

  • Updated the design of the lists displayed Apps > Startup Apps and Apps > Advanced App Settings > App Execution Alias pages to be more consistent with other Settings pages.
  • Fixed an issue which could lead to Settings crashing when removing devices.
  • Updated the Personal Dictionary section under Privacy & Security > Inking & Typing Personalization to now say “Custom word list”.

Widgets

  • Fixed an issue which was making the weather icon in the taskbar draw too high and with no text in recent flights.

Windowing

  • Clicking the title bar portion of a preview thumbnail in Task View should now actually switch to that app, instead of just closing Task View.
  • Fixed a sporadic explorer.exe crash which could happen when using ALT + Tab or Task View.

Task Manager

  • Fixed an issue impacting Task Manager reliability.
  • If graphs have been hidden on the Performance page, the circles used to identify each of the different sections should be less blurry now.

Other

  • Fixed an issue which could lead to hangs in certain apps when attempting to print if an IPP printer took too long to respond to the print request.
  • Fixed an issue where EnumPrinters wasn’t always returning the correct size for pcbNeeded, which could lead to hangs in certain programs.
  • Fixed a typo in the dialog displayed when Smart App Control blocked an app.
  • Fixed an issue where certain characters were missing in the boot environment when using the Chinese (Simplified) or Korean display languages, leading to square boxes in the text.

Known issues

General

  • Investigating reports that audio stopped working for some Insiders after upgrading to the latest flights.
  • Investigating reports of a few different apps having started crashing in recent builds.
  • Investigating reports that Insiders are experiencing a bugcheck when moving their mouse in certain games
  • Investigating reports that some Insiders are seeing OneDrive setup asking for permission to set up every time their PC reboots.

File Explorer

  • Working on the fix for an issue where command bar items like copy, paste, and empty recycle bin may unexpectedly not be enabled when they should be.

Settings

  • Investigating some issues where uninstalling certain apps using Settings > Apps > Installed apps isn’t working correctly.

Tablet-optimized taskbar

  • The taskbar sometimes flashes when transitioning between desktop posture and tablet posture.
  • The taskbar takes longer than expected to transition to the touch-optimized version when switching between desktop posture and tablet posture.
  • Using the left or right edge gestures can result in the Widgets or Notification Center (respectively) to overlap with or look truncated by the taskbar.
  • When using the bottom right edge gesture to see Quick Settings, the taskbar sometimes stays stuck in the expanded state, instead of dismissing to collapsed state.
  • When there are no running windows on the desktop, the taskbar can sometimes collapse, when it should be expanded.

Widgets

  • Notification badge number may appear misaligned on the taskbar.
  • In some cases, the notification banner for some badging will not appear in the widgets board.

Microsoft Advertising launches a newly redesigned Smart Campaigns experience to help SBMs optimize their operations

Earlier this week, we saw Microsoft Advertising introduce five additional ad products and updates to its suite of tools in a bid to assist advertisers to optimize their campaigns. And today, they have just launched a newly redesigned Smart Campaigns experience with a new Multi-platform feature in the United States, which is designed to help small and medium businesses (SMBs) build their online presence as well as a strong client base. This feature will help SMBs save on time and cost, not forgetting that it is easy to use thus promoting efficiency and reliability.

With the new Smart Campaigns, SMBs will be able to focus on running their operations and enhancing profitability as they are simple yet effective, especially for businesses that are just starting out and want to tap into the digital space.

What’s more, it also helps SMBs identify their target market. SMBs will also have access to Microsoft Advertising’s support team through the chat experience across the site to get them started with their campaigns and accord them any kind of assistance that they might need. Microsoft Advertising has also incorporated artificial intelligence into the new Smart Campaigns experience to help businesses optimize their campaigns in an attempt to help them achieve set goals and simultaneously minimize the cost of operation.

The Smart Campaigns also comes with a new feature, Multi-platform. Previously, it was quite tedious for businesses to run their advertisements across multiple platforms. Multi-platform will help you reach a wider audience as you can now optimize ampaigns across multiple digital channels, that is, Google, Facebook, and Instagram directly from Microsoft Advertising for free. And finally on top of this, with Microsoft AI, SMBs will be able to optimize their budget thus enabling them to achieve “the best performance” across all these platforms.

You can sign up for Microsoft Advertising if you haven’t already to get to enjoy all these features. Share your thoughts and experiences with Microsoft Advertising below.

Xbox Controller Is Not Working On Steam Deck: 5 Ways to Fix It

Everybody wants to play games on their PC. Some people play with the keyboard, while others prefer to use the mouse. However, if you want to play the game in a more comfortable way, then an Xbox One or Xbox 360 controller would suffice.

If you are a gamer, then you know that there is nothing better than playing your favorite game on a controller. The Xbox controller is one of the best gaming devices. However, this does not mean that it cannot have any issues.

In fact, the Xbox controller has some issues with Steam Deck at times. There are chances you’ve played some games with an Xbox controller and encountered the dreaded scenario where it stops working on Steam.

There are many benefits of having an Xbox controller in order to play a game on Steam. However, there may be some issues related to it as well.

Why isn’t my Xbox controller working on Steam Deck?

Steam Deck supports a wide range of controllers, including Xbox controllers. However, if you’re having trouble getting your controller to work with Steam Deck, there may be something wrong. Below are some possible causes:

  • Outdated firmware – If you have an older Xbox controller that has not been updated with new firmware, you may need to update it. Older firmware may be incompatible with your Steam Deck.
  • Pairing issues – If you’re trying to use a controller that hasn’t been paired before, Steam Deck will prompt you to pair it. If this doesn’t work, check the batteries in your controller or try connecting the controller to another device (like a PC) to verify that it works correctly. Also, if your controller has been paired to another device already, it won’t work with your Steam Deck unless you unpair it.
  • Loose cable – If you’re using a wired connection, make sure that the USB cable is securely plugged into both your PC and controller. In the case of a wireless controller, make sure it is charged and within range of your computer.
  • Permissions not enabled – The first time you connect a controller, it will ask you to give permission to Steam so it can use your controller. If you didn’t allow this or if it was interrupted, you can enable it from settings.

If you suspect any of the above could be behind your controller issues, below are some solutions you can try.

How do I get my Xbox controller to work on Steam Deck?

1. Check cable connection

One of the first things that you should do is check the cable connection between your console and Steam Deck. If your console is connected via Bluetooth, then make sure it is turned on and paired correctly before trying again.

For wireless controllers ensure that you have recharged batteries before connecting to Steam Deck. In the case of a wired connection, ensure both ends are secured. It is also possible that your USB port may not be working so try connecting another device to make sure.

2. Disconnect other devices

If you have multiple controllers or devices plugged in at once, disconnect them all and then reconnect only your Xbox controller to see if there’s any difference in how they work.

This can help to identify if one of these devices is causing the issue. If your controller works after disconnecting other devices, then it could be an issue with that device.

3. Update drivers

Drivers communicate with other devices such as your Xbox controller, mouse, or keyboard. When something does not work as expected on your devices, you need to make sure that your drivers are up-to-date.

This is especially true for gaming devices like video cards and motherboards, but it also applies to other hardware components like keyboards and mice.

The easiest and safest way to do this is with the help of a specialized driver updating tool. It will automatically find and download the right drivers for your device.

4. Update your OS

Steam Deck does not currently support Windows 11 so ensure you are not running an unsupported operating system. If Windows is giving you problems, you can revert to the original Steam operating system.

Also, some Windows updates may have compatibility issues so if the problem occurs immediately after an update, you can uninstall recent updates as you wait for Microsoft to release a patch to fix the problem.

5. Update Steam client

It’s a good idea to keep your Steam client up-to-date especially if you’ve been having issues with your Xbox controller. This will ensure that any issues or bugs are fixed and give you new features and functionality that may not have been available previously.

If nothing else works, try uninstalling and reinstalling the game from its original source so that it gets rid of all possible bugs or issues in the game which may be causing problems with your controller.

Which controllers are compatible with Steam Deck?

Steam Deck is compatible with a wide range of controllers, from Xbox One to PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. However, sometimes, it could be a problem with your controllers. You can test whether your input devices are working on Steam Deck to ensure there are no compatibility issues.

If you find a problem with your controllers, you can check out our recommended selection of the best gamepads for Steam to find an alternative.

You may also face a sluggish download speed on Steam but worry not as we have covered various ways to address this issue.

Let us know what solution worked for you in the comments section below.

You won’t be able to sign in after adding a new account on Windows 11

Many Windows 11 weren’t actually aware that Microsoft has confirmed yet another peculiar issue in the stable version of Windows 11.

Speaking of problems, the tech giant has also admitted to a Daylight Saving time issue that affects multiple versions of the OS, as well as a Defender bug that sends virus alerts.

Wondering what this latest one is? Well, some users might be unable to sign in after adding a new Microsoft account user to the operating system.

And, since we’re speaking of such bugs, if your Windows 11 sign-in options are not working, or you experience a login screen issue, we can help with that as well.

Users say they can’t sign in with Microsoft accounts

Microsoft recently shared details about the bug on the official Windows Health Dashboard website and explained how to fix it.

Judging on what the Redmond company had to say, users get locked out briefly after the first restart or sign-out.

This embarasig issue appears only once and for a short time on devices using a Microsoft account, and its worth mentioning that Active Directory domain users and Azure Active Directory accounts remain unaffected.

Another important aspect to keep in mind when talking about this is that it happens only on systems running the client version of Windows 11 21H2.

Users that are experiencing issues with signing into their accounts in Windows 11 21H2 should not do anything to fix the situation.

Note that the operating system will eventually let users sign in after a few minutes, and on top of that, Microsoft fixed the problem using the Known Issue Rollback system.

Thus, you can rest assured that the latter automatically undoes problematic changes without any action required from the end user.

Microsoft will surely find the time to fix this, while still working on other Windows 11 bugs, and designing Windows 12 at the same time.

Make sure you also check out the latest changes Microsoft brought to the cloud, or what it plans to do with Witeboard in 2022.

We’re going to be keeping an eye out and report on any other changes on the current matter. Have you spotted any other issues?

Make sure you report them directly to Microsoft and also in the comments section located right below.

What’s the difference between UEFI and BIOS?

The Basic Input/Output System, or BIOS, is the firmware discussed in the preceding section on the boot mechanism.

It has a wide variety of utility operations that enable it to read the boot sectors of any associated storage and output information to the screen.

The abbreviation UEFI refers to the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface. It performs the same functions as a BIOS. Still, there is one fundamental difference between the two: all of the information regarding initialization and starting is stored in a .efi file rather than on the firmware.

This .efi file is kept on the hard drive within a specialized partition called the EFI System Partition (ESP).

To learn more about BIOS, we have a great guide on how to update BIOS that you might be interested in.

Regarding BIOS, many reported that Windows skips BIOS, but we covered that issue in a separate guide.

If you’re still having trouble, you might need to reinstall Windows using bootable media or even update your BIOS to fix deeper compatibility issues. And if Windows seems to skip BIOS entirely, we’ve covered that in a dedicated guide too.

We hope that our recommendations from this article were helpful for you to solve your PC’s unusual behavior. For more suggestions, please access the comments section below.

7 Most Common Steam Deck Problems and How to Fix Them

The Steam Deck is the most powerful, all-in-one portable gaming handheld on the market. This device makes it possible to take your favorite games on the go, including popular AAA games. However, it can still run into problems, here are some of the most common Steam Deck problems and how to fix them.

Users connect their Steam Deck with their Steam account and can have access to their full gaming library. Players can also keep in touch with their friends with the chat feature.

There is also a Steam Deck Docking Station that allows users to connect to external displays if they wish. However, the Docking Station is sold separately from the Steam Deck.

Is the Steam Deck worth it?

If you’re someone who wants to be able to easily take gaming on the go or have a gaming device that is more convenient to use, then the Steam Deck is worth it. Users rave over being able to comfortably game from anywhere using the Steam Deck.

Is the Steam Deck underpowered?

Despite having more power than the Nintendo Switch, users complain that Steam Deck just is not powerful enough to handle some games at higher framerates.

However, the Steam Deck has a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 instead of 1920 x 1200, which allows for a high framerate even with high graphics. Having a lower screen resolution prolongs the Steam Deck’s battery life.

steam deck performance.

If you want to know how to change Steam Deck’s resolution when it’s docked or undocked, we have a guide for that as well.

Can the Steam Deck run AAA games?

The Steam Deck is designed to run AAA games, however not every game is designed to be played on a smaller screen and might not run as well on the Steam Deck. If you want to know which games are verified on the Steam Deck, we have suggestions for that.

What are the most common Steam Deck problems?

1. Steam Deck not launching games

One of the most common Steam Deck problems is not being able to launch games. This issue typically occurs because there is not enough space on the micro SD card and the internal drive.

steam deck problems not launching games.

Go through your game library and delete some games that you don’t play much until there is some more space on the drive and sd card. Try freeing up some drive space by removing unused games before resorting to a factory reset.

2. Steam Deck not charging

There are a number of reasons why your Steam Deck might not be charging. Try booting the Steam Deck in BIOS recovery mode by holding the Volume up button and pressing the Power button until you hear a sound. This will allow you to enter battery storage mode which may fix the issue.

One thing to try is to check your USB-C cord to make sure it’s not broken or faulty. You can test the cord by plugging it into a compatible device to see if it starts charging. Also, ensure that the USB-C port is clean and free of any debris.

Another method to try if your Steam Deck is not charging is to connect it to the original charger. Using the charger that came with your device is the best way to ensure proper charging and longer battery life.

3. Steam Deck not powering on

If your Steam Deck is not powering on, then try rebooting it by pressing and holding the power button for five to ten seconds. It may take a few minutes for the Steam Deck to power on.

If it does not after some time has passed, then try leaving your device on the charger to ensure it is fully charged first.

steam deck not powering on.

If you notice that the power button is stuck or doesn’t seem to respond to pressure, you may have to contact Valve to get a replacement device due to faulty hardware. There were some users that reported having this issue with their Steam Deck.

4. Steam Deck not recognizing SD card

  1. On the Steam Deck homepage, open Settings. steam deck settings.
  2. Select System then Format SD card. Format SD card steam deck.
  3. Wait for the process to complete.

Some users report issues with their Steam Deck not recognizing the SD card. One easy fix to try for this problem is to format the card. If that doesn’t work try powering down your device, and removing the card, then power on the Steam Deck.

Open the storage menu and re-insert your SD card to see if it appears.

5. Steam Deck Wi-Fi problems

Wi-Fi connectivity problems are another frustrating issue with the Steam Deck. Many users reported their Wi-Fi dropping while downloading or updating games.

To fix this, try going into Developer mode in Settings and then disabling Wi-Fi power saving, then try to connect to a network.

internet issues.

To avoid Wi-Fi issues, be sure to connect to a stable network that is known to be reliable. If using a busy or public network, then your Wi-Fi connection may not be as stable.

6. Steam Deck battery life

Valve claims that the Steam Deck has a battery life range of two to eight hours, however, some users report their device draining after only an hour.

One contributing factor could be the type of game being played. AAA games can consume a lot of power and resources and thus may eat up battery life since these games were designed for PC and consoles. If playing a resource-demanding game, it may be best to remain connected to a charger.

original charger.

Users can extend their battery life by using the original charger that came with the device and charging it for about 12 hours. Other third-party USB-C chargers are not optimized for the Steam Deck and thus may not fully charge the battery.

Establishing a Framerate Limit allows users to place a cap on FPS which can help extend the battery life. Another way is to lower the Refresh Rate, which managed how often the screen updates. Turning down the screen brightness will also help conserve some battery and make your device last longer.

7. Steam Deck problem signing in error 56

The Error 56 message is displayed when there are issues logging into Steam. Many users reported that an unstable Wi-Fi connection was the reason for this error message, try the solutions offered under Wi-Fi problems to try to solve this issue.

keep updated to avoid issues.

This error message is usually a result of Steam being unable to connect to the servers. Ensuring a stable internet connection may solve this problem. Also, make sure to check for any system updates as this may be a bug.

How much power does a Steam Deck use?

The Steam Deck has a 40Whr (watt-hours) battery that offers two to eight hours of gameplay for users. The handheld gaming device also comes with a 45W USB-C power supply. It has a 3.5GHz CPU and 1.6GHz GPU with a max power draw of 15 W.

We hope this article helped you identify and solve some of the more common Steam Deck problems and issues. Let us know in the comments below which solution helped you.

Microsoft invests in Uber founder’s latest project, CloudKitchens

Microsoft and Uber have formed some strange alliances in the past prompted by aligned business goals back when Microsoft had smartphone ambitions, but it seems the company is set to back co-founder and ex-CEO of Uber in a new “dark kitchen” initiative.

Former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick has moved on from ride sharing services and is currently making moves into a WeWork for restaurant takeout.

The market for Ghost Kitchens took off during the pandemic when the idea of buying or leasing warehouses to multi-functional kitchen and prep spaces for use by branded and non-branded restaurants to prepare takeout orders, began paying dividends.

Last November, Microsoft participated in a round of funding for Uber’s co-founder Kalanick that raked in $850 million and launched his dark kitchen startup project dubbed CloudKitchens to a $15 billion valuation.

Previously, Microsoft bet $100 million on Kalanick and his vision for ride sharing, and eventually began integrating Uber into several of its own services and products such as Outlook, Windows 8 and 10, and Windows Phone Mobile.

Unfortunately, the Financial Times is also reporting that a “toxic” company culture similar to Uber’s is brewing at CloudKitches which has already forced senior level employees to leave.

It is unclear at this point what vision Microsoft may have with partnership, sponsorship or integration with CloudKitchen that would warrant more investment in Kalanick.

5 Easy Ways to Fix Not Enough RAM Photoshop Error

This occurs on startup and sometimes while accessing tools. Once it appears, it prevents any operations in Windows 10.

If you are stuck with this Photoshop error, check the steps we listed below to resolve it.

How much RAM is enough for Photoshop?

The official website says the minimum RAM requirement to run Photoshop on your PC is 8GB. However, it is recommended to have 16GB RAM installed.

How do I reset my RAM in Photoshop?

Photoshop lets you set your preferences to help you use more optimally available resources. For example, you can tweak memory, cache, graphics processor, displays, etc.

To reset your RAM in Photoshop, follow the steps below.

  1. Launch Photoshop.
  2. Click on Edit, then select Preferences.
  3. Select Performance.
  4. By default, Photoshop uses 70% of RAM to function. You can change the value in the Let Photoshop Use box and reset it to the original. For example, if you tweaked it to 80%, you now know you must dial it back to 70%.

5 Best VPNs For Windows 11, Tested Over 3 Months

In this day and age, using stable and powerful VPN software to protect your privacy online has been proven to be not only necessary but a must!

This statement isn’t made lightly, as situations like Facebook selling your data to third parties and, in general, big corporations using your online ‘persona’ to create custom ads are not a new emergence.

To ensure that situations like this won’t affect you, and at the same time be able to access geo-restricted content from across the world, using a VPN is very important.

Setting up the testing of VPN options inside the WindowsReport office.

That being said, not all VPNs are the same when it comes to efficiency, stability, and versatility, so being able to choose one that ticks all the boxes can be tricky.

Added to this, not all VPNs work seamlessly with Windows 11, so this factor considerably narrows down the list of possible choices.

Even though Windows 11 has some great new security features that will help boost your privacy and security considerably, having a second layer of insurance is not a bad idea.

For these reasons, in today’s guide, we will explore this subject further and look at some of the best VPNs that offer all the protection you will ever need and are also fully compatible with the stylish new OS from Microsoft.

How to set up a VPN on Windows 11?

Windows 11 already has some good VPN settings built-in, allowing you to set up your VPN service through Windows, thus making them work together to ensure your safety.

Settings up your VPN in Windows 11 is extremely easy, once you click the Add VPN button seen in the screenshot above, you will see the following panel in which you need to enter the required details.

Even though privacy’s the main concern when choosing a VPN, we can’t deny the fact that being able to access Netflix content from the UK while living in the US is useful.

It’s quite straightforward to set up a VPN connection on Windows 11 because it implies only a few steps like the ones below:

  1. Type in VPN settings in the Start Menu.
  2. In this window, press the Add VPN button.
windows 11 vpn add best on microsoft store
  3. Fill up the information required to set up the VPN.
  4. After completing the VPN information, click on Save.
  5. Connect to your new Windows 11 VPN connection.

What factors should be considered when choosing a VPN?

✅ Security

The main reason for using a VPN in the first place is the security layer that it offers you while browsing the Internet, both in terms of privacy and encryption levels.

The most common level is the AES-256 Encryption which provides state-of-the-art encryption for all your data and personal information.

AES stands for Advanced Encryption Standard, and it is the official NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) value that measures classified data protection.

✅ Compatibility with your OS

As there is no use for a VPN that can’t work optimally on your OS, this is another important element to consider when making a choice.

In our specific case, we are exploring the VPNs that work without problems on the Windows 11 OS, so there is no need for you to take this into consideration, as we’ve got you covered.

✅ VPN Speed

The speed at which your VPN allows you to browse the internet is another very important aspect as if your internet connectivity has to suffer, then using a VPN becomes inefficient.

Testing VPN speed on a variety of servers on our ASUS TUF 15 with Windows 11 inside the office.

To help you with this as well, our list only provides you with options tested for speed and accuracy on a variety of server locations across the world.

✅ Server locations

As mentioned previously, a low number of server locations for the VPN software that you’re using can have a considerable impact on security level, speed, and geo-locked content accessibility.

A good VPN will have a variety of servers from which to choose, and the impact on the speed and security can be controlled efficiently.

What are the best VPNs for Windows 11?

Even though Windows 11 comes with an in-built VPN connection, you can sure use efficient tools created to strengthen your digital privacy.

Using reliable VPN software will bring safer browsing on risky websites, access to restricted locations, or even streaming benefits.

ExpressVPN – Superior Windows 11 Privacy

ExpressVPN is another well-rounded VPN service that can work very well with Windows 11, offering good speeds and privacy features and not lacking a friendly UI.

When it comes to the most important element that a good VPN provides, the security features presented in ExpressVPN don’t disappoint in any way.

As in the case of the previously mentioned PIA, ExpressVPN also offers a variety of protocols and security features. Some of the most notable protocols include IKEv2/IPSec, L2TP/IPSec, OpenVPN (TCP/UDP), and also PPTP.

These features are enhanced even more by including a DNS Leak Blocking option, First-party DNS, IPV6 Leak Blocking, and a VPN Kill Switch.

ExpressVPN uses AES-256 encryption services that banks and governments use, ensuring that no data can be collected, even by the most skillful hackers in the world.

These go hand in hand with Smart DNS and a Split Tunnelling option. But don’t just take our word for it, as both PWC and Cure543 have verified this VPN’s security level.

Express VPN works perfectly fine with Windows 11, as we haven’t seen any issues while running it on our test Windows 11 devices.

Even though the speed of the servers for ExpressVPN is not as fast as PIA’s, this VPN still offers a very good processing speed, with just about 8% difference from the normal bandwidth speed.

Here are the results of our speed test from before activating ExpressVPN on Windows 11:

And here are the results after activating the software:

As you can see from the results above, the speed difference is absolutely negligible, so ExpressVPN will not affect your connectivity in any noticeable manner.

Other useful features:

  • Supports up to 5 simultaneous connections
  • No logs policy ensured by TrustedServer tech

HideME – Exhaustive security tools

HideME is another possible option when looking for a good VPN service to use on Windows 11, offering decent security, ok speeds, and a good level of encryption.

When it comes to the security protocols used by HideME to provide you with anonymity online, it uses IKEv2/IPSec, OpenVPN (TCP/UDP), SoftEther, SSTP, and last but not least, WireGuard.

These protocols ensure the protection of both your identity and data online, while also offering AES-256 encryption level and operating with some good security features.

As in the case of the previously discussed VPN options, HideME also uses DNS Leak Blocking, First-party DNS, and IPV6 Leak Blocking and has a VPN Kill Switch while also supporting TCP Port 443.

The big difference when comparing these 3 software options comes from the reliability of the abovementioned features.

HideME has proven in our tests that the VPN Kill Switch doesn’t do its job properly, at least not always. Activating this option has mostly caused the entire software to collapse, requiring a restart.

To round up this good VPN, you also get access to advanced features like Split Tunnelling and SOCKS, which have proven good results in our tests.

Regarding compatibility, you can rest assured that HideME VPN works without issues on Windows 11, so if you think this is a good option for you, nothing will stand in the way of using it.

No VPN is useful if the speeds at which it operates are not good enough for your internet connectivity, and for this reason, HideME has undergone the same rigorous testing when it comes to this aspect as well.

Here are the speeds of our network without having HideME VPN enabled:

And here are our network speed results after activating the software:

As opposed to the other VPN options presented in this guide, HideME didn’t perform as well, with an average overall speed after enabling the connection.

About 50% of the network speed was lost after activating, so if this is an important factor for you, it is safe to say that choosing one of the previously presented software options will be better.

Other useful features:

  • Capable of having 10 devices connected at the same time
  • Zero logs policy
  • Enables streaming of geo-restricted Netflix content
  • Supports IPv6

Why use a VPN on Windows 11?

Using a VPN on Windows 11 has the same benefits as using this type of software on any device, including but not limited to protecting your online privacy, encryption of data transfers, and also the capability to access geo-restricted content without problems.

Added to this, having the ability to ensure that the trail of data you leave on the web while exploring your favorite content is not used to create an online profile used by marketers around the world also offers peace of mind.

Because Microsoft has gone a long way into imposing the implementation of a TPM requirement for all devices that will be able to run Windows 11, some users might have a question about how this applies to using a VPN.

To be clear, the usage of TMP chips in the devices running the new OS doesn’t imply that Windows will automatically protect your identity online.

What using TPM chips means is that Windows 11 will allow software like VPN and other encryption tools to work at their best capability in order to achieve true online anonymity and data protection.

How to Change Windows Defender Full Scan 100% CPU Usage

Windows Defender is Microsoft’s default and a solid line of defense when it comes to a consumer’s cyber-protection.

This is done thanks to the security intelligence definitions which it constantly updates. And the software does a good job too.

However, those of you running Windows 10 on older PCs may notice that Windows Defender 100% CPU usage for scans can be quite high at times.

If that is the case, then knowing how to reduce max CPU usage may help you in the long run and save you a lot of headaches in the process.

How do I change Windows Defender’s full scan 100% CPU usage?

1. Use PowerShell

  1. Right-click the Start button and select PowerShell (Admin) from the list.
  2. Type in or copy-paste the following command: Get-MpPreference | select ScanAvgCPULoadFactor
    • By doing this, you will display the current CPU usage percentage limit for Windows Defender.
  3. To change the value, type in or copy-paste the following command: Set-MpPreference -ScanAvgCPULoadFactor <percentage>
Change Windows Defender's max CPU usage using PowerShell

Keep note that the value of <percentage> needs to be between 5 and 100. If you set the percentage value to 0, it will remove the CPU limit and allow Windows Defender to use up even 100% of it.

This is not recommended as it can lead to unresponsive apps, freezing, and even overheating so proceed with extreme caution.

2. Modify the Registry

  1. 1. Press Win + R.

  2. 2. Type in regedit and press Enter (This will open the Registry Editor).

    type regedit and press enter
  3. 3. Go to the following Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Policies/Microsoft/Windows Defender/Scan

  4. 4. Edit or make a new 32-bit DWORD value called AvgCPULoadFactor.

  5. 5. Switch the value data editor to Decimal.

  6. 6. Set the value data between 5 to 100.

  7. If you are having trouble with Windows Defender’s 100% CPU usage, you can tweak your Registry to fix it.

You can set a percentage of CPU usage that you want Windows Defender Antivirus not to exceed with the help of a custom DWORD. You can add any value and limit CPU usage to it.

If you want to undo the change, simply delete the DWORD you created and everything will go back to the previous settings.

If you can’t access the Registry, don’t worry because you can fix this issue right away by following the instructions in our step-by-step guide.

3. Via Group Policy

  1. Press Win + R.
  2. Type in gpedit.msc and press Enter to start the Group Policy Editor.
  3. Navigate to Computer Configuration.
  4. Go to the following path: Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Microsoft Defender Antivirus/Scan
  5. Double-click on the Specify the maximum percentage of CPU utilization during a scan policy.
  6. Enable it.
  7. Enter the desired CPU limit under Specify the maximum percentage of CPU utilization during a scan.
  8. Select Apply.
  9. Click OK.

By following these steps, you can manage the average CPU usage that your Windows Defender uses up during scans.

Changing the value has both pros and cons. While higher values mean the scans will perform better, you won’t be able to make use of the PC until it is complete.

On the flip side, lower values mean your scans will take a long time, but you will at least be able to use your PC undisturbed.

4. Try a better antivirus

Unfortunately, many users complained that Windows Defender consumes a lot of the CPU resources when it’s performing a scan.

We have just shown you how to change that but if you find it too complicated, there’s always the option to switch to a third-party antivirus that will not create that problem.

In fact, the tool recommended below has a dedicated low-power mode that will stop all resource-hungry processes to conserve energy.

That is also perfect if you’re running it on a laptop and you want to stay online as much as possible to finish your tasks.

So, that’s it! We hope that our methods helped you change the Windows Defender max CPU usage during scans.

But if you don’t get to fix the things to your liking, consider getting a third-party antivirus from our list containing the best antiviruses with unlimited license that will also help you save some money.

Do you think changing Windows Defender‘s CPU usage is useful? Let us know in the comments section below.

Not Compatible With This Signal: Meaning & How to Fix it

Users are still having a lot of issues with HDMI cables, so we decided to do what we always do and lend a helping hand.

Recently, we’ve shown you some neat ways to fix your HDMI if it’s not allowing 144Hz, so we thought we should give you some more HDMI guides.

A lot of users are complaining about receiving error messages saying that HDMI is not compatible with the signal, which is what prompted this article.

That being said, if you are having this problem, relax, sit back, and take a few minutes to learn how to deal with it properly.

Keep in mind that the HDMI not compatible with this signal is not only an error for PC users, and you can also experience it on your Smart TV.

What does it mean when HDMI is not compatible with this signal?

In a nutshell, the TV may not support the same higher resolutions that your computer monitor might, but they’ll almost certainly support resolutions that are much more acceptable.

So, we recommend verifying that the source device has power and is turned on before you go ahead and try anything else.

If the source device is connected with an HDMI cable, make sure the TV and source device are both turned on, then disconnect the HDMI cable from one of the devices and then connect it again.

What can I do if HDMI is not compatible with the signal?

1. Manually switch the Input source

It should go without saying, but sometimes the solutions to what seem the most complicated problems are actually simpler than you might have imagined initially.

Whether we are talking about your monitor or your TV, make sure to press the Input or Source button and switch the input source to the HDMI port.

One more thing to keep in mind is the fact that, if you have more than one HDMI port, be sure to select the right one.

2. Unplug/replug the HDMI cable

As we said, the simplest solutions can sometimes prove to be the most effective ones, so before we go further with the troubleshooting, please also consider this.

Again, whether we’re talking about a TV or a PC monitor, simply unplug the HDMI cable from the back, leave it out for a couple of minutes, then plug it back in.

Many users have actually mentioned that the problem disappeared once they unplugged and then replugged the HDMI cable.

3. Update video driver

  1. Search for Device Manager and open the app.Untitled design (20)
  2. Expand Display adapters, right-click the one you are using and select Update driver.update driver
  3. Select Search automatically for drivers.search automatically for drivers

4. Perform a factory reset on PC monitor/TV

We’re hoping it won’t come to this, but if all else fails, this is what you must do in order to fix this extremely annoying problem.

Only use this as a last resort and keep in mind that whatever settings or apps you had on your monitor, or TV, will be gone as a result.

5. Switch HDMI cables

Sometimes cables can get damaged and won’t be able to do the job they were made for, so here’s another factor to take into consideration.

Simply perform a simple visual inspection and make sure the cable doesn’t have any frays or cuts that could prevent it from working properly.

If by chance you find any damage, simply buy another cable and try again. You might find it hard to believe, but some users actually reported that this worked for them after replacing faulty cables.

How do I reset my HDMI?

If you were expecting some intricate, complicated answer here, you are in luck. In fact, to reset an HDMI connection, you only need 1 minute.

Turn off both devices that are connected via HDMI, then go ahead and carefully unplug the cable ends from both of them.

Now, plug the cable back into the devices, this time using the opposite ends of the HDMI cable. Turn your devices back on and, voila!

Many users reported their Sharp TV’ss HDMI not being compatible with this signal, so just refer to the solutions above if you have this problem.

You can also be in a situation where Roku might not be compatible with this signal, which is when you can also use the guide above.

How to Change From Dev Channel to Beta on Windows 11

If you didn’t already know, you will be more than pleased to find out that Microsoft has announced the availability of the Beta channel for the 22000.100 preview build of Windows 11.

But how do we switch between these Insider channels? This article contains a full guide on how to perform this action.

Should I switch the Dev channel to Beta?

The advantage of switching to the Beta channel is that you will receive a much smoother experience, and it’s not only for highly technical users, such as the Dev preview.

Our suggestion is to switch as soon as you can if you really want to do so, before the time window runs out.

How do I change from the Dev channel to the Beta channel?

  1. 1. Press the Start button on your taskbar to open the Start menu.

  2. 2. Access Settings from the menu.

    access settings windows 11
  3. 3. Select the Windows Update tab and then click on the Windows Insider Program button.

    windows insider program
  4. 4. Click on Choose your Insider settings.

    choose insider settings
  5. 5. Select the Beta channel from the list.

select beta channel from the list
  6. 6. Restart your device.

  7. Usually, switching from the Dev channel to Beta required a complete operating system re-install. However, according to the Redmond-based tech company, it is possible to switch without reinstalling for a short period of time.

Switching to the Beta channel only requires a quick reboot, after selecting it from the Settings menu. That’s all there is to it. It’s a pretty simple process that will only take up one minute of your time.

What can I do if I can’t change to the Beta channel?

dev channel setting

Have you tried switching to the Beta channel but couldn’t? Rest assured that there is no error involved. The main reason for this is the fact that your hardware isn’t compatible.

And you are also not alone. Many Windows 11 Insiders found themselves in a similar situation when trying to change their channels to Beta.

Many are stating that their devices fulfill the necessary criteria for the new OS to function properly but are unable to move from the Dev channel to Beta.

Your best option is to look into upgrading your setup, so that it supports any future versions of Windows 11, and also wait for further updates from Microsoft.

Can I roll back to Windows 10 from Windows 11 Beta?

The answer is yes, you can go back to Windows 10, but only under one circumstance. Rolling back is only possible within the first 10 days after installing a Windows 11 build on your device.

After these 10 initial days, which can be considered a trial, you will not be able to roll back anymore. When entering the Settings menu to go back to Windows 10, you will no longer be able to select this option.

If you decided to try out the Beta version but it wasn’t to your liking, all you have to do in order to go back is:

  1. Open the Settings menu.access settings menu
  2. Select the System tab and then click on the Recovery button.select recovery
  3. Click on the Go back button.go back button

If you are still within your rights to switch back to the previous version of the OS you were running before installing the Beta channel, the button should be accessible to you.

With all this information in hand, feel free to test the Beta version for Windows 11 and enjoy all its new features. Also, remember to leave feedback for all problems you encounter, to help Microsoft improve the experience.

Have you already switched to the Windows 11 Beta channel? Let us know how it went in the comments section below.

5 Ways to Fix Your HDMI if It’s Not Allowing 144Hz

It goes without saying that, nowadays, most monitors, TVs, and graphics cards feature at least an HDMI 1.4 port which is enough for 144Hz at 1080p, 75Hz at 1440p, and 30Hz at 4K.

Keep in mind that some monitors have limited bandwidth over HDMI 1.4 making it max out at 120Hz or even at 60Hz in some cases, which are mostly G-SYNC and older monitors.

Furthermore, most 144Hz monitors are limited to 120Hz over HDMI 1.4. Still, some monitor manufacturers use custom timing parameters and pixel rates to use the full potential of the HDMI 1.4 bandwidth, thus getting 144Hz at 1080p.

That being said, we are now going to show you what to do when your 144Hz monitor is only showing 120Hz or less.

Before we begin, though, we’ll also show you how to duplicate 3 monitors on Windows 10 and how to turn on Auto HDR in Windows 11.

Why is my HDMI not allowing 144Hz?

Users that have experienced this problem can understand the frustration that comes with a monitor that isn’t displaying correctly.

It all comes down to pairing compatible cables with compatible monitors, so keep this in mind just to avoid nasty surprises.

Just make sure the exact monitor you’re looking at supports 144Hz or at least 120Hz over its HDMI 1.4 port, or just look for a 144Hz display with HDMI 2.0.

Remember that HDMI 2.0 is also fairly standard and can be used for 240Hz at 1080p, 144Hz at 1440p, and 60Hz at 4K.

What can I do if my HDMI doesn’t allow 144Hz?

1. Check the monitor’s specifications

As we said above, it all starts with choosing the right monitor and the right cables for the job, so we are going to start here.

In fact, most 144Hz monitors will connect at that specification on Windows computers by default, so remember that in the future.

Thus, if your monitor is not working correctly, check to make sure you have a 144Hz-capable display and have it plugged into the display or DVI-D port.

It is also important for you to keep in mind that other display connections will not render at 144Hz. So, before we get further into the troubleshooting process, make sure this is checked.

2. Inspect the cable for any damage

We know that this should go without saying but we can sometimes overlook the simplest details and go through a lot of work.

All you need to do is a simple visual inspection and make sure the cable doesn’t have any frays or cuts that could prevent it from working properly.

If by chance you find any damage, simply buy another cable and try again. You might find it hard to believe, but some users actually reported that this worked for them after replacing faulty cables.

3. Manually adjust refresh rate settings

  1. Press Win + I to access Settings.
  2. Select the System tab and click on Display.display
  3. Click on Advanced display settings.advanced display
  4. Under Choose a refresh rate, choose the desired rate (144Hz).refresh rate display

4. Update monitor drivers

  1. Search for Device Manager and open the app.device manager
  2. Expand Monitors, right-click the one you are using and select Update driver.update monitor
  3. Select Search automatically for drivers.search automatically for drivers

5. Update Windows

  1. Press Win + I to access Settings.
  2. Select the Windows update tab.restart now
  3. Click on Check for updates, and then Restart now.

Do I need a special HDMI cable for 144Hz?

Yes, as we mentioned at the beginning of the article, not all cables will suit your needs so make sure you buy the correct one.

For 144Hz at 1440p, you will need at least HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.2 while for 4K 144Hz you are going to need HDMI 2.1 or alternatively, DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC 1.2.

That is all you need to know about the matter, so you can think twice before getting an HDMI 1.4 cable for a 144Hz refresh rate.

We recommend HDMI 2.1 for 144Hz, so don’t even waste your time with anything else. Thus, if your monitor is 144Hz but only has a 60Hz refresh rate, remember what we told you.

Memory Management Blue Screen on Windows 11 [Fix]

BSOD errors were very unpleasant in Windows 10, and most certainly, they are no different in Windows 11 because they seem to appear out of nowhere and are usually pretty serious. One of these is the Memory Management blue screen in Windows 11.

The Memory Management blue screen error signals a problem with your RAM but can also have other roots, as you soon discover.

It’s worth mentioning that Video Memory Management Internal error is quite similar to this one, but we covered it in one of our previous guides.

Why am I getting memory management blue screen?

As obvious as it may sound, Memory Management is the function that handles your system memory, and it’s crucial for the proper functioning of your system.

Its role is to track the memory location and manage the transfer of memory and processes between your RAM and physical memory when running a program.

It decides how much memory you have and what amount to allocate to each program or process, and when you close that process, it signals the free memory or gives it to another.

Now let’s see what can cause a Memory Management blue screen error on Windows 11:

➡ Failing or improperly connected RAM module

The Memory Management error is directly associated with RAM, so the leading cause for this blue screen is a faulty or improperly connected RAM module.

Therefore, you will have to replace that module in the worst-case scenario. Then, you will see how to check if you have such a hardware problem.

Check if the plastic knob is inside the module

➡ Hardware problem or incompatibility

Many have reported stop code Memory Management after RAM upgrade, but any other hardware compatibility problem can trigger this blue screen.

More precisely, the other possible component responsible for this error is the graphics card and its drivers.

➡ Software issues and corrupt system files

In a more optimistic scenario, the Memory Management stop code can be caused by some corrupt files on your system.

We’re not saying that it’s a good thing, but file corruption problems can be fixed easier with a bit of time and effort, and that’s certainly better than buying new RAM.

Now that we know precisely what this error causes, we can start troubleshooting the Memory Management error in Windows 11.

How do I fix Memory Management error on Windows 11?

1. Run the Memory Diagnostic tool

  1. Click the Search icon on your Taskbar, type memory diagnostic, and select the Windows Memory Diagnostic app from the results.
  2. Select the first option, Restart now and check for problems.
  3. After the restart, the Memory Diagnostic tool will start checking your RAM for problems; if it finds any, you will receive details about them. If not, the system will begin booting normally.

If the tool detects a problem, it is usually about one or more faulty RAM modules. If you recently replaced them, recheck their compatibility and see if they are correctly inserted in their sockets.

Once done, verify if the Memory Management error in Windows 11 is fixed.

2. Check for Windows updates

  1. Click the Start button, then choose Settings.
  2. Select Windows Update from the left menu and click the Check for updates button from the right pane.
  3. If there are any updates, the system will download and install them. Restart the PC after it finishes the process.

Sometimes, a simple system update can fix everything, and you’ll never know what the issue was all about in the first place. For example, installing the latest version of the OS would also work if you encountered the Memory Management BSOD after a Windows update.

3. Check for driver issues

  1. Click the Search icon on your Taskbar, type device manager, and click on the app from the results.
  2. Check the list and look for any driver marked with an exclamation mark.
  3. If you find one, right-click on it and select Update driver.
  4. Select the first option, Search automatically for drivers.
  5. If the system finds a new driver, it will install it, and you will be prompted for a restart. If not, you can click on Search for updated drivers on Windows Update.
  6. Select Advanced options.
  7. Look under the Optional updates section. If there are any such updates related to drivers, install them, then restart your PC.

Another way to fix multiple drivers is to use dedicated driver updating software to scan your PC for missing or outdated drivers and prompt you to update them.

4. Run an SFC scan

  1. Select the Search icon on the Taskbar, type cmd, and select Run as administrator to start Command Prompt with full privileges.
  2. Type or paste the following command and press Enter to run it: sfc /scannow
  3. The System File Checker will look for any corrupted system files and attempt to repair them. Wait until the process is finished and restart the system afterward.

If you want a complete in-depth integrity check on every system file on your computer, specialized software is what you need. These tools will help you scan for and replace any broken system files in just a few minutes.

5. Run a CHKDSK scan

  1. Click the Search option from the Taskbar, type cmd, and select Run as administrator to start Command Prompt with administrative privileges.
  2. Type or paste the following command and press Enter to run it: chkdsk /r
  3. The CHKDSK tool will start detecting any problems with your drive and try to fix them. Wait for the procedure to end, then restart your PC.

As strange as it may sound, the root of the problem may be one or more bad sectors on your hard drive, which may produce file corruption and more.

Once done, check if the SSD Memory Management error in Windows 11 is fixed. In case you still encounter it, head to the last method.

6. Reset your PC

Note icon NOTE
Please back up your important data before performing this step, as it may cause data loss.
  1. Click the Windows button and select Settings.
  2. Choose System from the left pane, then scroll down on the right pane and click on Recovery.
  3. Now select the button to the right from the Reset this PC option.
  4. You can choose whether you want to keep your files or erase them, and we would advise you to go for the first choice.
  5. Now you can opt for a Cloud download or a local source for the Windows 11 kit. Again, we recommend the first option, although it would require 4 GB of free space on your drive.
  6. Review the data and click Next.
  7. The PC will restart, and the Windows 11 installation process will start. Follow the instruction on the screen to complete the procedure.

Resetting your computer is the last resort for the Memory Management Windows 11 blue screen error, but it’s worth thinking about if nothing else works.

How do I fix the Memory Management error in BIOS?

The BIOS is the only thing you can access when dealing with several significant errors in Windows, and it does offer a couple of troubleshooting options.

In case of a Memory Management error, you can run the Memory Test and Disk Check from the BIOS if any of the two is the culprit. The BIOS also offers a few other tools that might be useful in this case.

Besides, updating the BIOS, too, might work as an effective fix for the Memory Management error in Windows 11.

How to free up memory in Windows 11?

Of course, the Memory Management error is critical, but in the meantime, if your system has become very slow, the reason might also be a crowded startup list.

In other words, there might be a lot of apps running on startup and in the background, and they all can use your precious resources. So here’s how you can clear that issue:

  1. Click on the Search icon, type task manager, and open the app from the results.
  2. In the Task Manager, go to Startup.
  3. Right-click on an app and select Disable.

This is a simple method of memory management that you can perform very quickly; after that, the apps you disable won’t run when the system starts.

Disabling all unnecessary startup programs will keep your PC running optimally. However, be careful not to disable any critical processes.

If you have other memory problems, you can also learn how to deal with high RAM usage in Windows 11.

We hope our solutions helped you fix the Memory Management error in Windows 11, and now it runs again as it should.

How to fix the Windows Daylight Saving Time issue

You should definitely know the fact that Microsoft has just published a message for users running client and server versions of Windows 7-11.

Based on what the tech company had to say, users could experience issues and bugs in various parts of the operating systems due to the upcoming Daylight Saving Time (DST) time zone change.

Microsoft also clarified the fact that this is no Y2K bug, so Windows users from Chile, because that is where this problem is affecting people, should not expect anything extraordinary.

Microsoft acknowledges Daylight Savings time bug

Even though this problem was spotted in one country, security experts are wondering if this could actually spread to other places as well.

Users reported that time had advanced 60 minutes on September 10 instead of September 4. As a result, devices running the operating system could run into the following problems:

  • Time shown in Windows and apps will not be correct.
  • Apps and cloud services which use date and time for integral functions, such as Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook, notifications and scheduling of meetings might be 60 minutes off.
  • Automation using date and time, such as Scheduled tasks, might not run at the expected time.
  • Timestamp on transactions, files, and logs will be 60 minutes off.
  • Operations that rely on time-dependent protocols such as Kerberos might cause authentication failures when attempting to logon or access resources.
  • Windows devices and apps outside of Chile might also be affected if they are connecting to servers or devices in Chile or if they are scheduling or attending meetings taking place in Chile from another location or time zone. Windows devices outside of Chile should not use the workaround, as it would change their local time on the device.

However, as unpleasant as that might seem, the Redmond-based tech giant also provided a workaround for this issue, while it works on a more permanent solution.

How can I fix the Daylight Savings Time issue?

According to Microsoft experts, you can mitigate this issue by doing either of the following on September 4, 2022, and undoing on September 11, 2022:

1. Turn of the auto Dayilight Savings setting

  1. Search for Date and Time and open the app.date and time
  2. Toggle the Adjust for daylight saving time automatically to Off.time one

2. Turn of the auto Daylight Savings setting in the Control Panel

  1. Search for Control Panel and open the app.control panel
  2. Click on Clock and Region.clock and region
  3. Select Date and Time.date and time
  4. Press the Change time zone button.time zone
  5. Unselect the Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Saving Time option.automatic time saving

That being said, follow the steps above in case you notice anything strange, in order to ensure accurate time switching with future DST transitions.

This is the workaround mentioned in the official documentation that Microsoft recently posted, and it applies to currently being affected in Chile.

Even though Microsoft said that users from other countries should not change their Daylight Saving Time settings for the time being, keep these solutions in mind just in case.

Microsoft plans to release an update to support the new DST settings as soon as possible, but it needs more time to build, test, and ship such updates.

Furthermore, the tech giant will not make it before the change goes into effect, so users need to tweak their systems manually this year.

As far as affected platforms, we are looking at:

  • Client: Windows 11, version 21H2; Windows 10, version 21H2; Windows 10, version 21H1; Windows 10, version 20H2; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2016; Windows 10 Enterprise 2015 LTSB; Windows 8.1; Windows 7 SP1
  • Server: Windows Server 2022; Windows Server 2019; Windows Server 2016; Windows Server 2012 R2; Windows Server 2012; Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1; Windows Server 2008 SP2
